  1. Chris Crawford kickstarts a new game

    Chris Crawford's Excel -- with a twist!
  2. Thrik, I've been watching the documentary, and so far they've been pretty careful about spoilers. When the game is close to release, any one paragraph description with a screenshot will probably spoil you more. It's more about the background stuff and the people than the particulars. Also, Chris appears occasionally and oh man, that's Chris working at Double Fine!
  3. Counter-Strike Idle Terrorism.

CS is too tight. There's no play in the balance aspect. Any suggestion of pay-to-win would wreck it.
  4. Assange

Hey, let's do the Feminism thread again from the start.
  5. Oh right, that stuff is probably hidden if you haven't backed the game.
  6. Counter-Strike Idle Terrorism.

I just can't bring myself to pay for CS at this point.
  7. I wonder if it would be possible to use a similar animation system as Double Fine is using for their Adventure. That's also done in a similar way as animating a 3D model (probably the same software, skeletons etc.) but it's 2D planes moving around and bending. That looks good to me even though it's not hand-animated. They use a very different style, though.
  8. Idle Thumbs Motorcycle Club

How can that possibly be the same motorcycle
  9. Sleeping Dogs

I'm gonna let this lie. Or get it when it's massively discounted. I still haven't played Saint's Row The Third for more than an hour.
  10. You mean when they still show the entire scene? Sorry, but I really don't like the look of it in stills and in motion it's worse. EDIT: For instance, George shaking his head after the guy is shot. Just terrible.
  11. God I hate that cel-shade shadow. It never looks good. Even removing that would probably be an improvement for me. Also, this could be my memory fading, but in my mind Nico was reasonably capable and independent, but that line before they break the fourth wall makes her seem incredibly stupid and begging George to confirm what she just saw with her own eyes. How could George know more than her at that point? The question didn't seem rhetorical. But maybe she was always that way and I've forgotten.
  12. I don't understand that at all. The first games had really lovely hand-drawn animation. This just looks weird, forced and like puppets in a Parisian set built on the Moon. It's one of the reasons I could play more than a few minutes of the horrid "Director's Cut" version of BS1. All that charm and atmosphere that the first game had was just drained out.
  13. Doctor me up, Thumbs

There are a bunch of different hormones that can get affected by thyroid issues and the levels considered normal change from country to country for each of them. I think. My ex had some sort of thyroid issues, but the doctors refused to recognize them because her levels were just inside what's considered normal here. She would have been treated in Sweden, though... Although what she described was nothing like what you're going through.
  14. Far Cry 3

I dunno, turning Komodo dragon skins into ammo bags is just weird. And there's a perk that gives you the ability to kill dudes by jumping on them. Like Mario.
  15. Half-Life 3

Yeah, stuff like the physics, wood splintering and such, facial animation were simply breathtaking.
  16. Thirty Flights of Loving

"The Malfunction Junction" is a lovely name.
  17. DayZ

    Oh, you bastard
  18. Beneath A Steel Sky: Remastered

It's common in modern adventure games. If you want to look for things, there are hidden object games to scratch that itch.
  19. Beneath A Steel Sky: Remastered

Yeah, I love this game. Obviously it's not as clean as Lucasarts games of the time, but the atmosphere is really fantastic. It really succeeds in telling a story in the world like HL2 for instance.
  20. Beneath A Steel Sky: Remastered

Apparently the Remastered intro has different music as well, which is bullshit. Also, this isn't a strategy game.
  21. Photos of things

I just took a lovely, although short vacation in Estonia (Tallinn & Tartu). Going through the 600 pictures is going to take ages. But here's a picture taken in a prison that was closed in 2002:
  22. A freaky and horrible thing...

If you read even a page of that article, look at this afterwards: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-19281347
  23. Movie/TV recommendations

Really? It just doesn't seem necessary. And I like watching Bourne movies because I like to think I (that is, my face, not my physique) resemble Matt Damon, so it's like a power fantasy This one doesn't have him, so it's useless! Also, Nicolas Cage would be optimal for a Citizen Kane remake.
  24. Assange

When I hear 'revoked consent', I presume that's during.
  25. Movie/TV recommendations

    You ruin easily.
