  1. Project Godus: Don't believe his lies

The way I interpreted the interview, it sounded like only the pre-production crew (visual designers and whatnot) had moved on to the new game, while the coders and gameplay people were still on Godus.
  2. Well, the good news is that I god saved by another bug, where after a conversation with Eva she sat there staring into space rather than turning back to the radio. The commentary wasn't really worth worrying about, though.
  3. Was anyone able to hear the entire commentary in Salvatore's lair in Year 1? It seems like every time Eva starts playing with the radio the commentary cuts off.
  4. There are a few dialogue hints here and there as well. When you look at Domino's door, Manny says the following. It definitely could have been hightlighted more, though. Incidentally, I can't believe they removed the stored HTML dialogue files. Made it so much more difficult to find the exact bit I needed.
  5. If Manny is holding something in his hands, is there a way to get him to place it back in his pocket without opening the inventory? I've played this game something like ten times, which means I must have opened and shut that inventory a few thousand times by now.
  6. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, mercy! The original game was buggy out the arse. Crashed to desktop all the frigging time. Seperately: Is it just me or are the FMVs just playing at lower compression? They haven't updated the models or textures as far as I can tell.
  7. A question about Braid

I hadn't seen that. I was basing it off (among other things) my impression from the articule that Merus posted.
  8. A question about Braid

If he showed us a picture of a spork, people would be saying "I think the spork artwork did have significance - if it didn't, then Blow might as well have shown us a picture of a melting table". I love Braid for its atmosphere and its puzzles, but I didn't spend more than 5 minutes thinking about what it all means. Everything Blow has said about it makes me think that it's deeply meaningful for him, but impossible to get for anyone else. He doesn't seem to care whether people understand it or not, so I assume he consciously designed it so that no-one but him could. And that's fine. It's not a criticism. I'm just not going to waste my time philosophising over an impossible Zen koan.
  9. What did the patch do with inventory handling?
  10. This. Very this. I never had a problem with the tank controls, but I hated when Manny ended up running somewhere completely different to where I intended. My strongest memory of this is coming up from the cat track betting office, he'd always veer up the stairs towards Carla's security office instead of running straight along the walkway. The music sounds great, but I think I'm going to have to listen to the soundtrack a few times first before playing the game. I've listened to the original OST so many times that it'll be jarring to hear the subtle differences.
  11. Tacoma from Fullbright

As a side-effect of studying Engineering, the only think I can ever think about when I read 'Tacoma' is the Tacoma Narrows bridge disaster. Which really isn't a good thing, seeing as I recently moved to Seattle and now live about 35 miles from there.
  12. Well, dang. I'd gotten my wishful, hopeful hopes up that Disney allowing this game to be remastered might be a sign that their film that currently has the working title 'The Untitled Pixar Movie About Dia de los Muertos' might actually have been a film adaptation of Grim Fandango. Sadly, it's described as being "wholly original" and the art doesn't match.
  13. I'm guessing they've only got the El Marrow stuff finalised so far. The music sounded great, but I've heard the original music so many times that hearing something that was almost the same was actually quite jarring. I suspect the entire game might be like that on the first run-through.
  14. Android Games

There was an article in the early days of the Amazon app store that said that, while it was indeed optional, devs were being put under a hell of a lot of pressure by Amazon to include their apps in the free program. And while they were promised that the promotion would be good for sales, it would only produce a tiny bump. Things might have changed since then, though.
  15. Uhhh... y'all need to read that Greenlight page's description:
  16. Hatred: The Most Despicable Game of All Time?

"I always wanted to die violently" "It's time for me to kill... and it's time for me to die" That suggests to me that the goal of the game should be to run out of health bar as soon as possible, and game over. Getting as far as the second level should be seen as a failure.
  17. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

How long did it take you to play? This isn't the sort of game that I'd normally get into, but it looks interesting enough that I'd give it a go if it didn't mean a huge time commitment.
  18. Idle Interviews #2 Chris Remo (Musician, designer)

Chris Remo bumped me the other night. It was a surreal moment.
  19. Oh. My. Fucking. God. I think that's it! You have my many thanks!
  20. I've done some more googling and the closest I've come to an answer is this post from a similar thread on another forum. I thought I'd copy-paste his post in case its somewhat better description sparks anyone's memories.
  21. I never minded the tank controls. My issue was with the walkboxes (not sure if that's the right term) that meant you'd occassionally veer off to a side path instead of continuing straight. The example I can remember most clearly was in Rubacava when you come up from the gambling office; if you're running straight ahead you'll accidentally turn right up the stairs to the security station and Carla. I hope they can fix that.
  22. No. I think the gameplay was top-down. Or possibly 45-degree angle. I have a clear mental image of the river being a strip of blue in the middle of screen with green above and below (i.e. the grassy north and south banks of the river).
  23. I'm going to repost this, in case someone new has come along in the meantime who can identify it:
  24. Video Game Baby - Idle Parents

I thnk you might have buggered up the link slightly.
