  1. (IGN.com)

No worries, we all need to get it out of our system occasionally I wouldn't have taken the bait if I wasn't interested in this stuff.

Ah, OK, gotcha. I don't like it though. Dictionaries aren't meant to make communication more difficult, and this is making it more difficult to communicate the feeling of disappointment from a game that didn't reach its potential, whether that was expected or not.
  3. goty.cx 2009?

    Yup. Ol' 512x384 I think.
  4. (IGN.com)

Seems to be a pretty distinct difference in meaning to me.
  5. (IGN.com)

Depends on whether you define 'disappointing' as 'not as good as you expected' or 'not as good as you hoped'.
  6. Movie/TV recommendations

I rewatched it recently in HD. Nice to see all the details people could see back in the day in theatres. It's a magnificently crafted movie, with nice rounded characters and a love story that's not naive for once. Also, this time I totally identified with the "We'll always have Paris" stuff, which is new for me. EDIT: Batman: The Brave and the Bold is delightful. It uses elements of the old Adam West Batman and adds in a bunch of crazy fun. The first episode has a wormhole and aliens, the second has dinosaurs and the fifth has Merlin. It's well written, well animated and just a lot of fun.
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

I really liked Where The Wild Things Are. I've had zero contact with the original work. I thought the movie was lovely.
  8. goty.cx 2009?

I last played it about a year ago. I do not agree.
  9. Oh god, that page had the most intrusive internet ad I've ever come across, an ad for the Legion movie that took up 90% of screen real estate, you couldn't scroll past it and the X to close it only appeared after about 30 seconds.
  10. goty.cx 2009?

Guhh, I need to finish Outcast some day. I guess I'll have to start playing it from the start again. I think I was foiled by some bugs last time.
  11. Fucking PC gaming!

Yeah, but try to make that video on a console... After I started playing games on a console, the headaches they've given me have been pretty comparable to PC games, although this time it's not because of the architecture, but because the developers chose to make the games shit in specific ways.
  12. Far Cry 2

I personally thought the ending was one of the best ones I've come across. Korax, you killed my spoiler tag! That's interesting...
  13. Moon

I believe Tarkovsky's version is generally just called Solaris, like the others and the book. It just depends on how you want to represent the Russian name. My dvd says Solaris in any case.
  14. The Antisocial Network

I love the name of the company. OddMobb. Oddddmobbbb.
  15. That... That is idiotic. Just because crazy AAA publishers freak out about day one sales doesn't mean that would be a smart thing to do for an indie.
  16. Life

Or Safari, Chrome or Opera. Your link has intructions for them too.
  17. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

They have the upgrades though, which make a huge difference. And certainly saw tons of P90s when I was playing. Seemed to be effective, although of course I would never know.
  18. How much money do you think RARE has made for Microsoft since the purchase?
  19. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

I haven't played the MW2 multiplayer (or single player), but I played CoD4 for a while when I had access to my brother's 360. I didn't exactly like it, but that deathmatch itch needed scratching. The multiplayer is heavily geared towards giving the people who have played a lot all the tools they need and more to trounce the people who haven't, and limiting new people's choices to defend themselves. The iron sights in the game are badly designed, so for a while you can't even see where you are shooting until you get new sights!
  20. San Francisco

Yeah, Canada is crazy, I don't know why your ancestors (or just you, I don't know obviously) ever moved there
  21. San Francisco

...... -28C here right now, puny Englishman.
  22. I hope Black Mesa'll be released eventually so I'll get to play HL1 properly. I couldn't get into it when it was released. Just felt like a boring corridor-run after the intro.
  23. Yeah, that's probably it, toblix. It's a virtual camera though, so why does it have low dynamic range when it could be perfect?
