I would just like to commend the mention of Merzbow in this thread. Carry on

I don't care what anyone says. The model in the Vitality Sensor poster has GORGEOUS hands...

Are the golf and bowling games much improved? They were by far the most played on my original Wii Sports so I'm considering getting this just for those (and the MotionPlus thing too, obviously...)

How has Russell Howard insulted the monks?

I also totally agree, Tim Burton needs a new trick. Getting back on topic, artwork is awesome

Oh yeah that probably makes more sense. My main, personal concern for an MI2SE would be the Guybrush sprite. The original is only perfect for me because of the nostalgia value but, when I really think about it, it's a low detailed sprite mostly covered by a beard. It's incredibly unclear to the point that I can't really translate what it's supposed to look like in the real world. As a result I think I'm just going to end up hating whatever they come up with which is a shame...

But it doesn't REALLY need to be 3D, does it? Just a still from that video would've been good enough even without any fancy space manipulation. That way the old/new transition would be the sameas ever. If you can seemlessly integrate the sprites into the backgrounds (I have no idea how it works, can you tell?) then it would simply look gorgeous. It was my understanding though that there were only about 4 or 5 pieces of the original background art still in existance. Is this true? If there are so many missing I can't imagine LA will want to put in so much effort

New "old-school" LucasArts game announced tomorrow
BooJaka replied to toblix's topic in Video Gaming
Ha. When you put them side by side I actually prefer the original EGA version. Maybe that close ups just got worse as time went on... -
I literally just finished the chapter and I have to say, I pretty much agree with everything the EG review said. Bit of a harsh score at the end though

I'm only a little way through so I'll save saying anything too much about it until I'm done but my one point right now is... I wish people would stop snapping their goddamn fingers!

New "old-school" LucasArts game announced tomorrow

As for the story, do you have even a vague grip of the plot to Swan Lake? If you do then the plot to Loom might become a bit predictable throughout the game. Also the music is a bit of a giveaway... -

It's fine not to care about it, that's your choice but I find it impossible to believe that people don't feel anything for this man's death. No one who has had even the slightest interest in music in the last 25 years hasn't been effected in some way by Michael Jackson, even if it's as small as trying to do the forward-leaning thing from the Smooth Criminal video. One place where he excelled was his ability to stay cool during the 80s, something which the vast majority of similar musicians (Paul McCartney, Elton John, Madonna...) ultimately failed to do and they're songs which never really stopped being cool; not through nostalgia but through solid songwriting and showmanship. Admit it, anytime you've been in a club and a Michael Jackson song has come on you've never just gone and sat back down because you found it uncool. You've smiled, you've pretended like you can moonwalk and you've mimed to the solo of Beat It. As for me though I'm still in shock and fairly substantial denial, even 16 hours after hearing the sad news. It's a death I never expected to feel as much as I am right now. Presley might've been the King of Rock and Roll but Michael Jackson remains, in my mind at least, the unchallenged King of Cool.

Over here (UK) it had an entire show and it's own catchphrase. Hosted by none other than the holy grail of daytime tv Dale Winton

I liked MI4 too. As a game it was great, especially the slightly darker direction it went in. Because of that it reminded me of MI2 quite a bit which is never a bad thing. For some reason though it just didn't feel like a MI game. I haven't played it in ages so I can't really remember why... It could just be that I've built that up in my mind without even considering why. I'll whip it out again and assess

How dare you, the first one is brilliant. I realise it looks like I'm saying that just because it's the original but it is true, especially the close up. As for the special edition one I'll be happy if they just save that one for a special blank expression. If it's the normal one then... no

I used to get terrible headaches when I used to play Quake with all the whizzing around and whatnot but that's the only game that's ever had any effect on me. It was the original Quake too, I think any I played after that were fine. I always expect it to happen though even if it never does.

Will this game include Pokemon Friend Codes ?
-
So any chance this is going to come to the 360?
-
Slap a "The End?" on that and you're done

Seriously? I'm not too blown away by it. That whole part of the conference was just like "Oh hey, here's a bunch of stuff the Wii can do but no one's really taking advantage of". If in the last 3 years people haven't done this kind of thing for the Wii why would they suddenly do it for the PS3?

The new Metroid looks AWESOME! And that's it
