That's mean to 1995 Dan, it looks like an abortion of a game from 1995

It would have been a bit more weird if the 4 were the ones who actually KNEW the way to earth... considering they don't know anything at all. I think the quick jump to earth was just an implied series of jumps removed for time restrictions. If you got a direction for some legandary place you have been trying to get to for years, wouldn't you try and check it out asap? Especially with a fragile alliance hanging round your neck.

Oh also, about why D'Anna wouldn't reveal to whoever the 5th is that they are the 5th, she couldn't be certain how they would react so by keeping them among the hostages and not revealing anything until the other 4 were safely aboard she was ensuring she got them all together. Tigh's confession scene was awesome.
-
I just took it to mean that one of the five was on the Basestar which heavily implied Gaius, Roslin or Adama as the main candidates. Although if they went back to Roslin after the fakeout that would be a bit weird.

Don't know why they're bothering to brand it as a mid season break considering they are waiting til 2009 before they show the rest, idiots that they are at Sci-Fi. Yes an excellent episode, the tease moment was incredibly pleasing. I've been meaning to mention that it's possible Kara's being the "herald of the apocalypse" and "bringing them to their end" could merely refer to her actions leading to cylons being mortal.

I've watched the blu-ray version and have to say it's worth it, absolutely stunning series that really takes advantage of HD. Beautiful. But why the square head?
-
pay closer attention, that's not an escape
-
Well I reckon it seems awfully convenient because it is intentional on the part of the cylons mysterious creators. Make them immortal and then eventually pull the rug out from under them so that they value their limited lives greatly (see natalie's speech).

The summary I got from B5 was that

I don't think I've ever seen a story about cycles told without being the turn that breaks the cycle, the final result sort of thing. So from that perspective I would be much more pleased if BSG didn't go that route and did just end in a "this is what happens, it's not finished" kind of way. I wouldn't really call Babylon 5 a cyclic story either, it contains an important time travel loop, sure, but the major bulk of the story is completely linear.

You get health back from the damage it deals, I don't play TF2 much but I don't believe the syringe gun does that...
-
So ... have you missed them hammering "all this has happened before and will happen again" into our heads since early season 1? I'd be absolutely amazed and baffled if it wasn't cyclic. I've been harboring much of this theory since long before mass effect appeared ¬¬ I share many aspects of dan's theory, but with additions:

Comedy gold! thanks toblix for pointing that out

They really didn't, marek is clearly just insane.

Guillermo Del Toro didn't really do much in that movie, he just "presented" it. An annoying directors trend seemingly started by Quentin Tarantino. Put a label on the movie essentially saying "This famous director you know and like enjoyed this film" ..... oh good....
-
They'll probably just cast David Jason as Vimes, and then follow up with him playing Granny Weatherwax. It'll eventually end up like an Eddie Murphy film, with all the main characters played by David Jason. (I have nothing against David Jason, I just really think he was a) wrong for rincewind and already albert, so it's weird)

no need to apologise, I was just confused

What you call "music" in portal was ambient sound to me, sounded like the running noises of the facility. I never felt like music was playing until I encountered the radios, or that bit where you get the second portal gun.
-
I didn't comment on why it was there, merely that the game is mostly silent except for small pieces of music (just like HL2) and it is integrated into the world very well (unlike HL2). So.... I'm not sure what you are getting at.
-
Agreed, I find it interesting that the extremely sporadic music in Portal follows the same pattern, but fits so much better as it is piped out of the PA system (or from little radios)

I believe I gave it on the first page of this thread

I thought it was exactly the opposite, there is no destiny. It was all about unfulfilled expectations to me. Events don't always go as you might expect, sometimes things just happen.
