  1. PS3 PS2 Emulation

Bear in mind toblix that the european PS3s never had hardware emulation, so unless your planning on importing your choice is between software emulation in the older models and no emulation in the newer ones.
  2. Wisdom Tooth: Removed

I was lucky enough not to have any problems with my wisdom teeth at all, I think perhaps my dentist preemptively pulled out some other teeth to make room for them, which I guess was easier since it was completely painless.
  3. Got $6million spare?

It probably has amazing potential, but how will it ever reach the potential? None of the inputs he has connected to his setup can output 8.8 channel surround sound, nor can they come close to the resolution of his screen (the projector can't process HDCP so he can't even exceed 1080i). I doubt I would personally be able to tell much difference between a few thousand pound sound system and his multi million sound system, and the general display / layout is hideous.... In conclusion, I would only take it if it was given to me and then I would sell the majority of the components
  4. Off-Road Velociraptor Safari

Read the "How to Play" section and you might gain some insights..... (B for boost)
  5. Uncharted

Yes it is very clever, mario was all about elegantly funcitonal design, another example would be yoshi. The only reason he's a dinosaur is because it was an optimal shape for the SNES to utilise (I forget the details, it's somewhere in those "Iwata asks" interviews) The problem is I can no longer see bushes in mario any more. You have taken away the bushes!
  6. Uncharted

You couldn't keep that to yourself, could you Rodi? Ruiner! Now I am almost afraid to ask what the "half-tuck" thing is all about....
  7. Weird PS3/Obituary combo

I believe I can speak for alex and ben as well as myself when I recommend Heavenly Sword, we all thoroughly enjoyed it (as did alex's girlfriend). Uncharted also comes recommended from the same selection of people.
  8. Rez HD

Just out of curiosity..... do you not remember this toblix?
  9. What can I say?

Try Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, it's a great game. I concur on the approval of Heavenly Sword.
  10. Mass Effect

Sorry I should have been more clear, hacking and electronics function identically just for different objects. So there are three levels of hacking difficulty and likewise three levels of electronics difficulty, one is for opening boxes the other is for.... decrypting satellites and stuff. I think it's a bit lame that it's just a three tiered system for each, makes your level of skill irrelevant between tiers.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

Although they did merge the two universes late in the x-files life by having a crossover episode with lance henriksen appearing, I think it was to round off the plot of Millenium a little or something.
  12. Mass Effect

There's only 3 levels of hacking difficulty (essentially easy, medium and hard), visible on the skill levelling trees. So pump all your points into the appropriate trees for your tech characters as early as possible and you will never have this problem again. It'll be better for you to get stuff later anyway as items found in crates etc all scale according to what level you are when you open them.
  13. Mass Effect

There was one elevator that bothered me and that's the one on your ship, the normandy. It's just absurd as it travels at most 10 feet, there should just be stairs as that elevator would be a massive danger to all on board in an emergency.
  14. Riven

I'm pretty sure he means if you take an example of each from the same time..... otherwise that's a pointless comparison.
  15. 360 in HD

The main reason there are many different connectors is progress, they didn't all come out at once and manufacturers are obligated to support older connections so as not to alienate users with some older hardware.
  16. Mass Effect

The conversation is a checkpoint.... and for that part you needn't be tactical just shoot her non stop in the face.
  17. Mass Effect

I think you might be misunderstanding what is happening in the fight with benezia, her biotics are absolutely killer but if you go to the opposite side of the room to her she can't hit you and you will have a much easier time of it (take out three waves of guards then beat the snot out of her). I think you want to head right immediately to get to the location I'm talking about.
  18. Zero Punctuation

What you quoted above referred to the Rockstar post, not the post in this thread. It seems he wishes he'd been able to spot that this thread should have been walked away from. Correct me if I am wrong Wrestle. That's what you are missing.... context.
  19. Soul Calibur officially jumps the shark

No problem with them locking blades really, I mean how many magical weapons are in Soul Calibur?
  20. Soul Calibur officially jumps the shark

That was my immediate presumption also.
  21. Soul Calibur officially jumps the shark

In fact you can recreate what actually happened between them with stunning accuracy. Once Darth Vader came into existence I think it's probable that they were never even on the same planet.
  22. Paprika

I thought hebi was supposed to be representative of that, and in essence his "sci-fi" cronies were an exaggerated caricature of the advancements of the outside world.
  23. Paprika

Yeah I'll accept I shouldn't have questioned the mafia one, that one really is a clear intention. but I still reckon the sci-fi was so light as to be barely there at all. I guess I saw it as being primarily about Treasure Town and the interplay between the primary forces in control of it, mainly from the perspective of Black & White who have special arrangements with them. Also how development and outside influence affected all those things.
  24. Paprika

No, no that's not the lesson, the lesson was more about useful posts! I thoroughly enjoyed Tekkon kinkreet, I found it visually striking, rich in detail and colour. I also enjoyed the soundtrack immensely, very nicely complements the film. I wouldn't classify it as half those things even slightly.... just because a film has humour doesn't mean it's trying to be a comedy, sure it contains scant sci-fi elements and several mafia characters but that doesn't mean it's trying to be a movie specifically dedicated to those things.
  25. DS Questions

Any chance you'd like to give some kind of context?
