Very odd. Most games are more or less unfinished when they are released, but I can't say how Bioshock would be one of them. Haven't had a single crash and it runs better than I expected.

Cagney, the game keeps loading stuff into memory for some time after it lets you into the level. I have such slow memory and not a lot of it that it's apparent by most textures being almost blank for half a minute or so. That's probably what's happening for you.

Flying takes a shitload more energy than traveling on ground. The trend is towards vehicles that consume less. Bound to fail, and that's presuming it even works. If it flies 10ft off the ground, wouldn't you hit traffic lights?

They don't always have the Little Sisters with them. They can lift the Sisters into those portholes.

The wharf area is still better than any given area of FEAR. It's great. All of Bioshock so far is great and I wager I've played more than you have. Well, you don't really have to think about it. 2400+ is as fast as Intel's 2.4GHz. Of course, these days it's a lot more complicated with your dual cores, quadruple cores and whatnot. I've no idea which AMD processor would be similar to Intel's Dual Core E6300, if any.

My passively cooled 8600GT is not quite passively cooled enough, so I'll have to go and switch it to a noisy fucker version tomorrow. Ah well... At least Bioshock runs surprisingly well. I should get more/faster RAM and shit, but this'll have to do.
