  1. But that is teh internetz.zomg.

Just watched Drag Me To Hell. You could tell the tone of the picture right from the start with the way the father got slapped about the face with comic over-reaction. Vintage Raimi.

I presume he's talking about the new one. It looked like garbage. The old one is indeed awesome. Walter Matthau rocked in that, and it only made more of an impression on a young me when the Beastie's namechecked it.
  4. The word 'Donk'. Reminds me of those Preston area dipshits who made this hilarious track. The whole of the NW is into 'Bounce'. ckMvj1piK58

2 films I'm interested in: Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnussus. Can our American cousins offer any insight?

    Global Agenda Eve
  7. Forza Motorsport 3

No idea I'm afraid. EG Review - http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/forza-motorsport-3-review Must say, I wasn't that interested, but they do seem to have worked hard on improvements. I might get it.
  8. So how come PSN is so shit?

I'd say I enjoy most of the games I've got from PSN - Tekken 5, Warhawk, Last Guy, Wipeout HD, Flower, Superstardust HD, 1942 Joint strike, Lumines - and just this morning bought pixeljunk monsters after thinking about it for ages. 1942 is prolly the lest fun, but I've still had a good few hours out of it (but at £6-odd, I'd say it was the worst value game I've got.) I think XBLA points work out at 0.09p/point.

Not sure Hollywood can... A sweeping statement, sure, but I think there is the same level of homogenisation existant in AAA game titles to some extent - these things cost so much to produce, studios want to go with the 'safe bet'. Vapid action movies with massive plotholes perhaps gross the most, which is naturally of most interest companies with shareholders. I was listening to something on R4 this am and the presenter said something that resonates with this perhaps - society as a whole generally recognises success by the size of your pay-cheque. An obvious statement perhaps (and I am taking it out of context, I think they were talking about education, polymaths, cross-over expertise), but is easy to see why the majority of Hollywood output could be (snobbishly? not sure) disdained, while we rely on smaller studios or game outfits to provide the more interesting projects. This does in fact happen - so Hollywood does not have to produce more thought provoking items. It is there if you want to find it.
  10. Forza Motorsport 3

One thing that really bummed me about F2: I bought the MS wheel. It was pretty good, the force feedback, and pedals etc. made it a fun experience. Playing fully manual though, sometimes the game would interpret a single downshift as a double, and drop two gears - leading to either you spinning off or the engine blowing up depending on the realism levels. I returned it to the shop, and F3 began to gather dust. [Edit: I said Forza 3, when I meant 2]

Well, the references have come through, I've been offered a job - but still got sciatica. The company are being super understanding however, and are letting me give them weekly updates as to whether I can start the next week! How awesome is that? I hope to be employed soon

I remember 'Allo 'Allo being staple sunday evening viewing, but as I got a bit older (~13?) I started finding it a little cringeworthy. I got a bit tired of the extreme overuse of catchphrases too - but I still have fond memories of it. I think I fancied Yvette. Looking at the Wikipedia entry, as a youngster I was dimly aware of a general arc, but tended to watch each episode as it's own episode. Maybe I should get the DVDs. I think I found It Ain't Half Hot Mum funnier.

Haha! It gets really annoying when my brain decides to pay attention to the other eye, and I get two pictures out of phase.
  14. Comics

Anyone get into the short run 'Sleeze Brothers' from Lee? Blues Brothers parody - around late 80s. I really enjoyed them as a teenager.

Not at all. Had a really bad squint when I was a kid, with two ops to cut the muscles and physically move them around the eyeball, it's barely noticeable now, but still means they don't work together to give accurate depth perception. I favour one eye. Short sighted too! Haha!
  16. Lucidity

Played the demo, it was fun for a while, but I'm not going to buy the full game. It did get frustrating for Moelman's reason.

So gutted about 3D stuff. It's inevitable, and I've long thought about it - I will neverbe able to experience this, as my eyes don't work properly together.
  18. Have people seen Machinarium?

    Wacca-wacca!

Just watched Brick - a bit meh. Tried to be too much, dialogue seemed to be deliberately obfuscating - do kids really talk like that? Up it's arse...Was shot very well though, I agree with that.

    I thought it was interesting.
  21. ‫‬‭‮‪‫‬‭‮Mirror's Edge

I agree with you two. I was glued to it for 11 hours straight one sunday and finished it. The last level got frustrating going for no shots fired though,
  22. Have people seen Machinarium?

I'm keeping away from the demo. Want to keep it special.
  23. Life

Get with the Co-op. Their fraud protection is awesome, plus they don't invest in landmines.

"Murders and boobs." is the best I've got. Tragic really.

When you said that, I thought you were talking about that Vietnam war movie with Bale, and was about to object. Then I realised I was thinking about Rescue Dawn. Very good, btw. Just seen Ep1 of Generation Kill - thought it was good, realistic and well written. D. Simon strikes again it seems! True Blood on the other hand - total bag of arse.
