American McGee's Alice 2! Or the Return of...they don't know.
brkl replied to MonkeyWrench's topic in Video Gaming
Isn't Alice like the only good game Mr McGee has made, after which he's been shoveling out horrible crap? He seems to be all talk. -
Hah, why is it that Galactica actors seem to appear in other series in groups? I kinda sorta liked the first two episodes of Dollhouse. It could turn out to be really good, but so far it's been merely watchable.

Go to Hell indeed...

We didn't see them in the first trailer either, did we? We haven't seen any gameplay. This doesn't mean the quick time events aren't there. I will bet you 1 pound they are.

Controlling a single character seems like a drastically different proposition to controlling groups, even if parts of the gameplay was similar. If C&C was entirely made up of the commando levels, it would not have been called an RTS, even if the engine was exactly the same. Turn based RPGs certainly have a whole lot in common with turn based strategy games, so much so that many early RPGs would fit the latter category much more neatly. (Ehm, I don't think I've ever played those missions. I think I saw it played once. You only control a single unit, right? Well, I'm sure you get my point...) EDIT: Oh, oh! Don't forget roguelikes! There's more to Diablo than RTS ancestry.

That's not the newest episode though! The new one is good too.

Ugh, it's everything we feared

Those legal methods wouldn't work for me anyway

That refers to the god coming from the Centurions, which has been mentioned earlier. Whether it's an actual entity, I don't know. Really liked this episode too. More events, less exposition. It's all good.

Ugh, you can see that on some storefronts in Glasgow.

Toblix, you're going to finish it. You're close. You will do it. You don't want me to lose all respect for you. I know that's important for you.

They said he was in another ship and had to be sent for. It's a big fleet, they need more doctors than Galactica's sick bay can hold.

John freaking Hodgman. So odd to see him in this after watching The Daily Show for years. Great episode, I though.

Kid after dentist.

It bothers me that this is now what the term progressive in music refers to.

And now the game has two utterly terrible names. I bought fear, and liked it too, up to a point. I never finished it, but I went back to the game occasionally and always liked it. Too damn samey levels though -- that's why I always started to get bored with it.

I would, but I'm in the exact wrong direction. So this is a symbolical couch-offer.

Not necessarily, and a movie will almost certainly have way, way more content in the same amount of time. There's a reason they cost millions to make.

Get off our lawn, Holland.

The concept or bad guy, I meant. Although that was fricken ages ago. Don't know why I confused them.

Well, yeah, Glasgow's only really cold because it's wet and because the flats aren't insulated properly. I'm used to Finnish weather, after all. I can definitely recommend Glasgow Uni, having studied there for this year as an Erasmus student. Edinburgh is... nice.

I saw The Wrestler yesterday, and enjoyed it. Still, I was slightly disappointed because it didn't Blow Me Away. But then again, I love the universally hated The Fountain... I'll say that the actors in The Wrestler all pull off absolutely stellar performances.

Thanks! I'm still a noob, though. Nowak puts me to shame. He uses the same camera, but to greater effect Ack, I'd dig up my Zombie Walk photos from Oulu to compare with Nowak's, but can't be arsed to find the dvd. Oh, and Glasgow is inviting! It's wet, cold and dirty, but also vibrant, friendly and inviting
