  1. Gamelife Episode 3: somehow it still lives

You should feel wrong, Kenty. It was a horrible post. I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
  2. Gamelife Episode 3: somehow it still lives

I finally watched ep3 too. ...yikes. The thing about it is...well...see what I think the...I just...oh man I can't do this I have to leave! *runs*

More? I didn't notice that much more--the original MBs have tons of mini-games. If done right, MB Wii will be a GREAT value because of all the mini-games...no real need to get wii sports. As for it being fun...definitely! It looked kind of more of a racing "roll down this big water slide tube" game, instead of a "slowly balance across this maze" game. So...I guess we'll see if that's good or bad.
  4. Yoshi's Island 2

I got 100% on Adventure in Diddy Kong, then did the mirror mode (Adventure 2) and beat that whole thing. I never want to see that game ever again. This news has brought up a bunch of repressed memories.
  5. Microsoft: hey why not buy a Wii?

Oh don't get me wrong, I love him. I was mostly referring to the "I'm about kicking ass, and taking names" line from a couple years ago. It's not so much what he does that makes him seem corny, but what the community has done--"Regginator" etc.
  6. Gamelife Episode 3: somehow it still lives

Metallus, you have just written us a drinking game for the next GL episode! Let me put it in a better format. I also added a couple of my own: The E3 GameLife Drinking Game On the E3 episode of GameLife, if you see them do any of these things, or hear them talk about any of these things: Take one drink: Play a demo build See new consoles See a "booth babe" Get a T-Shirt Be handed something by a "booth babe" Wait in line to see a trailer that's been on IGN for 2 days Take two drinks: Crash a demo build Get separated in the crowd Talk to a "booth babe" Get into an "exclusive" screening Get recognized by "fans" Take three drinks: Touch a "booth babe" Steal a trinket or five from some company's booth Steal a demo build Get a beer Hit on a "booth babe" in a self-effacing manner Sign autographs for "fans" -------- Feel free to add more.

Argh! I just found out that Gitaroo-Man Lives! is just a port! It's exactly the same as the original! Obviously that's not a bad thing if you haven't played the original, or if you want it on the go, but I was really hoping for new songs. Guess I don't need to buy a PSP afterall. Maybe there will be some new stuff added to it though.
  8. Yoshi's Island 2

Rodi: After reading a bunch of reviews, AVOID Rayman DS at all costs, and play a real version. toblix: As I mentioned in another thread, I got my local gamecrazy employee to give me a thumbstrap off one of the used DSs! Other than that, I don't think you can get them anywhere.
  9. Microsoft: hey why not buy a Wii?

J Allard is a total tool. Moore, on the other hand, I've actually grown to like after watching more interviews with him. I disagree about the tattoo thing...I saw it as a commitment to the release date of Halo 2--not as a "hey look kids, I'm DOWN, yo!" Just him showing how serious they were (of course in hindsight, I would have rather they actually FINISHED the game). Reggie is the best, though, despite his corniness--no wait, because of his corniness.
  10. God Hand

The trailer I saw on GameSpot felt a lot like the movie "Kung-Fu Hustle." Awesome trailer.
  11. Yoshi's Island 2

I'm really excited too! The second I heard it was coming out, I called up one of my friends who's a big YI fan. It sucks that it took this long, but at least the first one was released on GBA. Well I don't know about that, accuracy doesn't really concern me though, heh. In one video I saw Peach riding Yoshi, so there are definitely new characters! Peach had her parasol, and Yoshi was able to float down! So it actually changes the gameplay as well.
  12. Microsoft's E3 Press Conference

Yeah, I think it looks fun! I still don't really know the point of it, or how it'll play, but I think it's cute, and I have no problem with brightly colored paper mache. If anything it'll be a great game to play with my little sister.
  13. Sony's E3 Conference Thread

"acceleration" does not equal full positioning, just how fast you're tilting it, or something. Not even close to the wii.
  14. Nintendo's E3 Conference Thread

