  1. Tales of Monkey Island

    Aha! Thank yea.
  2. Tales of Monkey Island

Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find the release date for The Siege of Spinner Cay anywhere on Telltale's website. Now that we're a month on from Narwhal, should it be appearing soon?
  3. Dammit, I think my 360 is near death?

I have cupboards and sheds full to bursting of Original Boxes. Looking up right now, I can see the box that my original Xbox came in. That's probably gone past the point of usefulness now...
  4. Because my eyes have been destroyed by squinting at the tiny screen...
  5. Warren Spector's Disney project concept art

For what it's worth, it was originally a collaboration between Wes Anderson and Henry Selick but then Henry (who directed Nightmare) left the project and directed Coraline, which is awesome. So now it's directed by Wes Anderson and doesn't have significant links to Nightmare Before Christmas. Apparently the animators are the same ones who worked on Corpse Bride, though.
  6. Paid avatar clothing.... sigh.

Wait... are you talking about an actual clothing product or a DLC avatar costume? Because if you mean the former... I would buy that in an instant. If I remember correctly, Sam did something like that in Bad Day on the Moon. Hopefully the purchasable Max pelt would also be slightly gooey and have a faint odour of singeing fur.
  7. Sam and Max is coming back

Reputation System = a button in the post bit that lets you say "I like this post" or "I don't like this post". Then everyone gets to play a popularity game and lord it over each other how much other people like their forum persona.
  8. Sam and Max is coming back

I so wish this forum had a reputation system so I could posrep this post.
  9. Brütal Legend overload...!

They probably wanted to use the guitar controller to do the in-game-guitar superpowers. Besides that, it was probably just a branding thing. Brütal Legend: A Guitar Hero Game Guitar Hero Adventures: Brütal Legend or something
  10. Point-and-Click Adventure Games, Today.

Yeah, Milla's level was terrible for me in that respect. I absolutely loathed the race bit.
  11. Point-and-Click Adventure Games, Today.

    What about Psychonauts?
  12. Sam and Max is coming back

Has she tried Telltale's existing CSI game?
  13. Best game credit roll/sequence

It wasn't interactive but the Full Throttle credits were pretty epic, mainly for the music but also for the Biker Haikus and the bunnies at the end. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFM6xcsMSTw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFM6xcsMSTw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> EDIT: This vid skips the bunnies for some reason. .I also really like a game that shows production art behind the closing credits. The first two Oddworld games really did that well.
  14. Sam and Max is coming back

Can you not load a savegame and complete the game again?
  15. Tales of Monkey Island

Yeah, I agree. I love the polish Telltale has put in to the interface stuff that most other companies ignore. The zooming out through the jungle thing - and the box that slid from left to right to confirm saving and loading - really helped set the atmosphere.
  16. Brütal Legend overload...!

<embed src='http://videomedia.ign.com/ev/ev.swf' flashvars='object_ID=851726&downloadURL=http://xbox360movies.ign.com/xbox360/video/article/100/1004869/brutallegend_trl_commentarypt1_71709_flvlowwide.flv&allownetworking="all"' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='433' height='360' ></embed> The first time I've really got a sense of the gameplay and its potential for awesomeness. The rest of the commentary video is on the website here. EDIT: Hmmm... That video isn't loading for me but then flash has always been a bit broken on my computer. I'll leave it as it is, but if it isn't loading for you, click on the link and select the Commentary Video #2.
  17. Scribblenauts

I think that the problem with most of the above ideas is that once they appear, they'll immediately fall in to the lava. So you need to start off with something heat resistant as a platform. How much does the game's character actually do? I mean, if you type 'grappling hook', will he throw it and swing on it, or will it just dangle off the cage waiting for something else to be attached to it?
  18. ARhrrr - Augmented Reality Zombie Shooter

Some cool other uses of Augmented Reality This one with a simple game: http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/09/topps-launches-3d-live-baseball-cards-video-cards-on-deck/ This one not a game, but pretty cool anyway: http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/17/video-augmented-reality-business-card-sells-itself/
  19. Tales of Monkey Island

Ditto, when they give the option. I'm always amazed when I see someone else's Start Menu and they have three columns of shit because they put absolutely no effort in to sorting them.
  20. Oh my god. I always thought that that guy looked strangely familiar!
  21. Tales of Monkey Island

I suspect that Microsoft would suggest that this sort of data should be saved to the Application Data folder. That said, I know from experience that that complicates things for the Tech Support guy, what with it being a hidden folder and having to guide people to their profile in Docs&Settings and all.
  22. Can someone please post a screenshot of the graphics, so the conscientious objectors can see what you mean?
  23. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet

I dunno. It's pretty but it looks to me that he's intentionally trying to be self-consciously indie and anti-mainstream gaming. It's all style over substance and gives very little away on what gameplay is actually about. Also, does Michel Gagne have a reputation big enough to justify him bignoting himself at the beginning? I've never heard of him before and my first impression of "FROM THE MIND OF MICHEL GAGNE" was that he was a craven douche.
  24. Tales of Monkey Island

Really? I've only ever seen it once before and that was with Bioshock. I figured it was just a wierd Steam thing in that case.
  25. Tales of Monkey Island

Eeep. I'm guessing that this is something new with Vista? Thank god I never upgraded. I retract my disapprobation and redirect it towards Microsoft. Also, I fully approve any decision made to simplify things for tech support. Wish the programmers in my last job felt the same way. But please still think about the Start Menu thing.
