Ehh.. Do I have to just repeat my previous post? She's not the screenwriter or the director. EDIT: In reply to Wrestle on the last page.

Can we hide this thread somewhere?

What? How does it confirm that? She didn't write the episode. I'd be annoyed at Whedon for creating a series which would allow her to have a completely different character each episode, only to not make use of that. It's a... theoretically challenging role.

Impressions from playing Half-Life 2 just after finishing Bioshock

Yeaah, the hunters, sure. Wouldn't call it easy, though :/ -
I liked that as a kid (it's been 10 years already?), but I never read the book. Also, Dollhouse... More of the same I'd say. Still entertaining enough to watch, but eh...

Idle Thumbs 8: Green Lantern is the Blindfolded Fool

Well, how about this: You wouldn't have had guys shooting at you either and so no guns lying around. -
Aw, man, I can't remember the terms now after a couple of years ;D Umm, people with non-rhotic accents such as Received Pronunciation do pronounce the 'r' if the next word begins with a vowel: "hair and scissors" (random example) Ok, that's fine. Otherwise you'd have to use glottal stops. However, some people add this 'r' (there's a term for it) everytime a word ends with a vowel and the next begins with a vowel, which makes "law and order", for example, sound like some person called "Lauryn Order". It's weird. And interesting.

HL2 has HDR now? -
Oh yeah, I saw the first actual episode of Being Human. Poor. The actors had great chemistry in the pilot, but none at all in this one (because two were replaced).

Me too, I was talking about native speaker accents The Finnish (English) accents can be damn ugly, though cute too in some cases. At least I don't sound like I spent a couple of months in the womb being suffocated by my own umbilical cord, like the entire nation of Norway. PLUS THEY'RE ALL GAY TOO.
-
I don't like seeing English speakers argue about how some accent sucks for some reason, because the variety is what makes English such an interesting language, that's all. I didn't want to sound like I was wagging my finger though

I'll eviscerate you with a sonorant.

Aww, man, where's the rest of the episode

Saw the Watchmen. It's good. Surprised me.

Idle Thumbs 21: The Hypersonic Effect

You'd have to fight for control of margial territories while avoiding actual war. If you sparked war, you'd spark Armageddon and lose. I like it! -
Arguing 'purity' regarding an accent is... absurd. And what happened to all those Vikings who settled in Scotland, don't you think they had any influence? Why do you pronounce the word 'cow' exactly like the Swedes? Certain English accents, as well as the Australian and NZ accents, are non-rhotic -- they don't pronounce the post-vocalic 'r' unless it's followed by a vowel (I study this stuff). It's not that they pronounce something else instead.

ULTIMATE GAMER (only attractive people apply)

It's a British-American English thing. I was quite suprised when I realized some people say "turn round" instead of "turn around", and it still kind of sounds like turning into a ball to me, even though I mostly speak (crippled) British English. -
