The thing with PAX is that participation sends a message and that message is that what PA does and says is OK by you. It shows that even if people cry out when PA act like dicks, when push comes to shove it doesn't matter, they'll take part in their events anyway. If you want to separate yourself from PA and the culture they represent, you have to put something on the line like Fullbright did.

You forgot the scene where the Enterprise's engines fail and it drops towards Earth from orbit like a penny dropped from two feet. Let's hope the Moon's warp core keeps chugging along.
  3. That time Gabe Newell hacked my computer

    Well, I think it's unlikely.
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

I finally saw Star Trek Into Darkness a few days ago and holy crap it was bad. It's incredible now how major blockbusters can put any kind of crazy incomprehensible bullshit on screen without anyone batting an eye, while ten years ago Star Trek Nemesis, for example, was mocked to oblivion for far lesser crimes against logic and common sense. Not that Nemesis is a good movie (although it had awesome Tom Hardy scenes), but this one isn't any better. Badly directer, cast, written and acted. Bad. Didn't like it.
  5. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Check the new episode to hear Peter McConnell talk about kantele, an instrument I had to play at school. It's a pretty sweet episode.
  6. Sir, You Are Being Hunted

    Very well.
  7. Sir, You Are Being Hunted

The way that you aren't given any tools to handle any situation at all unless you somehow luck into it is just really discouraging.
  8. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I don't want to know about Gerald's warts.
  9. Life

Also, don't say "BOMB!" on the internet.
  10. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I hated this. I wish Katie had spoken or something. 95% of those tooltips I missed because the bulk of items in the game have nothing special in them. It should've been a separate mechanic from item labels. I think Katie's actions are totally realistic for the situation. Her sister is gone and there's a massive storm out there. She could either forget about it (it's only her sister, meh) or try to find out what happened. Remember that the parents are on a trip and cannot be contacted. I'm sure you could play the game following just clues about your sister's life, not reading the stuff your parents left behind.

For that, make the images 8-bit grayscale first, then scale them down with the cubic algorithm or something. If you scale them down in two colour mode they'll look bad.
  12. Life

Stockholm has an Old town that's a tourist trap, but it's pretty charming. If the weather is nice you can take a little cruise around the delta nearby. Then there's the open air museum Skansen. That's probably my top recommendation. Although I haven't actually been there. But people say good things about it. Oh, and you should play CK II: The Old Gods to prepare for the trip.
  13. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

Sorry. I don't think that's truly a spoiler though. What would spoil the game is finding out how the different stories go before getting the chance to find out for yourself.
  14. Papers, Please

I took one of the three-ring binders out of Gone Home and used that.
  15. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

It's good to remember you don't actually find Sam's diary , you just hear bits of it before Katie reads it. So the entries don't just happen to be in chronological order.
  16. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I took everything out of the fridge and freezer and left it lying on the floor. Good game.
  17. I Had A Random Thought...

Yeah, I've read Flashback and it's such a shame. It's littered with political stuff that you could scalpel away to make the book better. They're not well written or argued, nor do they add anything to the story.
  18. The threat of Big Dog

    From the blog obviously:
  19. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

I had to buy it. Not prudent, but necessary to continue as a human being. EDIT: Paid for it, anyway. I suppose Humble will realize that I did eventually.
  20. Scanning line art

    Try GIMP.
  21. Breaking Bad

Can someone confirm for me that if I order Netflix again and use one of those plugins I can watch the new Breaking Bad episodes as they are released? I'm not bloody waiting.
