I would make Manhunt into a pure snuff porn movie.

The GAF ones don't really appeal to me. With this exception: Oh, and this: Most others on GAF just look like regular box covers, except a bit worse. The best of the lot (not including the originals, which are all great) is the Hitman: Blood Money cover on Kotaku, IMO. Humm, okay, the later pages on GAF seem to have good ones.

What? Oh god damn it, I really enjoyed every episode so far.

How do you mean sadly?

Idle Thumbs 23: At the Mountains of Money

Woah, Terry Pratchett sounds exactly like a character from Discworld. More so than the people from the Discworld miniseries'.

There is an actual series of games about that, but they suffer from being crap.

Thanks for reminding me to read more Stephenson and Pratchett! Man, hardcover books are cheap here compared to Finland... I've paid 25e for a paperback System of the World, and now paid around 9£ for a hardcover Anathem.

Idle Thumbs 24: Shadow and Colossus: Back in Action

It's in there. Good work for no apparent reason -
Eh, stealing a candy bar is unethical and so is baby killin', so you place the same weight on both? I know you don't mean that, but wording it like that... Taking a piece of bread from someone who is starving is equal to taking a piece of bread from the King who is about to keel over from a surfeit of lampreys? And I just can't accept your thoughts on how the industries work. They don't get creative after finding hit products and making tons of money for the stockholders. That's when they try to copy the formula to make even more money. The companies are legally obliged to generate as much profit as they can. If something like Shrek 3 does NOT make money, they may have to find new and more interesting products.

Woah, that's damn photo realistic. My brother just replaced his video card, I'll tell him to try it. EDIT: Dammit, I wish it was about hunting dinosaurs.

Apparently this didn't sell very well at all in the first two weeks. Kinda odd, considering I almost picked up a DSi with this even though I've had past bad experiences with Nintendo consoles and portable consoles. Plus it must've had some penetration into public conciousness since it was mentioned in South Park. Plus it's apparently very good. Curious and disappointing.

What, demi-? Why play a demigod when there are perfectly decent omnipotency simulators available

Hitman: Blood Money (or why Steve Gaynor is nuts)
brkl replied to bistromathics's topic in Video Gaming
It's kind of like demanding that any answer to a puzzle should be accepted. The whole game is about figuring out how the level works. If you could do it in one go the game would last about two hours. -
Wait, that was the last one? I have to start paying attention.

It's not easy and not every clue is obvious or guaranteed not to be a red herring. Also, if you kill someone quickly enough after they've noticed you, others WILL NOT come after you. -
The Caprica 90 minute pilote is out. It's actually promising in many ways. I won't say much about it, but as a detail the Galactica composer has done some wonderful work for it.

That's funny, just yesterday in the train we were talking about how Britain is practically a police state... Man, the TV license demands here are by far the most threatening stuff I've ever gotten in the mail. For a damn TV license!

Uuugh, the third episode of Back to Earth is so bad. SO BAD. Just a terrible Blade Runner spoof, although much of it is verbatim copying without much effort to draw any humour from the material. The twist was okayish, really. Worlds above the rest.
-
Not to mention the Magic Negro. But otherwise a good, if not great episode. God I love the intro music.
-
Agreed about Death Race! Ugh, the second episode of Back to Earth was gut-wrenchingly horrible. Built around Blade Runner spoofs :/ Eww eww eww.

I've been watching them from the beginning (for the first time), and I don't know about the book, but the episode where everything is reversed was horribleterrible. God I miss the opening music from the first and second series. The one from series three onwards makes me queasy. But the actual episodes are good.
