  1. Backlog Busters

Great! One small mistake on my part. For Planescape, Wisdom and Intelligence are the important stats. Charisma comes third.
  2. Backlog Busters

When you have never played one of the Infinity Engine-games, yeah, you should save often.* Think about lowering the difficulty. If you have the resources (time!), stick with the games, learn their ways, it will be rewarding! They tell wonderful stories, have a great cast and nice tactical battles. BG2 is a huge game, very long, lots of great quest - sometimes it feels like the last game Bioware went a bit outside their box creatively. Planescape, mh, I even envy you a little playing this for the first time. Anyway, you probably heard all the sweet talk about the games, or you wouldn't have bought them. One thing regarding Planescape. Don't bother much building a fighter. Put your points into Intelligence and Charisma, go with magic - you want a talker in this game. As Planescape-modding goes, there is a great and very useful guide by this forums Thunderpeel2001: Planescape: Torment - Best Mods/Increase Resolution Guide There are most probably similar mods and guides for BG2. *More experienced players might play without ever loading (except for their avatars death), even when the background-dice rolled especially cruel, but I never could see one of my party die, so, yeah, maybe even continue to save often. But if you stick with it you will get better and dying will become less and less of a problem.
  3. Coo My Lovelies

Wait, what? Oh boy, just hearing that music, memories, and most of them good! It is BG 1, no? (Maybe it's buzz for the upcoming Obsidian-Kickstarter. I wonder where the BG-rights rest.)
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

Great news! I'm just rewatching what's been aired till now and while some episodes are a bit just-okay, might even seem a bit forced, other episodes are so incredibly awesome, deep, touching, funny, human that this is my favorite comedy series. Happy+1.
  5. IDLE THUMBS KICKSTARTER!

Okay, pledged. (Where does one have to live that sending a postcard there costs 3$? [Yeah, I'm that poor. No, wait, I mean 'cheap'.])
  6. Movie/TV recommendations

Thanks for the recommendations. I haven't seen most of them, but when I thought about special animated films in the wake of Kells Mind Game and Tekkon Kinkurīto came to mind. (Found them via the anime-thread in this forum.) I'll have to track down the others.
  7. Balls! (There is no way to actually delete posts, no?)
  8. And it's done. (Apart from £0,02 everything went perfectly well. Fucking PayPal, 2,5%-4% I'll give you four percent, more like 6,6%.) A proper forum-colour-gradient-tool-thing would be great.
  9. Woah, thanks! That was fast. We should probably move this conversation to a more--private place. I'll send you a "Private Message". I mean I'll send you a Private Message. (Sorry, I'm a bit sick and spend half the day watching 'Community' - not even sure whether that was Pierce or Jeff - what, you don't know the show? - what, 'rambling', who's rambling?waitwhereareyougoing.) Okay, this thread is over. I hope.
  10. Anyone? Hello? Oh man, this just feels like primary school all over again.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

I recently watched 'The Secret of Kells' and was very much impressed by it. It's a Belgian/French/Irish animated film from 2009. While the story is quite nice with some sparks I wouldn't say it's very special. Mean cold uncle, boy is special, evil forces, etc. - the best aspect in this department might be that (for the most part). The great appeal of the movie is its art style. Everything fits together, characterizes people/moods/tension, the way the characters are drawn, their surroundings, the use of colour, the animation, shapes, all parts complement each other. It's all pretty expressive, which might put some people off, but I liked it a lot. Lots of shots are fantastic compositions...- my words are stupid, go do an image(/trailer) search - better yet, watch the movie! I haven't seen an animated film that uses the medium that well, does so many things a live-action film couldn't do. That probably just means I haven't seen a lot/enough of the good ones - if you know Kells and have a recommendation in the same vain, please, let me know. Pretty:
  12. And it's back... Game.co.uk has a new offer. Again, non-physical, steamable, quite cheap, but it needs a credit card and my shiny new one is still in the works. So, could any of you help me out? My paypal has money now, and I can send the £7.99 up front. I have no idea when the offer ends, but I guess it won't last for very long. But what do I know? Seriously, what? Thanks!
  13. idlethumbs.net

This better be apple juice. Or urine. Tststs, Americans, no standards. Exciting, something is happening. And yeah, sure, I'd like to help.
  14. Edited

    Crowd funded
  15. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

I funded feeling like a child and having dreams again. (Interesting interview with Mr Schafer on Giant Bomb)
  16. Gifts - Stuff for Free

I wonder what happened with this curious offer...?(Btw Toblix, the colour of your eyes reminds me of that warm and fuzzy feeling one gets right after taking a big solid dump.)
  17. The Binding of Isaac

As far as I understood, if you want to sell a game in a German store the game has to have been rated by the USK (the responsible organisation in Germany). Online-only games are a different matter, they don't have to be rated yet, but I think politicians are already thinking about that big grey area. The Binding of Isaac seems to have found a publisher here who wanted to sell it in shops and thus the game got rated (and said publisher paid the bill).
  18. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

I wonder whether the game being crowd-funded has any implications for how it will be pirated. That issue a long way off, but I somehow think that all the people who back the game will be more opposed to people in their environment not buying it, will feel entitled to further its success. And then it wouldn't be a faceless company that gets affected by piracy, but The People. Okay, wishful thinking, but maybe it makes a difference.
  19. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

(It is getting a bit scary, no? I mean, that much money, that fast, and now all the attention, the snowballs, the whole avalanche, what will happen to The System, change, waaaaaaah!) I mean: AWESOME!
  20. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

You might know about this already, but for me it was news... (And yeah, I think it rather belongs here than in the movie-thread...as cool as it might be) Py_IndUbcxc
  21. Yeah, it's all as old as it says. (So long as nobody went into the brewery-ruins and planted the stuff in the attic for us to find. You know, the long con.)
  22. Not sure it's the right kind of old paper, but it is both old and paper.
  23. Gifts - Stuff for Free

I thought it was be gone already, but it wasn't. I took InMomentum, thanks brkl. I hope it can scratch the itch Mirror's Edge made me (and then took and fucked over with guns).
  24. Gifts - Stuff for Free

RPS on the dangers of gifting (and some other stuff).
  25. Mh, that is why I wrote in my first post that the offer ends the next day, so people know that it's urgent. See, I wrote it, then I changed something and deleted that part. Damn, I'm stupid. I mean: Damn, I'm stupid.
