To be fair Cumberbatch is limited in that the script demands Sherlock is basically incapable of operating on a nurmal human level. There's not a lot of room for subtlety.

I ordered the old (late 80s) Sherlock series with Jeremy Brett as Sherlock. Damn, his portrayal is excellent. Obviously the series has aged a bit and they don't play around with the setting and characters like the current Sherlock adaptations do, but Brett is easily better in the role than Cumberbatch or Robert Downey Jr.

Where are the babies?

Valhalla Rising makes you hope it's good, but in the end it just isn't.

On topic: there's a nice Far Cry 2 retrospective on Eurogamer. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-01-08-retrospective-far-cry-2

That's both awesome and non-threatening.

This is what the meatheads looked like in the original:

I did not know of such thing. Huh, I should study for an exam and I've collected quite a backlog of novels, but I feel like reading some more Conrad...
-
If you liked Heart of Darkness, Conrad's Secret Agent and Nostromo are also very good, though longer and Nostromo especially is pretty complicated structurally.

The contrast in the carpet texture is ridiculous, that's probably the main reason it looks bad.

I just ordered this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Sovereign-Robert-Fripp/dp/0978062132/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1325103443&sr=1-1 It's a book about King Richard III written in Elizabethan English by Robert Fripp not of King Crimson, my favourite band. I'll let you know if it's good
-
I disagree regarding its relevance!

I wouldn't say that. It works in the Swedish film, at least, because it explains Salander a bit. But I've heard the character is a less vulnerable (emotionally) in the American film, so maybe it isn't needed. It's really weird the American film exists. I quit reading the book after about 50 pages...

I'm hoping for some Thumbs shooting at fake people action later this week! Though Wednesday and Friday are not great for me.

Stinks of rehash a bit. Ridley Scott hasn't been his best for a couple of decades. That is, ever since he stopped doing sci-fi... So maybe this one is good after all, we'll see.

Eh? A children's book is exactly what The Hobbit is.

They especially hate elves!

IIRC I stopped playing Oblivion after I broke chameleon and ran about for a while completely invisible, never having to even fight.
-
Well, I'm gonna play in a few minutes!

I applied to the platoon. I'm using the nick prog_hume.

I'm gonna go against the grain and buy BF3. It's a bit like a holiday sale if I buy a Russian key, isn't it?

Having to choose between two girls is a poor reason to feel alone Erm, what I said before stands, you're not actually choosing between them.

Having been in the situation of still being in love with an ex for a long time, I can tell you that you don't want to get involved with that. She needs to get over her ex before she can really be in a healthy relationship. So IMO the best thing to do would be to back away from that. When you have, what you do with the other girl depends on whether you like her or not. But these are two separate situations, so treat them as such. Not going out with Girl A does not mean you have to go out with Girl B. Of course, then you're alone, but that can be the best solution.
