  1. Have you ever played games on your mobile?

ohhhhh maaaaan, why have you done this. this means the end of any little productivity I had left... anyway, now I'm officially a mobile gamer too, I just tried out Lumines and it works nicely, no luck with DoomRpg though, it crashes when loading the first level but it's supposed to work on my motorola L7.... now, let's go back to mobile sudoku:gaming:
  2. Have you ever played games on your mobile?

no, I tried once, but my motorola L7 keys are soooo small. that and the fact that I never understood how to upload java games to a motorola phone... since I'm a potential sudoku addict, I would gladly have that bundled with my phone and not some boring snake/arkanoid/golf variant.
  3. What are you playing today?

it takes place into sectors connected with space gates but I think you can travel from one another normally (on impulse speed:oldman:). but every sector looks different and beautiful, and there are many of them. Surely less than in elite/frontier but there's much more detail. What's cool is that everything really seems to go on by itself and ships are flying everywhere minding their own businnes. bad thing is there isn't much interaction with other ships unless you own them or have any special businness with them. you can ask them some stupid info and that's it. oh, and the thing that was sooo great in elite was entering planet's atmosphere and landing...nothing of that here...I think the only game doing this is the Battlecruiser series but I never tried any of those (anyone?)
  4. What are you playing today?

Seeing all the Darkstar One reviews (and me having a quite awful Elite addiction), I got this impulse to reinstall X3 which I never found the time to play, the main reason was that it took me almost two days two understand how to handle everything (and countless fan sites readings)...anyway, I just started the game and I realized I forgot how to play! nooooooooo!!! still, I'm printing the controls list now and even if I might get bored of the over-complexity of this thing, I never saw graphics that could suck you like this in a game world. makes you want to live in some kind of future space era...(if Tie and Xwing didn't already)
  5. What are you playing today?

hey man, I didn't realize you're behind the magic ball network! awesome site! first place I looked when I reinstalled LBA:tup: let's hope a third (worthwhile) episode will come out someday.
  6. Heroes Trailer (from the Killer7 guys)

erm...am I the only one with jap subs in the movie? I think the japanese version may have english acting... but I'm still trying to figure out if Killer 7 is a good game or not(any advice is welcome)...despite my usual open mindedness about games....
  7. What are you playing today?

I finally did, and it's every bit as good as I remembered:tup: Ah I'm also playing some Painkiller and it's just plain boring... but I can't put down a game until it's finished (I have the same thing with books and movies)
  8. The World Cup hate thread

not so much into football but this last world cup strangely hooked me...especially since italy managed to win this one and I happen to be italian... of course I know it wouldn't be wise to manifest national pride by yelling something like "WE'RE WOLRD CHAMPIONS" in all over the place in a WC hate thread. So I'm not saying "WE'RE WOLRD CHAMPIONS" anymore, I promise. we're world champions!!!! we're world champions!!!! we're world champions!!!!
  9. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

this portal thing is already cool in Prey but this is a incredible. I'm not really into puzzle games but this one seems like it could convert me to the genre. and even the weapon looks cool! And I'm wondering, is this the first FPP , first person puzzle, or someone attempted this before?
  10. So they're releasing the first Sonic again...

watch out for idle forum members spin dashing at you:gaming:
  11. anime

already cited here: evangelion cowboy bebop Ghost in The Shell (the series is better than the twwo movies) akira personal favourites: Wings of Honneamise (I believe in the US it's called Royal Space Force) -- greatest anime movie ever IMHO FLCL (what Gainax Studio did after evangelion) Nadia and the secret of blue water *these 3 are from Studio Gainax* Macross Plus (far better than Macross Zero)
  12. What are you playing today?

Devil May Cray never appealed to me either, don't really know why though. Maybe it really didn't age well after God of War... Just finished F.E.A.R.... pretty boring really. so cliché I also found my old copy of Little Big Adventure (with the LBAWIN patch to play on XP) and I sadly noticed that it didn't age well too. Also wanted to give Xenogears a re-go after so much time. it's one of my favourites games and I hope I'll get the same feeling this time around. Oh yeah, and I just finished the Indy fountain of youth demo. last puzzle was weird but the ending is incredibly funny (and must have distracted the team from actual game creation for quite some time ).
  13. So they're releasing the first Sonic again...