Oh yes, and ExciteTrucks?! How awesome does that look? I'm a huge Burnout fan, so this looks like tons of fun. Shallow? Probably. Fun? Ooohhhh yeah. Starfox DS, Yoshi's Island 2 DS...can't wait!
  15. Nintendo's E3 Conference Thread

Hah, I started watching on gametrailers, but it wasn't working well, so I switched to gamespot at the last minute. Then towards the end gamespot lagged and stopped, so I hit play in the other window (still open) and resumed without missing anything! Phew! Anyway, you all missed the BEST announcement of the whole show! It was a really quick shot amidst the other DS games, so I'm not surprised: Ouendan is getting a US release as Elite Beat Agents! It's one of the BEST DS games, and now it's coming here with (I'm guessing) new songs. It has different graphics, so it's definitely not just a translation! Yes!
  16. Hot damn!

Hehe. Well then you should definitely stay away from the fire yo-yos, and the ones that have metal spikes on them (both real).
  17. Sony's E3 Conference Thread

You mean Canadian? Here (US) the premium 360 is $400, whereas the crappy PS3 is $500. So the crappy version is $100 MORE than the good 360. It's exactly what I thought would happen. There seemed to be a small chance they'd match the 360, but I would have been really surprised to see it under $500. I'm definitely not getting one anytime soon.
  18. Hot damn!

Well, there are *tricks* that we do before it comes back up. But yeah, you really can't do many with a yo-yo ball. There are Yo STICKS now that are surprisingly fun, if still shallow.
  19. Sony's E3 Conference Thread

I agree. The interesting thing is that this move may really hurt the 360, since it's the only one without motion now. So rather than trying to compete against Nintendo, maybe Sony did it to win against Microsoft--since that was always the real war for them anyway.
  20. First Metroid Prime Hunters review

One of my best friends is obsessed with Metroid. Upon getting Hunters, he told me, "they changed the control from the demo! Before you were using your thumb, now you use the stylus!" To this day, I have absolutely no clue what the hell he was talking about. Obviously you can use either, since they're both styluses. I think I ended up liking the (pen) stylus better, because there are small points on the screen you have to touch (weapons, visor, etc.). The visor one is at the very bottom, and I had trouble activating it with the thumb stylus. In any case, I really liked the way it controlled. Felt like a mouse-and-keyboard on a handheld.
  21. Hot damn!

A very long time. YoYoJam yo-yos (most, not all) use double o-rings for response (never need replacing), as opposed to friction stickers (wear out pretty quickly). The only part inside is the bearing, and that's very durable, same with the body. You can basically throw it against a wall and it'll be totally fine. If the bearing gets dirty, it's pretty easy to clean (soak in rubbing alcohol). The only thing that definitely needs replacing is the string, but that's true for all yo-yos. You might bend the axle if you stomp really hard on it or something, but I don't think you were planning on anything like that...? miffy: I know, but it's still amusing. I never thought I'd run into a yo-yo topic here! As for your yo-yo ball, you're supposed to make a slip knot. Just pull the string through the plastic loop and it'll fit any size finger.
  22. Rayman Raving Rabbids

Hah. Does he legally have to call it that? Yikes.
  23. First Metroid Prime Hunters review

It should be pointed out that the MPH demo was a *completely* different engine. They started over from scratch for the final game. I barely played the demo, so I don't really remember if it's much different. Interesting, I didn't know that. I'm not planning on getting Rayman DS, but I just checked out some screenshots again. It looks like the circle is really small! That may be the problem--or does it detect outside that circle too? Maybe they need bigger "zones" (neutral, walk, run). What I really think they should do with each upcoming DS platformer is let you choose the size of the circle, and whether or not it's fixed. If you choose fixed, you should be able to choose the location (left side, right side, middle, etc.). That way everyone can tweak it to their liking, and people who use their right thumbs will be fine too.
  24. Hot damn!

I started in '98, although it doesn't take very long to learn, especially since the yo-yos are so much better now. Rodi: They said they're both ball-bearing -- not yo-yo balls. Totally different things. On a side note, it's hilarious that I left my own forum and came here to talk about gaming, and here I am talking about yo-yos again!
