  1. Boycott Left 4 Dead 2!

http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=incgamers.com Nice. But regarding the L4D2 screenshot is the holstering of the main weapon a new feature or do they do that in the current L4D? Can't say I've noticed it - but even so where the hell is that bat going to go when he switches to the automatic rifle
  2. Prepaid Virtual VISA Cards by EntroPay I can't vouch for it, it's just a link I found on the internets and bookmarked for future investigation.
  3. La Celle Splintereux: Conviçion

I doubt it, he doesn't have a french accent.
  4. Any Company of Heroes Players on here?

I'd be up for a game some time, but I warn you; I'm one of those boring types who sits back at his base building up impenetrable defences that crumble at first sight of the enemy. I wouldn't need the latest addon though would I? I only have Opposing Forces.
  5. Trine

On that link Toblix posted it says the XBOX version might also have cooperative multiplayer... I'd say the jury is out on which is the best version to buy. Sensitive subject for Toblix
  6. The OTHER Pirate Bay thread...

http://thevideobay.org/ Yeah but it won't amount to anything. There have been similar things said in the past and just like youtube all it means is that some high profile files get filtered or removed... but in the grand scheme of things has no impact upon the transfer of illegal content.
  7. The OTHER Pirate Bay thread...

I'm guessing they get a shit load of money in damages if they win and hope to scare off others by setting a precedent - but all the while people are happily paying rapidshare.com for an account to illegally download products much faster, and far more easily over HTTP - especially when its combined with googles powerful search engine. lol.
  8. Who you gonna call?

I think the Eurogamer review said it best; One more time; Nerny ner-ner ner-ner, nerny-nerny ner-ner-ner
  9. It was the one after the boring ice slide with lots of flames. I'm guessing one you couldn't be bothered to fix as the platforms movements are absolutely mental. ...some point bubbles throughout the level would also have been good, but I think a do over retaining the style of the falling compartments is called for
  10. Edge of Twilight

    Yep;
  11. With the help of that spoiler text I got past the rocket puzzle, which was surprisingly obvious once you knew the solution, ahem, but I quickly gave up once I got to the springy platforming section. Sweet jesus that place is a minefield of chaotic instability. I'm surprised I got that far to be honest, but I did like the beginning bit with the falling down sections
  12. Edge of Twilight

I hate being reminded that I've never played Arcanum or Anachronox outside of their respective demos
  13. 24" HD 1080p for under £200

It does look a little sinister on reflection, but no it was a genuine request. I emboldened the bit in the quote where I personally tripped up and I guess the emoticon was a manifestation of my inner excitement at finally understanding how.
  14. 24" HD 1080p for under £200

I've been told I can get it exchanged on the basis of the audio bug incidentally, which is amusing. ...I'm all ears
  15. ArmA 2

I fondly remember my time playing Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, SWAT, etc so I hear you loud and clear, but you can't go running around shooting at everything that moves in ArmA - especially on the higher difficulty settings. If you were to just run around shooting at the first thing you see then you could easily end up hitting friendlies, civilians or much worse alert the enemy to your position and paint yourself a target. You do need to be methodical about how you approach things but it's obviously a different kettle of fish to the CQB of the aforementioned games. ...and it's also heavily dependent on the scenario you play, both in terms of what it entails and the quality. There are so many elaborate things scenario designers can do. Don't think of it as just plonking a couple of men down in the middle of the map and having a straightforward skirmish. There are scenarios out there where you can end up playing for days, even weeks - and these scenarios aren't simply; go find enemy, kill enemy.
  16. ...am I playing the right level? I get squished by falling segments only to come to a bit where I have to do something in order to get a button pressed by a red arrow attached to the ceiling. Only, I don't know how to do it. Clearly the platform must be raised, but in what order do the triggers need to be done in? The falling segmented platform bit is nice in a yoshi's story type of way but the puzzle isn't idiot proof. I was thinking when I first got to it; "booooring trigger grab and pull"... but then I go and get stuck. Of course you mentioned no puzzle in your original post so now I'm even more confused Either way, after playing it for the first time in a long time last night I'd forgotten how ingenious some LBP creators can be. There are some seriously amazing levels out there whether they are musical, artistic, fun or clever.
  17. ArmA 2

