  1. Rockstar Presents the Warriors

Oh man, I loved The Warriors. I'm wary of extrapolating from my own friends because I think I know geekier than average people, but there might be more twenty-something fans than people think. It's got pretty good cult status. It's also got a lot of Video game potential. Anybody that hasn't seen it, should check it out. Wild Metal Country. To be honest, I'm not sure there's much of a "game" there, but I just loved driving around in a crazy future tank blowing stuff up. And it's free now: http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/wmc.html Rockstar Toronto is doing the Warriors, they did the PS2 ports of Oni and Max Payne. The console and PC versions of both of those should count as "good games" for Rockstar, right?
  2. Psychonauts postmortem in Game Developer

Well, this doesn't affect how normal people discuss games, but at my video store when one distributor (Ingram) sends the list of upcoming games they all have a rating from A to AAA (I think I even once saw a . I assume it's from their internal sales projections and to help the more clueless store managers do ordering. Joe-on-the-street might just make his "AAA" assessment up, but the phrase does come from reality. (And, no, I don't remember what Psychonauts was assigned.)
  3. Why isn't Psychonauts selling well?

I work at an independent video store. When the Xbox Psychonauts came out, not only did our distributor not have any, my salesperson didn't seem like she had even heard of the thing. A few weeks after it came out, I found it at a local Video game specialist and bought it retail for myself. It should go without saying, I am posting at Idle Thumbs after all, but I love it. When the PS2 version came, we were at least able to get that right on time. But even with TV ads, etc. people aren't clamoring for this game. Example: I've never had anyone ask specifically after Psychonauts, but just last Friday I had three different groups of teenage boys ask right after walking in the door if we had copies of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition in.
