  1. That's why Kindle rocks!

Man, I've been tracking down sources for my Candidate's Thesis and most of them being pdf files I've been dying for an electronic book reader. Too expensive though
  2. Life

JamesM, think of it as dodging a crappy untrustworthy landlady.
  3. Post your face!

I admire the knot you made.
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

GAME is British, it's 25£, which is roughly $37. Downloads aren't always available everywhere, but you could try it.
  5. These weapons are better than nature!

    So are terrorists.
  6. Crysis on the iPad...cloud gaming.

Online shooters still have pretty serious problems communicating relatively small amounts of data fast enough to make the gameplay feel smooth. But that's just regular lag, not video lag which is so much worse. Think of clicking your mouse and seeing the gun go off half a second later.
  7. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

I'm not opening some damn .zip file!
  8. These weapons are better than nature!

There has got to be a better way to cut a ham.
  9. Recently completed video games

I always felt like Torment should have ended after Ravel's Maze. That was the story arc, and the stuff after that is not much fun.
  10. Lead and Gold

I'm with Twig. I wish I could say something to make him feel better, but I just can't.
  11. The threat of Big Dog

You say that, but cars do instead.
  12. Alan Wake

I don't see this game working as open world. Probably a terrific design decision to cull that buzzword. Shame about the 360 thing though, I'm not getting another console. Not that my current PC could run this anyway.
  13. Recently completed video games

That's a sweet green marker. I wish I had a marker like that.
  14. Fallout: New Vegas

Oh god Diablo 3 rainbow debate flashback.
  15. Fallout: New Vegas

There's an idea. I have to agree with that. A sunset can do marvelous things to a drab landscape.
  16. Alan Wake

Giant Bomb has a review and quick look out too. The light seems to be really integral to the gameplay. Also, the hammy writing is definitely intentional. Sami Järvi ("Sam Lake") studied English literature and you can see his love for genre writing in the games. Max Payne took on film noir in the same way Alan Wake mimics Stephen King-like horror.
  17. The threat of Big Dog

Future Big Dog is going to be sleek.
  18. Fallout: New Vegas

People used trees for everything for a long time. There are many trees.
  19. Flotilla

Dude, the whole game is like fifteen minutes. Just play it.
  20. The threat of Big Dog

    Not Future Big Dog though!
  21. Hock and Sock leaves Ubisoft

Chaos Theory is good then? Hmmmm..
  22. Fallout: New Vegas

Oh, I don't know. But it's not about realism, is it? It's more of a design question. I wouldn't know how to present a world like Fallout's with bright colours.
  23. Monkey Island 2: SE

I think I repeated that back when the game was released to a similar effect
  24. Hands on Deathspank

Oh man, I remember Deirdra Kiai from way back when I was 14 or so and hoping to make an adventure game with a vaporware toolset called SCRAMM.
