Because Vampires are generally overpowered compared to humans and tend not to actually get their hands dirty with actual fighting. If they do fight, they fight like normal humans, albeit stronger and faster. They're often also loners. All of which adds up to Vampires as bosses, but not low-level enemies.Compare and contrast to zombies and werewolves, which tend to exhibit mob behaviour, have distinct fighting styles and physical features. Makes them much better choices for gameplay enemies.

This is a bit of a WTF, but apparently Telltale are making a game based on Jurassic Park. I can't for the life of me imagine what it's going to be like, but I'm sure I'll end up buying it anyway. http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/06/08/telltale-creating-episodic-jurassic-park-games.aspx

It's been on iOS for a while. New to Android, huzzah! EDIT: And only $3AU! Hadn't planned to buy it again, but that's a bargain and I'm happy to support 2dBoy.

FYI, Stranger's Wrath HD is coming out on PS3 in the next few weeks and on PC about three months later. They're starting to work on Munch HD right now, as well.Noyb is right though; Munch is kinda crappy. It has moments of fun-ness but it's nowhere near the level of the other games.

Thanks for mentioning that there's a new podcast! They haven't posted it in the Action News, so I didn't know.

Sadly, no. My monitor is set to display things as they are. Even old school VGA-era games display correctly. I just checked again; when the FMVs are playing, my monitor reports that the resolution is 1920x1080, so that's what the game is pushing out. Also, my monitor generally flickers when the resolution changes and that doesn't happen, so I'm quite sure that the game is, in fact, stretching the FMVs.

No, because when I watch 4:3 tv shows, the aspect ratio is preserved. What are your graphics settings set as?
-
I tried out the patch today. Not long enough to see if they've fixed the glitches that caused it to slow down/freeze with ATI cards. But long enough to see that they haven't fixed the problem with FMVs being stretched wide when using a monitor that isn't 4:3. That one's bloody annoying.

I do not recommend this game. Other than the short section in Valhalla, there was no puzzling. Almost all the game was repetitive pathways with ridiculous numbers of enemies. The sidequests were few and far between, and weren't particularly interesting. The main quests mostly sounded like sidequests; several times I looked at the quest log and thought to myself 'Why is that in the Main Quest section?' and didn't find out until after I'd completed it and discovered that the prize was, unexpectedly, the key that allowed me to move on forward. For instance, early on in the game It just feels like lazy Adventure Gamey plotting that expects you just to try everything and find out later why it was important. The game pretty much has no plot. Each section is completely seperate from each other and it's terribly linear; there's none of the 'Gee, I'm not powerful enough to kill these enemies. I guess I'd better come back later' locations that existed in the previous games. Also , unlike Erkki, I really hated the Arena; the enemies are way overpowered even when they're at the same level as you, so you're pretty much just stocking up on the most expensive weapons and potions and hoping you can kill them before they kill you. I ran out of money towards the end of the game and just gave up on finishing the arena. The major plotpoint FMVs are all the same but rerendered with a different colour thong. There are a few good laughs, but they're spread far and wide. All the characters and much of the scenery are ripped straight from the previous games and put in new situations that make little to no sense. Worst of all, there are some really gratuitous digs at Ron Gilbert, for instance a red herring that you carry in your inventory for the whole game and a terrible, terrible attempt at insult sword fighting. All in all... it's not a bad game. It's just really, really lame and not a patch on the first two.

I started playing it last night and I'm liking it so far. That review is correct in the way that he describes the randomness being dialed up compared to the previous games, but I like that sort of thing so it's all good.

No, thankyou for sharing.

Hopefully that's at level 17, just to make Steven Spielberg happy.

Yup. You've perfectly summed up how I feel about this game. The dual player gameplay is slightly better about this, possibly because they weren't so afraid you'd miss out on their brilliant writing.

Is the HD version only available on PS3 and 360? Oh, why am I even bothering asking? My computer ran the original PC port so badly that I gave up and bought the Xbox version.

Catan's website has a bunch of different online games. You might need a subscription to set up a game with a non-random opponent though.

Just finished it and all I could think was "What the feck?". ... etc. The puzzles were okay. I felt that they were simpler than PA1; the only ones that really I found difficult were the ones where I hadn't read the instructions properly.

What are you talking about? He's smack bang in the middle of the 'Hothead Games' group.http://www.mobygames.com/game/xbox360/deathspank/credits

In case you missed the news, Limbo is being ported to Windows (via Steam) and PS3. Wikipedia says the release date will be July, but the citation is the link below, which doesn't state a date, so take that with a grain of salt. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/30/limbo-coming-to-steam-and-psn-playdead-handling-the-ports/

I didn't really like either ending. The one where seemed to me to be the clear 'Bad Ending', which is why I played it first. I was expecting the one to relate how , so the fact that he didn't was a real disappointment. Both endings just seemed like cop-outs. Of course, now I realise that it was just a setup for a sequel.

In case you missed it, the new Deathspank game has been announced and is titled 'The Baconing'. Trailer was released today and appears to suggest that they're prioritising computers over consoles this time. Also, there's a website.

With PoP 1&2, how well did you do with the time limits? I haven't played #1 since I was a kid (or #2 at all), but I remember that I never finished it because I could never do it fast enough.
-
If this is true, why on earth wouldn't they re-release it for PC first?
-
Thanks to Jake, the problem has been sorted. Crisis over.

Urgh. I don't know what's going on; back when I made the last post I had two serial numbers listed under Puzzle Agent. Now I only have one. On the other hand, I appear to have three invoices for the game. So that's wierd. Sorry Orvidos, I don't think this is going to happen. I'll send you a PM if Telltale Support ever get back to me.
