Oh, they sure tried to teach me cursive at school.

Few of us write as much, so there's no time for handwriting to develop or any need for it, since we do not express ourselves through our handwriting to the same extend.

It's my new favourite verb.

No, it has a stupid comic book thing, but it's possible.

I really like those shots, Lacabra! They all have a thick atmosphere and the low-fi stuff works really well.

I love the guy who plays Zod. That's the only reason I'm interested in this movie. I really dislike the resent trend of turning old landmarks such as Star Trek into nothing more than stories about some guys fighting.

Are those tears of having fucked up or tears of realizing you've been fucked up?

To me, having never owned a 360, that looks like the 360 UI.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
brkl replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Movies are dead. Nobody's been able to sell a single VHS tape in the past five years. -
By the way, I wouldn't be posting in this thread if Sony hadn't managed to bloody win me over again.

People have been saying this about consoles for a long time I don't know if that's true with the way games are developed these days. They scale much better than they used to. My PS3 never turned out to be anything other than slow, no matter how long people claimed developers would eventually figure out how to make games for the Cell processor. Now both the consoles run x86 and we know that they use processors that aren't very impressive. The PC has caught up to next gen consoles already. There's no reason to think the games will run better because the case is fancier than on a PC. There'll be fewer random compatibility problems, but I don't see any reason the games will run faster than is to be expected on that hardware. As far as running loud or inconsistent, I've read a whole lot of stories about RRODs and my PS3 sounds really damn annoying with those little fans it has.

Reminds me of Gabriel Knight III somehow.

Someone should actually find out what it would cost to build a new PC with PS4 level hardware. It could be pretty cheap, since the processor and GPU don't need to be the newest generation. I mean, this is what RPS's tech guy says about a processor he believes is very close to the PS4 and Xboxdumb: He was testing a laptop processor of the same type, but with only four cores. However, it seems both systems are going to have some of the cores reserved for the OS like the PS3 does.

Zeus already basically said this, but don't think that not helping is the 'neutral' way to act because that's how you act with men. That we should be able to take care of ourselves with no outside help is just another myth related to how gender is perceived in our culture and stems from the same source as the damsel myth. No one can actually deal with everything by themselves and sometimes we leave our friends without help when they need it because it's such a taboo to offer aid to another man.

Those faces aren't very masculine at all. And in any case, Miranda is modeled after this lady: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Yvonne_strahovski_(cropped).jpg Nilin's voice actor has a stronger jaw than the character, but I wouldn't describe her face as masculine in any way either: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3334143/ If there's a problem it's that Bioware and other companies like to design every character with the same predictable body and face types.

Oh, okay. Don't worry, it won't happen again. The next time will be real.

I think this seems amazing. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=127346274 RPS link: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/06/05/the-crumbling-of-america-infra/ I really like what they are doing. It's about exploring decaying infrastructure. Like a contemporary Miasmata without a green monster.

It's kind of the opposite. The EU at least has laws to stop companies from trying to take away consumers' right to resell the products they purchase.

Oh! Maybe you have the kids put through heavy fighting training from a young age. They'll become great fighters, but later they'll be shitty parents because of their shitty childhood and their offspring will again have all sorts of problems. Put them up for adoption? They'll need really good parents, otherwise they'll grow up resentful of not knowing their biological parents. But the new parents probably won't be great fighters, so the kids still won't grow up as best possible fighters, they'll want to paint or something. And maybe your father is a great hero. That's some pressure to put on a child. It could affect him in a number of ways.

Making the heroes more than cattle allows you to bring up the nature vs. nurture problem. Arrange loveless marriages between two great fighters? They'll make you children who are physically fit but suffer from massive personality problems that make them really difficult to use.

That does sound like she found a way to make the break up as easy as possible for herself with no regard to how it affects you. It's possible she didn't do it consciously as she says, but we have some responsibility to be conscious of our actions and how they affect people, don't we? This is a good time to find new projects or hobbies. Get fit. Get a little crazy. Get to grips with the fact that the relationship is now part of your past and not your future. Try to let go of any resentment you might be left with. Don't think of it as five years down the drain. Relationships aren't something we get stuck in because there's a grand prize waiting for us if we manage to die before breaking up. I'm sure you got something out of it while in it, and anyway you've got a lot more experience under your belt you can use to improve yourself and possibly avoid some pitfalls in our future relationships. The last time I broke up, I made a system that composed generative music for any video based on factors like color, contrast, brightness and how fast those values changed compared to previous frames. Didn't find time for shit like that when I was living with someone.