Marble Zone is what makes me stop playing everytime, it's sooo boring. So a save feature would be welcome. Otherwise, first sonic is the best one for me even without the spindash (never played Sonic Cd though). I can't stand all that sonic friends rubbish (Tails included:deranged: ). still plays in my head from time to time...especially the Spring Yard Zone tune
  14. Darwinia - WTH?!

Darwinia is strange game...it's too repetitive but somehow it manages to get you hooked. The "old-school" gameplay is too much of an excuse for simplistic gameplay and some aspects of it are clearly underdeveloped (you never get the feeling darwinians are really "alive" as they dont' interact with each other). And the terrible pathfinding makes you want to cry. But the stylish experience (even if some sound effects do get annoying after some times and don't make me regret the Adlib soundcards era) makes it quite a freshing one and the the game is quite short, so you don't have time to really get bored. The mains problem lies in the gameplay: once you understand that you can gradually conquer almost every island by: 1)killing viruses with soldiers 2) create an outpost 3) start producing and advancing from there; there's no challenge anymore. Oh, the red "evil" darwinians were cool as they added some tension to otherwise repetitive levels. Despite all the criticism, it still has that "thing" that makes a nice gaming experience and one I reccomend, if only to see "something different". Introversion is working on Defcon, a "War Games" inspired game that seems really nice, I'm looking forward to that.
  15. Sonic Rivals Gameplay Trailer

animations are horrible, graphics and camera too:deranged: the 3d portion of sonic jam (saturn) looked waaaay better. instead of releasing those terrible sonic3d games, they could try some kind of new NextGen *full2D* game, with nice 2d graphics and all...and not in a "revamp the classic" state of mind...but creating some new 2d sonic with all the new characters and contents they created over these years.
  16. Sensible Soccer 2006

I have a Geforce6600Gt and the demo works perfect. U sure it's not a driver problem? And yeh, it's quite. At first I thought that a 3d sensible soccer was a lame idea but they managed it quite well. Doesn't beat the pixel cuteness of the old versions though...but I don't think it's possible:)
  17. Gabriel Knight

yeah, I miss sierra adventures. I certainly didn't like them all but those were the Lucasart vs Sierra days ....GK, all the "quests" titles, larry, even the police quest series that spawned SWAT was cool. and yep, metallus is right, only six games SQ were made. the last one was canned.
  18. Paul Barnett explains Warhammer Online

"cut open your arm, and mice pour out" now, that's nice it's interesting though how he's pushing all the "commitment" concept...it sounds to me like "we will mess up your social life"...kinda opposite to blizzard and all the "you can play for 30 minutes" thing when they were launching Wow... and yep, he's fun...but makes me want to stay away from his game
  19. Gabriel Knight

Space quest... why didn't they make a sequel...this reminds me that we don't see many games that manage to be so hilarious... Roger Wilco stands right there with Guybrush in the "most-funny-characters-of-all-time" category. Anyway, GK and SQ both have that kind of characterization that could make a game stand out, and the Grace-Gabriel duo is a nice example of that.
  20. Gabriel Knight

one thing I really didn't like at that time (waaa, it was like...mora than 10 years ago:eek: ) was a terrible puzzle involving some kind of writing on a crypt wall... I still remember it: * DJ bring sackey madule * or something like that.... I was clueless about that one, especially since my english was worse than now...it was one of the few times I had to rely on a faq:shifty:
  21. Gabriel Knight

GK was one of my favourites games of all time...I don't know, maybe the new orleans setting and the the voodoo stuff really got me going. And the dialogues were very well written too for that time. Yeah, the "Schattenjager" thing all of a sudden was really crap and the last part of the game has a certain "rushed out" feeling. I have to admit that the first game is the only one I got to play... I never liked the FMV thing (who was anyway? ) but GK3 looked cool, it's been on my "must play" list for quite some time. Anyway, the creepy setting and the voodoo related plot made GK one of my favourites adventures. Oh, and I loved those nice midi tunes too. ps. first post on idle forums, hello everyone