I actually ended up buying the German release and patching it with a downloadable English mod and suffice to say it's brilliant. My only reservations concern the sheer amount of bugs (some forgettable, others not so much) and the performance hit in cities (with texture loading galore on lesser systems). Everything from the artificial intelligence, the semi-dynamic campaign, a greater fluidity of movement, its graphical improvements in both environmental fauna and aesthetic effects such as head bob, sway and blur all add to the experience - and combat is so much more thrilling for it, with huge explosions and plumes of smoke. It's obviously not a game for strict COD fanatics, or those put off by bugs and occasional sloppiness... but for fans of realistic, large-scale war games nothing comes close (except maybe WWII Online, but that's a bit arse). Fully patched, this is going to take some beating. So far only Bohemia have come close to bettering Operation Flashpoint, but I wonder whether the same will be true of ArmA in the future. They are different games, but I can't see why you wouldn't enjoy playing it online with friends. There are so many different official/unofficial gamemodes and all manner of missions and variations thereof... and the scenario you describe is perfectly possible. To be fair, the original ArmA was more of a stop-gap after losing the Operation Flashpoint brand-name. This is the real sequel and it shows.
  18. 24" HD 1080p for under £200

I've tried most if not all of those tricks to be honest and they didn't make a difference. I'd be surprised if they were really necessary anyway as I had no problems swapping connections (SCART/HDMI) between a standard television and another HD LCD without having to do anything with the PS3. When it's connected to the Dell it's definitely aware of a connection otherwise the Dell would have the self-test screen flashing with 'no HDMI connection' or go into power saving mode. Instead all I get is a black screen - which is why I wondered whether it was a problem with HDCP. Are you certain of this. I thought it was needed for bluray playback on the PS3? I've not heard of any problems with the 360, it does seem to be a PS3 only issue. As I say; monitor is great on the PC, switches resolution and all the rest of it with no issues... it just decided to stop working with the PS3 out of the blue, so I'm not sure what to make of it.
  19. 24" HD 1080p for under £200

*thread resurrection* So I actually ended up buying one of these and aside from the unadvertised 'power-saving' audio bug it worked great for both the PC and PS3. I could multi-task effortlessly between spreadsheets and inferior ports of XBOX 360 games with the touch of a button where I previously had to get up and move into another room. ...but now all I get using my PS3 is a blank screen with no error message or image. I've tried different cables to no avail, and the PS3 itself works straight away on two other televisions (one HD LCD, one standard CRT) using both HDMI and SCART so it's clearly nothing to do with the PS3 or its cabling but Dell are claiming it's actually okay it doesn't work on their monitor as the PS3 is a games console not a computer!? As far as I was aware it is technically classed as a computer, capable of running linux, and it did work flawlessly for quite some time previously. Not too long ago I rang Viewsonic about a faulty LCD I bought around three years ago and they sorted a replacement for me within minutes, free of charge and British to boot. The guy at the end of this Dell support was pleasant enough and I could easily understand him, but when hes got the wrong manual for another television and telling me I don't even have a HDMI port, and then starts openly googling for solutions before essentially blaming me for buying a monitor that doesn't say it's incompatible with the PS3 - I don't know whether to laugh or cry. *With all that said it was still a good monitor for my PC, so a rather belated thanks goes to Wrestle for the headsup. I just wish it still worked with the PS3...
  20. Oh Fuck ! (©Yufster)

Is it wrong to be entranced by those buttocks?
  21. Really? I heard about it here!
  22. Oh, fuck

I'd rather punch the vast number of people who didn't even bother to vote, much less waste it. Voter turnout so low after all the (supposed) scandals and turmoil?
  23. New version of the main site!

Where did the bookmarks thumbnail go? Is that just a problem on my end?
  24. Boycott Left 4 Dead 2!

Quoted for truth I ain't jumping on either bandwagon. I'm flitting between the two camps, excitement and annoyance. I just wonder why they aren't being more ambitious with the gameplay features, everything they've announced sounds great - but pretty 'boring' for a sequel no?
  25. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

Before the whole E3 thing there was a thread about the potential unveiling of the wand at NeoGAF and someone linked to a bunch of videos from the PS2 EyeToy era; FpNdkm9s8AY So when this guy came out on stage holding that brightly coloured dildo, my first instinct was to cover my eyes in horror Oh mah gawd... surely not... are they really that desperate? Thankfully the tech had evolved into the Wii controller + EyeToy + PS3 hardware... but it was panning out differently in my head for a moment there
