Snowcrash is good fun, and his Baroque cycle is very interesting, but pretty heavy. Crypto is pretty damn awesome. So nice to read an author who *really does understand technology*. The reviews seem to say that this isn't as good as Crypto, but is a fab book in it's own right. Screw those guys, I'm looking forward to it! Just go to finish Dance With Dragons...

Haha! For the moment, yes. Until the end of march, at least. Then we will have the new season and it is very tempting to either take a short term 2 month extension (if offered!) and quitting entirely.

Re: projectors, I got hold of one from my old company that was already a few years old (the 'jector that is) in 2000. I used it loads (as in every day) as my main TV (100" screen anyone back in 2001? ) for at least 5 years, but was relegated to cupboard and lending out to friends for music nights in 2006. I turned it on the other day to see if it worked, and it still did. So that's at least 11 years of use out of the bulb that was in it when I acquired it. Played the shit out of Soul Blade on PS1. We'd just been sitting around, wishing that they'd put weapons in Tekken after playing the shit out of that one - then about a month later they released Soul Edge. We were totally made up. Played SC, then stopped after that. Wikipedia tells me that it used to be called Soul Edge - but was changed due to Tim 'Bloody' Langdell.

Strange isn't it - he can flip and spin and control a car in an extra-ordinarily balletic way; when it comes to driving the car in rallies though, he's fucking hopeless. Hopeless is a relative term here, obv. but I think he's got a huge ego, and was happy to see it deflated by junior rally drivers pissing all over him.

When you mentioned the peculiarities of Wolpaw, I didn't realise which guy it was, as I hadn't paid attention to the subs, but I suspected it was the guy in green shirt, judging on his mannerisms. I went and checked, and it was - there might be a little autism there from the way he's pictured sat in his chair with his rucksack on (editing?) and his detailing the travails of the butter.
