  1. Civilization 5

    Oh God, the addiction!
  2. Civilization 5

I still suck at Civ: I think I'm about to get pounded before AD at Chieftain.
  3. Civilization 5

Ahah, the Helsinki personality is "Irrational". You know, I'm actually not that pleased of our being reduced to a city state (esp. Helsinki, which is a relatively new city). I mean, we're the opposite really, a small population but a largish area. I would've preferred no Finland to this. It just feels off.
  4. Civilization 5

    Waah, I wanna play it.
  5. Good Old GOG

Christ. I never thought that could actually be the case. Not Good Old GOG
  6. Good Old GOG

If you had the lot downloaded at the time.
  7. Good Old GOG

What's happening is I can't download the games I bought.
  8. Life

There's an Annie Leibowitz photography exhibition going on, if that's your kind of fun Or you could spend a day in Gröna Lund (an amusement park). I don't know about any good places for music or stuff like that though.
  9. Civilization 5

I pre-ordered this from Direct2Drive for quite a bit cheaper than Steam was selling it, and now D2D gave me a code to feed into Steam, so the game is now sitting in my Steam list and I'm pre-loading it. Huh.
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

Bakshi's LotR > Jackson's LotR At least it had personality.
  11. PC purchasing advice

Andy always shoots me in the back in Bad Company 2.
  12. Fucking PC gaming!

Have you tried the compatibility modes?
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

Of course he did! It's a Darren Aronofsky film. I loved Shutter Island too, for all the reasons you mentioned.
  14. Life

4.7% ! It's okay since that means you can get stuff like Budvar, unlike in Sweden where you can get only horrid mellanöl.
  15. OMG! A dude with a PS3 and Bioshock 2! Steve, I can't tell you how much I want to play your DLC, but it's not enough to buy Bioshock 2 for PS3 when I know I wouldn't like it as much as for PC.
  16. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

The first moments of Duke 3D still work better than, say, Half-Life once you actually get around to killing aliens. It's got great pacing and great shooter gameplay. The jokes might have all been stolen but if that was all the game had going for it no-one would care now.
  17. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

I'd be surprised if there was anything left from 1997 after all the engine changes and such. And 13 years.
  18. Mafia II

Good story and characters, cars that could barely get up a hill and jazz.
  19. That's why Kindle rocks!

I was thinking more along the lines of whether Kindle likes to read stuff that wasn't bought from the Amazon store. What I'd really use it most for is the articles and stuff I need to read for my thesis.
  20. Mafia II

Unless RPS is lying, I'm not touching the game. I don't see what I liked about Mafia in this game at all.
  21. Movie/TV recommendations

In case you somehow didn't know this already, Grown Ups is absolute shlock. I was traveling when I saw it and needed to avoid the rain for a few hours. I guess I should have picked The Expendables. In any case I went in expecting mediocre but well produced comedy with big name actors and the occasional laugh. Turned out to be perhaps the worst film I've subjected myself to. Even the editing totally undermined the writing. I was blown away by how lacking every aspect of the film was.
  22. That's why Kindle rocks!

Nice to see the price go down. How saddled with DRM is Kindle?
  23. Back to the Future

I can't believe this game is real. This goes for Jurassic Park too.
  24. Mafia II

Man, years of waiting and now... Maybe their next game will be good.
  25. BioShock Infinite

Please, Far Cry 2 is hardly Gravity's Rainbow or Ulysses. Or even Heart of Darkness, the short novel its story is based on. It just takes one step away from the completely popcorn approach of most shooters.
