  1. Importing to the UK.

Play Asia is very good, got import phoenix wright 2 there for £15. I'm getting my Ouendan 2 from there too.
  2. Averting the climate crisis

I think it would be best to just stick with "the majority agree" or something similar, regardless consensus doesn't mean correctness I think it would be moronic to presume our industries and waste products are having no impact on the environment if only by considering the sheer volume produced (how can it NOT be having an effect). How much of an effect is certainly up for debate, but frankly I think it doesn't matter how much. Arguing the benefit of taking action is absurd, there is no downside to preventing us wasting energy, it means our sources will last longer and our infrastructures will have less strain upon them. Using renewable sources removes the concern that one day the fuel will run out, so just adapt and get moving on them, dammit.
  3. Bandology.org

I think he got it from Guitar Hero
  4. DLC: The right way

So, the lid has been taken off of Realtime Worlds' Crackdown DLC and it is mighty tasty. Word has it this will be out by the end of the week, or possibly early next week. Colour me excited, I've had lots of fun with Crackdown but this DLC is going to just blow it all wide open. Huzzah!
  5. Rusalka is so awesome!

    I think an attempt to create a positive thread ;;
  6. Minish Cap

I had presumed this was the case, it is a shame, but understandable (especially considering how long it took them to animate SFIII). Still maybe these sprites could be the basis for adding to in future games, iteratively giving them more animations, god knows they've re-used they're older sprites plenty of times. (yeah I'm a foolish optimist)
  7. Minish Cap

Yes indeed, do it, do it now! For the record, detailed 2D graphics = delicious, and if there are no more zeldas in that vein I shall miss them. However I fully expect to enjoy PH greatly. As a sprite graphics related sidenote, did people see those beautifully detailed sprites that capcom will be using in SFII Turbo HD Remix? I'm still holding out hope they have animations to match them.
  8. Eastern European Games

Whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute, you mean there are games that you like??
  9. Mmmmmm. Warm Goat entrails...

Read the quote.... Sony didn't slaughter the animal, it was pre-slaughtered.
  10. Mmmmmm. Warm Goat entrails...

I think it's even debatable as to whether they even ate goat... EDIT oooh even better, from the article: "The Sony spokesman said the animal had not been slaughtered for the event but had been bought from a local butcher by the Greek company hired to stage the event. What purported to be warm intestines was actually warm offal. " Most of the quotes of people outraged by what happened are clearly elicited by the Mail by giving spun half-truths to their quotees.
  11. Amazon UK Games

There is no sane reason for them to not ship GBA games as nintendo handhelds have never even had region locks.... for them to willingly ship things that consumers might not be able to use (DVDs and such) but not this is absurd. Tell them as much.
  12. Pokémon Diamond / Pearl

You don't have to use any particular pokemon to catch another, you just have to weaken the target so it doesn't resist when you throw a pokeball at it. But yeah there is a fairly complex rock-paper-scissors type relationship with the types of pokemon in the game in general.
  13. hmmm, a bit too specific methinks How about "The Text Editor is mightier than the FPS" ?
  14. A possibly ill-informed rant about HD displays

Ah thanks elmuerte! Additional knowledge GET!
  15. A possibly ill-informed rant about HD displays

Sorry Wrestle, no ideas here about the ludicrous native resolutions manufacturers choose, it is baffling... Spaff however, what you speak of can be due a couple of different things. 1) The movie is in anamorphic widescreen, which is wider than normal widescreen. Having read a bit more, anamorphic is something different to do with having one format for both 4:3 and 16:9, but it is used for wider than widescreen formats also I believe. 2) If it's broadcast, then it's a widescreen format being broadcast fullscreen with borders. (This will only be a problem on TVs that can't compensate) 3) PAL has more horizontal lines of resolution than NTSC, so an NTSC formatted film may display with borders as there is no info to display there. (Not a problem on HDTV sets with the standard resolutions as these are international) Wait, writing that last one may offer an explanation for the crazy native resolutions of some HDTVs. Perhaps it is a multiple of the PAL format (576p I think) to allow for more efficient scaling?? Anyway, a good TV should be able to deal with it all I have no borders on (non-anamorphic) widescreen stuff.... (However I have borders on the left and right when I run the PS2 in progressive scan, that I can't understand even a little).
  16. Guitar Hero 360

Well technically the full track list of the original Guitar Hero would set you back 8000 points as there's 47 songs total. As far as I'm concerned it's a pretty terrible price point.
  17. Guitar Hero 360

Well according to major nelson it appears to be today.... Although they are all songs from GH1 and they seem more expensive than I would have expected (liked). 500 points for 3 songs.... meh
  18. Okami

The Twin Owls in the Mountain dungeon is the penultimate bit, You'll know you're approaching the end when they say "are you sure you want to go beyond the POINT OF NO RETURN". You'll probably have about an hour left after that. (my clock time: 56 hours, with everything possible to do done)
  19. Save us John Connor!

Yes, a very enjoyable book! Already sort of made into a movie : The Omega Man was based on it, but is quite different. It's the film that has been parodied many times with post-apocalyptic mutant cults in hoods and stuff I think.
  20. I was under the impression sarah never thought it was over only john got tired of her "paranoia", maybe I need to rewatch 3. Admittedly you are right, between T1 and T2 would be a better fit for "The Sarah Connor Chronicles". Despite the name they seem to want John to be the major character, and a young child would be a poor focus for this setting (not that high school kid is much better).
  21. That wouldn't work.... it would be so new to john he couldn't even be involved. Nothing should have been stopped after T2 except the error caused by T1. Terminators can't be the cause of terminators being designed, it's a paradox, T3 does a good job of unparadoxing the whole thing. Problem I see with the series is that it can't have any terminators in it for it to fit in the continuity of the films. Also they clearly didn't succeed in doing anything except stockpiling guns between the 2 films, so I'll be interested to see what the plot is.
  22. The second quote was the BBC journalist, not an EA representative, naughty Ginger misrepresenting the information for your own agenda! also it's heresy
  23. Super Paper Mario

Ah yes, but your friend won't even have reached scorpius yet! I had exactly the same issue, my friend gave up before getting to the good stuff, which disappointed me a bit
  24. hahah, yes exactly. ok so I might have meandered to irrelevancy toward the end. I mainly wanted to point out that T1 suggests change MIGHT be possible, T2 shows it is, and T3 doesn't expressly show that it isn't, just that John fucked it up.
