I knew next to nothing about Deadpool or what to expect from the movie, hadn't seen a trailer, and I think that was part of why it worked so well for me. I cannot remember laughing so much in the cinema, something just clicked. When I think about it too much, it falls apart in lots of places, but damn I had great time watching it.

RPS seems to really like it, which is great, because I like them. Now I'm even more excited. -

That explains why there wasn't a note or card or something inside. I wondered. Maybe you can PM me a scan - just if it's not too much of a hassle. -

Yeah, I tried it, it's great. This kind of pudding is something we don't have here. Wiki says, I think, that it's the Christmas version of British pudding, no? So, that's what I got for Idle Christmas: (I hope the link works. Excuse the bad quality.) Said pudding, custard powder, that goes together with the pudding (at least in my mind - mh?), English tea, fantastic, as we like tea a lot and the English ones were great so far, cream fudge, very tasty, mini chocolate cupcakes which are amazing!, A Little Hostory of the World and Top of the Lake. I'm eager to read the book and though I know (and like) Top-Lake already, it's good to have it legally on Blue Ray. Thanks again Woodfella, great gifts, you pretty much were right on the mark regarding my tastes, even with stuff I weren't familiar with before. (I wonder what happened to my presents...?) -
The game name claim to fame, or "How I learned to stop worrying and love Gratuitous Space Battles"

Grim Fandango is my favorite game name. Divine Divinity is a very stupid name but somehow it manages to be kind of good at the same time. Anachronox I always liked as well. STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II - The Sith Lords™ with its three ™'s can fuck right off. -
This is why I love these forums. (And before anyone says anything, I know it's the wrong thread, I don't care, deal with it!)

I received fantastic gifts, a big box of them. Pictures will follow. Thank you Secret Santa! (It's totally Woodfella.) -
I'm pretty sure some games dropped in price during the Steam sale. Could be the publisher 'adjusting' the discount because sales didn't meet the expectations or something. Anybody else noticed this? For example 2013's Tomb Raider was 4,99 at the beginning of the sale, now the same version is 2,99 - that, or I'm seeing things.

The fun I had restarting a level after 45 minutes of careful thinking and staring and solving because my fingers forgot for a second which button does what or just because they got lazy for a bit and 'fell' on a button. I even restarted when this didn't result in a mistake but solved something by accident for which I didn't have the solution yet. On the upside this sometimes led to finding other, nicer solutions or at least a great feeling of flow in cleaning out the early sections I still knew the solutions for. Fantastic games!

There might be people who restart levels after even a single mistake. Strange people. Squarecells was fun too. Now I want more Squarecells. Hexcells I liked a bit more - though Square's design is clean and simple and compact as well, Matthew Brown did a better job with the Hexes, I'd say.

I just watched The Descent. I really liked it, as far as horror goes I found the characters and their actions to be quite believable, the cast in general was very refreshing. Not sure about the ending, even the non-american, original version does not work for me that much. Still, great movie, watch it! Not really a spoiler, but it feels strange to make a point of it when the movie so greatly does not...

My gifts will be late, sorry. Broke my foot some time ago and have to rely on crutches for the time being, so that is kind of an excuse. (Last year I wasn't in pieces and was late as well. Mh, I wonder what that means.) Anyway, I've got the stuff together, just have to hobble to the post office. -
Thank you, Toblix! I love Hexcells, didn't know about Squarecells, now I bought it.

Thanks!

Can anybody please tell me in which Assassin's Creed game you get to visit a game studio? There was a Thumbs episode where the talked about this, I think. Thank you! I tried to look it up for a bit, but reading through the stories of all the Ass-games made me feel queasy.

Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

I just bought a new PC that kind of fits your plan, but my experience does not go much beyond that. - the SSDs from SanDisk seemed to be a bit cheaper while still being solid - so far I'm very pleased with mine (it takes far less than a minute from pushing the power button on my PC to standing in the bostonian wasteland - SSDs, in general, are the best) - my GTX 960 with the older I5-4460 does everything in the highest settings so far (I only have a 1440x900 screen though and haven't tried MGS5 yet) - if finances would have allowed I would have definitely gone with a better processor - I was under the impression (informed by thumbs-people as well) that a nicer processor would have future proofed the machine far more than a better GPU - as a side note, if you are aiming for a quiet machine with your water cooling, components that aim to be 'silent' might be sufficient, I tried it this route and it works wonderfully, the machine is inaudible most of the time - and it's probably cheaper and less of a hassle this way -
Do you add and/or subtract a certain number of ghosts for the console release? Anyway, thanks for the fantastic game, I wish you a million copies sold, ghosts and all.

What about Steven Dengler? He was an/the investor in prior Double Fine games. Also, I'm in. I love Psychonauts.

...I wonder whether lots of people wrote you a PM N1nja but didn't want to make their participation known by writing in this thread. Everybody should santa, it's fun! -
The Man From Earth is a great 'guiet' movie. Station Agent is fantastic and funny and calm, there is some tragedy though. Another Earth might be a fit, In Your Eyes as well.

Thanks for the input, Badfinger and Gaizokubanou! I just bought a PC. Normally it probably takes me six months of buying the occasional beer, cinema-ticket or odd indie game to spend that much money for something I don't really need. Apart from traveling, which doesn’t count, because Strange feeling! I'll probably be back here when I try to turn it on and bad things happen. -

I want to build a PC. My wish list contains - GeForce 950 2GB - Intel I3-4160 Dual-Core or Intel I5-4460 Quad-Core - 2x 4GB RAM - 500W Power Supply - Win 7 64Bit As I’ve been out of the loop for quite some time, so questions arose. - Do the components fit together, power-wise? - Is the power supply strong enough? I probably won’t put in much more, a small SSD and a larger normal one, occasionally it’d need watts for an external drive. - Do I have to buy the more expansive Intel? Is it worth the 50-70 bucks more? - Anything tricky I need to watch out for? I’d really appreciate some input from you people. Thanks! -

I'm in. Again. Last year was great and exciting and I got marvelous things. Thanks N1njaSquirrel! -
Amplitude Studios are amazing. They just released an update for the year-old game. Some rather minor things, but as I'm obsessed with the game I'm very happy. They also said that a big free update is coming soon, a new ship and character and gamepad support. Counting the posts it seems the game flew a bit under the Thumbs radar. Why, I ask you, why? It's my favorite game of the last year, my favorite game since FTL. You people should play it!

Inside Out will release in Germany in about four months. Strange globalised world. Looks pretty though.
