Tesla was such a motherfucking genius though, he could afford to be so disparaging. He built new machines, correctly, so they worked first time. It is said he described it as being able to explode the designs in his head to iron out niggles and iterate before building anything. What stuffed him though was his disregard of money, beyond that needed to build his next project. Amazing guy though. Amazing doesn't do him justice really. There were some stranger stories about him though. It is claimed that he said he had been visited by ETs (which maybe gave him the ability to explode said design drawings if I recall correctly), however I've not been able to find out if he actually said that or not.

Apologies, no, not yet, have company round. Just a footnote really.

Not wishing to piss on your chips, because it is indeed awesome, Tesla demonstrated this about 100 years ago. It wouldn't have been small equipment though.

BlizzCon Blowout: Idle Thumbs 40: Idle Thumbs 40,000 (Nobody Beats the Blizz)

Hi all, just like to flesh out how PLEXs work in EVE. They are basically a way to make cash poor, time rich (CP,TR) folk able to continue playing EVE without it actually costing them anything, or alternatively cash rich, time poor (CR,TP) folk get wodges of ISK for very little effort. So, a CR,TP players buys a PLEX from CCP (60 days, but they are broken into 30 day blocks) and puts them up for sale on the EVE markets. A CP,TR player with loads of ISK will buy the PLEX. They then redeem the PLEX code against their active account and they are credited with 30 days of play time. The CR,TP player then gets the hard won ISK from the CP,TR player, effectively purchasing ISK for real money, and the CP,TR player gets another 'free' month of play. Quite an innovative solution to the problem of ISK sellers. A PLEX is worth about 300 million ISK or so at the moment, but it depends on market forces. 300 million will buy you two fully fitted Vagabonds (awesome PvP ships). -

All you bastards talking about exercise. I've had sciatica for six weeks now and can barely walk. So... Do some exercise while you can!

When I first saw the red targets in detective view, I wondered whether that was because they'd seen me, and they'd fade to blue after a while as they 'stood down'. No such luck.

Echoing Erkki, the demo is surpringly good, feels quite smooth and easy to link combos: glide down and hit, incapacitate on floor and leap away to another gargoyle. Enjoyed the Joker being a nutter too, interjecting comments here and there. Will defo get it.

You can grab the free one, but the ads get old quickly. Anyhow, the reason for the post; 'Warning: even though toblix is Norwegian, he's bloody good at english scrabble. I'm currently being totally owned.' ha-hem.

Normally I avoid these types of games, but based on the EG review, it sounds pretty interesting. Reckon I will get it.

I love Cologne. Great city, great vibe.

The New Player Experience has made it a lot easier to get into the game (better explaination etc.), also with double learning speed until you hit 1.6 million. The tutorials explain what is going on a lot better. I can give you a 21 day trial if you're interested. Pm me your email if you want to try it. EVE is awesome. I've been on it for nearly a year now

Interesting point. One of the most powerful alliances is Russian based. As a game though, tactical, long term weapon loadouts and skills that you never lose could well be attractive to people looking for a more in depth FPS experience. -A- could well afford a vast mercenary xbox live army... Although they might not get the dedication shown by the comrades. -A- pilot dedication has to be seen to be believed sometimes!

Um... Dust 514? This could, if it works out right, blow everything else out of the gamesphere.

Started learning Objective-C. I have some nice ideas for iphone apps, but if that doesn't work out, at least I will be able to write shit in time for that tablet. If it ever materialises. If THAT doesn't work out, I will have learned something new - so it's not wasted effort. Besides that, play a guitar. Poorly.

Should you wish to accept it... try and find out some information about me. I'm not being narcissistic - just interested to see if you can find anything out, as I try to be quite careful about what information goes where Pm the results if you wouldn't mind

That's not me. When you hang round people that build massively boosted engines like this from scratch: http://www.zen11481.zen.co.uk/Pictures/Ultimate%20Dubs/04%20the%20monster.JPG ...and others who make the interior themselves like this: http://www.zen11481.zen.co.uk/Pictures/Ultimate%20Dubs/29%20jay%20renshaws%20interior.JPG You realise you ain't all that.

Not bad so far. I don't remember playing Jedi Academy though, or having anything to do with Bodmin. The information is not so intrusive yet, although a combination of that could maybe be used in other situations. I asked Ossk because of the other stuff he came up with on other threads. Scary what crumbs you leave lying around, even when trying to be careful.

I've just come back from a mini festival that a friend organised for himself, his brother and another friend's birthday. 300 people, sound system (+silent disco after 11), food tent, smoothie tent, beer tent, bouncy castle...had a fucking great time. Most fun I've had at a festival event I think. Ever. Awesome.

You get used to it.

Pre-ordered! Reminds me of the locations in Beneath A Steel Sky, actually.

You need to get a pair of these. The best headphones I have ever heard and used. No question. I think I have the 'Pro' version. http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1916-sennheiser-hd25-mk-ii-.html If you think they're a bit expensive, save up and get them. They've been with me all over the world, in planes, buses, trains, trams, inside, outside... they take punishment and never stop delivering. I saw a pair in a closing down sale for 120 quid and snapped them up - they've been around 150 quid since they were first introduced about 10-12 years ago. They can get a bit irritating sometimes if you're just lugging them about as they're an awkward shape, but that irrritation vanishes as soon as you put them on. Plus you can buy spare parts for them. Buy them. You won't regret it.

The running as admin thing isn't as bad as all that. I've been doing it for years and have had no problems. Admittedly I've got about 5 other layers of security surrounding my PC, up to and including a burly geezer in a dj with a clipboard.
