Actually I did do what he described, last year in the Latin in the Lanes. Anyway on topic. Yes the street charity pushers are ridiculously inefficient for charities, I don't understand how they continue to exist. Perhaps they're hoping for greater exposure? But it's exactly the wrong sort of exposure. Once a friend and I were both caught out and gave our details, but the company was thwarted later when they phoned to confirm. We went on holiday to egypt so my friend got to say to the caller "sorry I'm in cairo, can't talk" and then they called me moments afterward and I said the same thing. I really wish I could have seen the look on that guy's face....

It was actually me I believe.

highly overrated or shit?

I take exception to the dreads remark.

They aren't eye sockets, they're merely skull contours (we have similar bits in the side of our skull). I think it's the skull of the original pac-man who definitely had no eyes (trust me, I work with him all day T_T )

I found that once I had managed to climb over the absurd wall that was Alma the game became really easy. Most of the bosses going down in one or two attempts. It actually got a little disappointing because of that ( I'm ridiculous), especially the final boss...

Miffy you do realise you are talking about different countries right? Also I think Thrik is more referring to the terrible parents that are rife in this country who will buy whatever game their kids want without a second thought. they suck.

For those who don't, brkl is referencing spielberg.

Bloody Students...

It's out in America at the end of next month, a 2 month wait is not really a big deal. It's mainly been done to pace their release schedule, an 8 month wait for Paper Mario is nonsensical and NoE are absurd

Yeah I pretty much share your theories wholesale. One thing that confuses me (and doesn't need spoiler tags, yay!) is how the 13th tribe was able to go this massive distance to Earth AND leave the religious texts that describe their route. Someone must have come back, so logically there must also be descendents......

Well edit:

Dan do you realise that

Games involving war with Russia, China and/or a Middle Eastern Alliance

Are you suggesting that the NES is a Hebrew miracle? Wouldn't that make Nintendo the messiah? -
Well it was Spielberg's insistence in the original trilogy that ensured the hardcore physical special effects. Hopefully he is just as forceful now!

Happy Birthday Dan..... have another face

His real quote says nothing about a "vision for the future of gaming", he seems to be talking more about intuitive natural interfaces using intelligent cameras. He's talking about being able to pick up a real object and have the computer recognise what you're holding and allow you to use it as you would expect for control. Games was a very logical example of its application. The story is basically removing context and adding hyperbole, bravo gi.biz

Yes, I'll add a third vote for Bart vs Space Mutants. I loved that game, while simultaneously being well aware that it was terrible.

No you're right, it has stuff very much like this, they call it their Euphoria AI engine. I saw a demo of it at GDC and it looks really impressive, way better than floppy nonsensical rag-doll animations. The NPCs clearly want to remain upright, and they will struggle to do so.
-
Yes I almost resent that you started your own birthday thread.... not enough to prevent me wishing you a happy one though. I await a fun weekend celebrating.

Well there is a possible reason for that, but it was never explicitly demonstrated
-
Hah, I didn't even realise we were getting this first, I had already resigned myself to NOE releasing everything a good 6 to 8 months later here for no good reason. (we only just got elebits - wait, sorry, eledees) I may look into this, but not in the immediate term since I just bought a bunch of stuff to keep me busy, heh.

Well the FMVs have nothing to do with capabilities, merely storage space. The GBA could have shown you FFVII's FMVs if it had a cart big enough to hold 'em. Unfortunately I don't know how big the largest DS cart available to devlopers is, but I imagine it wouldn't need to be as big as 4 CDs, since compression tech is a lot better, plus on the portable screen it's not as noticeable.
-
You seem to be putting the PS1 on some kind of bizarre pedestal. Go back and look at FFVII, I can guarantee you the DS is more than capable of exceeding that..... (although the FMVs might represent a size issue... dunno how many there are in FFIII)
