  1. Books, books, books...

You might enjoy the Baroque Cycle of books from Neal Stephenson.
  2. Nintendo 3DS

Ah, I see. Thanks for clarifying.
  3. Books, books, books...

Pyramids. Yes, I'd forgotten about that one. Good old Pteppic. The Camel names always creased me up too. I seem to remember the ending being a bit weak, as though as he'd had huge fun writing it, but just couldn't sort out how to finish it well.
  4. Nintendo 3DS

Wait there. Most things I read go on about the 3D being mint for the first while until the novelty wears off, but there's no games. Then you talk about SF4 like that... is this console a turkey?
  5. Nintendo 3DS

Shit man, nobody used it back then... did they?
  6. Books, books, books...

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I've always thought the best ones were the early Rincewind novels (maybe because I remember as a wee lad my friend handing me The Colour of Magic and being besotted). Others that I enjoyed were Eric, Mort. the first Granny Weatherwax one and the one where Carrott(sp?) comes to Ankh-Morpork. The latter ones I can take or leave. Guess I just got bored of his style.

  8. Nintendo 3DS

You heard it here first: The Nintendo 3DS - it's almost as good as if you weren't looking at it all.
  9. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

I 'spose I *could* have just googled it myself. Was just interested at the world view. Dam' you and your google-fu. Although mine was particularly weak.
  10. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Interesting to see the world map like that. Is that how the Japanese traditionally depict the globe?
  11. GIRP, from the creator of QWOP

It says there is, I'm sure. A bird's nest.
  12. Movie/TV recommendations

Just watched 'A Town Called Panic' - UK users will recognise the figures from the Cravendale ads from a few months back. This film is bloody crackers, and great fun. Impossible not to like. Also just watched 'Winnebago Man'. While I enjoyed it, I felt a bit sorry for the man himself, as the guy doing the doc seemed like a bit of a wanker. When the old fella wanted to talk about his political beliefs, and how he thought things were going wrong, the director just cut him off and refused to let him finish, and made him talk about vacuous stuff. In short, you get what the man is about, but not really to know him as well as you'd like. A missed opportunity, and I got the impression the director just wanted to use him as a leg up for further projects and didn't actually care about Winnebago Man at all.

  14. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I'd talk to someone about that if I were you.

20.5m Managed to swap hands on one ring somehow. Needed to do it again. I fell.
  16. GIRP, from the creator of QWOP

That bird is a real pain in the arse though.
  17. GIRP, from the creator of QWOP

Loads easier than QWOP. 18.0 so far. Traversing is dead difficult with no feet. Would make life easier if you could grab 1 ring with 2 hands.
  18. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Old; but I've only just seen it. It's fucking mint: h_6lyPEuM_M
  19. Life

Haha! Now you come to mention it...
  20. Idle Thumbs Camping

Thanks man. I have the power of the mac to thank for that though. It just made everything so easy.
  21. Idle Thumbs Camping

BTW, do you think charging for wifi is fair?
  22. Idle Thumbs Camping

Re: pricing, a full size awning would put an extra 7.50/5 nights. A small tent is a tenner, a large six man is 14, with electric a bit more - per night.
  23. Idle Thumbs Camping

Hm. Well I mainly wanted it to be clean and very clear where the important info is - i.e. contact details and price list! There is a canoeing blog section, but I need some more photos for that. I will have a think about what more I want it to do.
  24. Idle Thumbs Camping

Indeed. Then again, I'm no designer, it's the first website I've ever bothered to do and it took me 3 hours. Happy to field (ho ho) ideas, if anyone can be bothered.

Test site up! I've noticed 1 typo already, and a formatting error.
