  1. Spike VGA awards

Another possible explanation: a drop of Ben's blood fell on to his magical demon motorcycle, transporting him to a parallel universe where bikers ruled the roads.
  2. Spike VGA awards

Eastern and Western USA must have split in to entirely different countries for the dystopian future of Throttle to co-exist with DOTT. Or maybe after the time of DOTT Ben was sent in to the future for unexplained reasons that more than likely kicked arse.
  3. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

Go to the link on Netmonkey's post. Go to the camper's page, go to the specific camper and then click on the myspace link. There's no one list of the all of the myspace pages and not all the characters are friends with all the others, so that list is the best place to look. Just finished reading them. Absolutely hilarious, with a tinge of horrificness when Clem and Crystal drop by.
  4. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

Oh, that is awesome. All of the profiles that Tim used to create the characters are now on myspace. Brilliant.
  5. Plain Sight

What email address will the invites be coming from? Damn crappy spamfilters.
  6. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

Oddworld Inhabitants were with Microsoft Game Studios before the cull that also hit Psychonauts. They jumped at the first offer, which was from EA, who wanted a PS2 port of the game. However, when they realised that the PS2 port would not be ready for a few months after the Xbox release date, they dropped the port and gave no advertising at all to the Xbox version. Their logic, I suppose, was that console-exclusive games aren't worth spending the money on. Which was a shame, as Stranger's Wrath was a bloody awesome game that would have hooked in lots of new fans to the company. And... as a hardcore OW fan, I don't forgive easily. I feel slightly reassured by the posts other people have made about the partner program. But I will retain my overall state of worriedness for now.
  7. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

I dunno... You ever hear about the Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath fiasco?I am worried.
  8. Plain Sight

Turns out I was already signed up. Woot for preparedness.
  9. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

Well, the Spike TV thing is on sunday, so the best bet is some sort of news then. And it's unlikely that they would announce bad news at an awards show.
  10. Double Fine: News sometime this month!

What happens at a premiere of a game? Movie premieres happen just before they're released, but it can't be that, I imagine.
  11. Bootleg copies on eBay

So they didn't just scan the original game cover? How wierd.
  12. Þe Olde Videogame Muzak

Psychonauts had an awesome soundtrack. World of Goo was fantastic also; if it were a longer game (and thus more music) it would have even been worth releasing.
  13. World of Goo

Just finished it. Definately the best game I've played in a good long while. Is is worth bothering to build a tower in the World of Goo Corporation headquarters? Do you actually reach something exciting? (I'm crap at building tall towers that don't fall over) My one major frustration (in the vane hope that the developers are going around to forums to get feedback for a sequel) is that once you get enough goos to finish a level, the undo-flies disappear, which makes OCDing bloody impossible in some parts.
  14. 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand

If this were any other game, I'd criticise the animation of the main character. In this case, the animators must be praised for mimicing so closely how stupid 50 actually looks and acts. Also, I wonder how long it took them to teach the voice over guy the correct pronunciation of 'Fiddy'
  15. Speaking as someone who has never played an MMO or any Star Wars games (yeah, I know...), I'm imagining a gigantic universe where everyone is a jedi. How is that going to work?
  16. World of Goo

It's just really about finding the rhythm of not attaching too many balloons at once and not linking too many goos at once. One goo, one balloon, one goo, one balloon. Or whatever. That was one of the trickiest ones for me so far.
  17. Why you should buy Sam & Max Wii...

Oh, I got that much. I just didn't understand the 'Stunts' bit.
  18. Why you should buy Sam & Max Wii...

Uh... will I be tarred and feathered if I admit that I don't get it?
  19. Brütal Legend without publisher !!

But... has it officially been announced that BL was dropped by Activision? Last I heard they had been omitted from the list of games that were definately still 'in' but were not stated as 'out'. I mean, that article made it sound like they asked him 'If BL were available, would you consider publishing it?'
  20. Spore

Tribal is pretty easy. You just need to give some food to neighbouring tribes to make them slightly friendly and then collect all the instruments you can and perform for them. Have two individuals for each instrument, two fishermen and one guy taking eggs from your domesticated animals. That will give you more than enough food and you'll be done with the stage in less than an hour.
  21. Spore

Apologies for the doppel-pöst. To those who have successfully reached the center of the galaxy; how the heck do I do it? Ever time I get close, my ship's travel distance gets so short that I can't jump between stars. I'm pretty sure I have the maximum rockets (certainly no-one is trying to sell me rockets any more). EDIT: Stratch that, I just managed to trawl past the deadends to find the one route that I could take to the center. That was... pointless. Would anyone disagree if I nominate Spore for Most Over-rated Game of the Year? As a secondary note, I think my favourite stage was Cell, but I don't get how all the other blobs are so advanced; you can only get DNA points by eating shit and if you eat too much shit you evolve to creature. Even if you continue playing in Cell and don't advance, you can't increase your DNA points any further; essentially there is a ceiling on the number of points you can get, being the same as the number of points it takes to evolve to creature. So how the heck are there creatures with ten eyes and twenty spikes and whatnot? It's impossible to get that many points. There isn't even (unless I'm blind) a cell creature editor from the start screen.
  22. Spore

My Spore name is thornate. If you want some really cool creatures, I'd recommend a mate of mine whose name is darkbulletmagnet.
  23. Spore

I quite liked Creature stage also, although the whole befriending/fighting thing got very repetitive after a while. I mean, if it's something you're going to have to do over and over and over and over and over again, surely game designers should put in a little bit of variety in sound effects and animation. Buhahoring! Tribal stage was a bit shallow but short and Civ stage was mercifully simple once I built up enough cash. Space stage... all I can say is never be rude to another race. If they ask for money, either give it or say that you don't have any. If you have insulted them, wipe them out as quickly as possible (because I was religious in Civ, I now have a tool that converts an entire planet in one shot, which is handy) or suck up to them to become friends again. That way, you don't have to constantly run back to your planets to stop them from being destroyed. Pirates you can get away with ignoring most of the time.
  24. It's possible, given the Prince's sarcastic comments on the cliches of game design. But somehow I don't want to credit the designers with that level of irony.
