Just read 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' - superb book. Read it in two sittings.

It's out! Must say, it immediately seems loads more fun that gravity crash - you can bounce off the walls as much as you like, plus loving the water/lava interaction so far! The music is ace too. Only finished the first stage, but liking it so far!

I now have the contract for the job, so it is on! Start date Jan 4th.

Ooooo! I've only just noticed the heat shimmer when firing the magma suit. Nice touch. Yep, the spin thing stymied me, until I read Cigol's post (thank you!). That was a communication error.

On second episode. Have to say it, but the music is some of the best I've heard in a computer game for some time - maybe even years. In fact, I'd go as far to say that I'd quite happily put some of it on for when friends come round. It's that good.

I nearly got to the point of being able to play through the planets in one sitting, but realised that you don't unlock any more modes for doing so: you have to buy them. So I gave it up. Kept me absorbed for a couple of weeks though! Pixeljunk Shooter out tomorrow!

Watched Inglorious Basterds yesterday, and I thought it was rather fabulous. Pitt was good, but Hans was far superior! I think I'm going to watch it again tonight.

Drop7 is the most played game on my phone, without question. Can't get more than about 425K on hardcore though. Usually it's around 280, occasionally 350-odd.

Well, I thought I was on a month's notice (the period you have to work after telling them you're leaving), 'cos I was in a permie role. However, been told that as I'm on probation, notice either way is only 1 week. Get in. I was asked for by name by the agency's client too. That's a massive ego boost.

Phone call from agency: "You still available? That contract we spoke about at the end of october has been signed. Want a job?" Me: "Yes. Found out I'm on a week's notice now too." Agency: "Even better. 3 month contract is on it's way." When I have the paper copy I will hand my notice in. Job is a fucking good one. Plus - off on hols to Germany (Köln) for 4 days this afternoon.

Idly clicked on the EG review, read it, instantly converted into a fanboi. Looking forwaed to the release. I think what made me most excited was the parallel drawn between this and batman fighting, except there was lots of combo choice.

If it's for this weekend, I'm not sure that I will have time, as I'm just finishing up preparation or an interview tomorrow, then I'm off to visit my folks, back on saturday to go to Donny for sat evening, working sunday morning, then possibly hooking up with Nachimir for a gig on sunday evening. If it's for a few weeks hence, I'm sure I could knock something together.

The one I saw above, he made her look really good, and she got heaps more confidence, which stayed a few months down the line. If the magic underwear makes them feel better, then it's worked hasn't it? How you get there doesn't matter, but if they end up feeling good about themselves (and it sticks), I don't see the problem.

Not thought about it like that. Even if that is the case, the positivity gained from showing the larger lady how to feel better about herself is really good, as the rest of the media is basically telling them that skinny is the only way to be, and that you are ugly if not perfect.

Bit of a strange one this... Was knackered after work, and I put, "How to look good naked" on. I thought it was a rather good program - mainly because of Gok Wan. He's such a good presenter, bullish and enthusiastic without being over bearing, and seems a genuinely nice bloke. Quite refreshing telly really. Also, the new Ray Mears series, "Northern Wilderness". Ep1 is still on iPlayer.

The director of Glorious 39 was on Radio 4 last night. Not seen it, but the film sounds rather interesting.
