  1. Breaking Bad

You need to watch breaking bad. FWIW I thought the 2nd series dragged a bit. Then the 3rd series goes straight for the jugular.
  2. Life

    Run. Run away now.
  3. Breaking Bad

That car park scene was so awesome. Great tune as well (called DMZ by TV On The Radio). One of the few that I can remember clearly.
  4. Breaking Bad

This show really knows how to ratchet up the tension! There's a bit in the last series where I was nearly hiding behind the sofa! I think I had to pause it to go and have a nice cup of tea to calm down
  5. Don't forget the Belgians were unable to elect a government for over 500 days. Their economy also the grew the fastest out of any other EU country. Co-incidence?

What was that thing that Charlie Brooker was sounding off about regarding 'The Muppets'? Chopping the and bottom 'cos cinemas were showing at the wrong screen ratio?
  7. Life

Interesting this. There are parts of my personality that are pretty dark. I enjoy a funny joke, and I find nearly every subject funny, with a few exceptions. I used to find every subject funny when younger - nothing was beyond the pale. However as I've got older some things that I may have laughed at that just don't do it for me any more. The first of these was racist jokes, about when I was 12-14 or so. I found one or two funny, but still knew implicitly that I didn't approve of them because I didn't like the fact that they were all derogatory, and that's where the basis of the joke derived from. The second was rape jokes. I can't remember when I stopped finding them funny, maybe around 22-24. Those are pretty much the only two subjects that I can think of at the moment - perhaps gay jokes too. (But I cannot think of a single one that I've heard). Talking to the wife about this, she said that this is unusual for me to try and rationalise this, as I still tell paedophile jokes. Only funny ones, obv. I tried to argue my way out of this by saying that racist and rape jokes rely on putting people down over something that they have no choice about being, whereas other it's open season on other subjects. Am I a bad person? No, I don't think so. Does finding paedophile jokes make me a bad person? I don't think so, perhaps others do. Indeed, perhaps as I get older still and (crucially?) end up having children of my own, I will stop finding them funny too. Or maybe I won't. Time will tell.

    I think I love you.

While nothing like it, it seems as though it might have a similar air to cube about it. Amirite?

    Secret of Kells is great!
  11. Life

A friend who got a job in an 'independant' coffee place in Leeds went on to making a bit of a career as a Barista. I believe he won some sort of national coffee thing. Anyroad - he loves it, knows his shit and appears to make a decent living out of it in London. It is possible.
  12. Movie/TV recommendations

Probably 'cos he is! None of them (or maybe 1 at the outside) were so called 'actors' before taking the roles. Or so it's said.

Totally down with DaisyDaisy re: valentines day. Both of us feel the same, and it wasn't anything special. As for the feelings it's supposed to engender, ('do something nice for your partner'), they tend to happen spontaneousy anyway at random times. Fuck the commercialisation of it.
  15. Natural Selection 2

Well, after believing the project dead, it seems as though they have got their act together, and have some shit to show us! Check out the Onos! 4NkvIlUR2js Seeing as I loved this game and played it for yonks, I think I may even pre-order!

Yeh. In time. Just watched it on flight back. It sucked really really badly. I even felt that it had wasted 2 hours of my life on a plane journey!

Brave move, Nach. Brave move. At least she was honest. Keep on keepin' on!

Pine. Apple Smash Crew set for Feb2nd! (Strange formatting to get around the swear filter).
  19. PS Vita

So... The Vita seems ok. Very light, screen is very sharp. Only got to play tue capcom fighting game as a demo... Was good fun. The twin joysticks have a very very nice feel to them - far nicer than I thought they might. Wifi only seemed to be equivalent of about 214 quid. Ish. I had to leave the dept. store after about half an hour as I was getting a headache from the lights, colours and sheer sensory overload. Fabulous shop though. Massive. Nearly got lost trying to find the exit.
  20. The ASTOUNDING thread of science!

So, Cold Fusion, right? Futuristic power generation? Exciting scientific line of enquiry, first started in 1958. Well NASA have applied for an intruiging patent: http://t.co/XCvnFZvK
  21. World of Goo

http://www.2dboy.com/games.php This looks rather good, and EG (from Jon Blyth, no less) have given it a seal of approval. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=249671
