The forever war is totally nuts. Really shows up the futility of a war, especially one conducted through time. It was one of thse ones that you pick up from a charity shop on the off chance, and in that rarest of rare events, turned out to be a good one! Nice to know Ridley Scott is doing it. Gives me confidence.

For those interested, 2DBoy have released all the sales information from their recent World of Goo promotion: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/10/20/world-of-goo-sale-provides-fascinating-results/#more-19939 http://www.surveymonkey.com/sr.aspx?sm=MZpIFVRQn99e_2fJukiNVWR9Rm3Xg1MSQ85QQk09BNH3s_3d

What makes it different from the first one?

I had a geezer that I used to work with phone me up yesterday who started his own company a few months ago. He wanted to offer me a job. No interview.

A friend's band did that recently for their recent album. Little known band etc...they made the most they ever have. Thousands.

To add some positivity from my corner, the Roots gave the best performance I have ever seen live, 2008, North Sea Jazz Festival, Rotterdam.

Why some guy I know is going to pirate CoD 6 (and why I hate the average gamer)
Scrobbs replied to Patters's topic in Video Gaming
In other news, since I was waiting for MW2 on PC (and now cancelled it), I've just bought CoD4 for PC, so they've still got some of my brass; I had it on 360 ages ago, mainly because my friend hassled me as he has a 360. Need my head examining. -
I really liked that touch; quick poll: I think I got battle damage on the left pectoral area of his armour first, followed by ragged cloak edges. Did damage appear in the same way for you lot?

I love the bullies.

I feel a bit stupid, because I've played a couple of sessions of a few hours. Still not finished. Enjoying it though!

I got stuck there a bit. The way to do it is to thin the thugs out a bit, batarang one of the titans until you can climb on his back and batter the thugs/other titan as much as possible. When he chucks you off, concentrate on the same one, get on his back, batter. Easier said than done I suppose, but persevere.

This ^ He had a peculiar rictus after the scripted event that was the chair too. After the anchor sat down with a self-satisfied sigh, like he was 'getting involved' with 'the funny' - I had to turn it off. Painful.
-
I did have it pre-ordered on PC, as we have a bunch of servers set up for CoD4, ready to upgrade. I've cancelled the order too. So have most of the group.
-
I suspect this will force piracy of the game through the roof. Then there will be the self-fulfilling mantra of 'piracy hurts sales', perhaps persuading more developers to only release on consoles.

The lame chair gag is what made me turn it off after 30 seconds. Horses for courses.

Good. Like when you would say, "This is the dog's bollocks.", or simply, "The dog's." UK slang for 'great!'

You might like the Douglas Adams/Mark Cawardine book of the same name, done years ago. This is an update on the things found in the book. I bought it when I was slavishly into DNA, and really got into it.

This is the only thing that has made me hanker after a High-Def channel.

Getting it on weds I think.

This game does look the nuts, it must be said.

Idle Thumbs 47: The Lord of the Donk
Scrobbs replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams

CoH beat everything RTS. No contest - it took them about a year to rebalance after Opposing Fronts, plus the matching system wasn't too hot.

If only Relic had used games for windows or steam instead of their own half baked netcode based on Quazal. Company Of Heroes would still be the game to beat.
