Huh, there really are no good programmers at all?

It's doubly genre!

I just realized Freedom was one of the fifteen books I got for cheap from Amazon, but haven't started reading because I should be reading epistemology and education theory.

I have a lot of love for Jane Jensen because of the Gabriel Knight series. However, I agree with Lob: Jensen comes up with really good big budget adventure concepts which don't really work scaled down. Gray Matter took ages and wasn't really successful because it adhered so strongly to old adventure game design but didn't have the budget to get there. I'll give it some thought. I might still support this. Robert Holmes' music for Gabriel Knight is magnificent, so it's good to know he's aboard.

I just lowered the difficulty for a bit and then was more prepared to figure out the twisted logic of this bit. Turns out you're harder to hit if you move slowly...

You think he worked the CEO like a puppet and made him lash out on Twitter (because he knew this would get people to buy his game), and is now raking in money because his game is now temporarily selling as well as a month ago? He must have made like $400 from this affair, what a master manipulator.

Jeeeesus fucking christ. I can't read this thread because I haven't finished, but I stopped playing for a while few weeks ago because of getting insta-killed on Tuchunka without warning. Now I can't get past that scene because it happens constantly and the game chose this moment to not autosave whenever you progress. Fucking 80s game design.
-
That scene didn't make even a tiny little bit of sense.

That classic science fiction was nevertheless probably written as genre fiction. A whole lot of were first published serialized in sci-fi magazines. Also, I don't really agree with Chris's assertion that reading more young adult fiction must steal time from reading proper literature specifically. YA fiction is entertainment focused, so it's in competition with other such works like most film and these days computer games as well. Someone having an impulse to read something light isn't just going to grab the nearest Dostoevsky instead. As a general trend popular entertainment is likely getting even more popular in comparison with art, probably because these days you don't need to have any taste for art to be respected.

I wouldn't call Leisure Suit Larry sexist, though stuff I've read from Al Lowe sometimes makes me think that's an accident. It's about a middle-aged virgin who has no idea what he's doing desperately trying to get laid. It's Larry who is the victim in those games (at least the early ones), not the women. I'm sure it get off course at moments but the premise isn't sexist. The humour is far cleverer than any game that combines sex and humour that I can think of. If Al Lowe intended to make a new game, I'd be interested, but I don't see any reason to remake the first game again. Actually, a fresher approach to drawing humour out of contemporary notions of sexuality would be much appreciated, not something that has aged so much.

Or maybe only read books that can be bought used for a dollar -
So it's a remake of Morning Glory with Harrison Ford?
-
There's a "Doggy Style Edition".
-
Oooh, and then in five years, they could remake it again. They can shoot for the record of most remade game.

Aww Apart from that, last night was a huge success. We ambushed a convoy, stole some trucks, shot a few cows, stole and Hind and flew it next to a carrier, and then we just sort of hovered there for a while. -
I wish I hadn't seen the last season. There are many elements in Lost that undermine what good there is, and the story arc of the last season is one of the worst offenders.

It didn't drag if you didn't get yourself killed earlier! -
They were pretty clever with lighting in Driver IMO. They used lights of different warmth to get the effect. It actually tends to happen quite often in photography, especially if you shoot in twilight with daylight white balance. All incandescent lights will appear orange and natural light will have a blueish cast.

I'm preparing by still not having ever started up the game and not planning to! Humm, there's a family thing on Sunday. I'll do my best to make it. I might be late. -
There's a very good Joan Cusack? I didn't know there were two.

Oh man, this guy. Kicking ass, taking names.

Honestly, I would say B is closer to 85, B- 80 and A is 90. There's surprisingly little room in the 0-100 scale.
