  1. Mass Effect

To be honest it doesn't seem like they've put any work into it so far. It would be astoundingly easy to do the following: stackable items, various sorting options, the ability to sell them in bulk, etc, etc. Bioware clearly just didn't try, and I think they are crazy for that as their inventory is mind bogglingly terrible.
  2. It's (technically) Christmas Eve!!!!

The second season diverges massively from the plot of the second book, so it would be weird and difficult for them to bring it back in. I would normally find this to be a cause for concern, but the second season of Dexter was superb, so I have great faith in the TV team. (note: I have not read the Dexter books, the above is second hand information)
  3. The image is fine for me, are you sure you aren't misunderstanding what the image is Dan? Parody of Post-its the sticky labels.... I could see how you might think "Post-pics" is an image hosting company
  4. Holy Shit!

Hey don't look at me, I was just explaining what rusalka saw first!
  5. Holy Shit!

ginger, look at the man's wrist just to the left of christina.
  6. Crysis

The suit that you wear and the HUD, fine they require design. But the weapons, vehicles, enemy soldiers and buildings are all attempts at recreating something that already exists. There is no design work there, just complex tracing I mean take a look at their comparison shots of real life vs crysis and tell me they didn't just copy what's in the world as closely as they could.
  7. Opening credits

Most TV Show DVDs have chapter markers at the end of the intro sequence so you can skip them with ease..... (Also yes Dexter's intro is awesome, is Mad Men a good show? I know nothing of it)
  8. Fallout 3

You want to set a variable in a game engine to near infinity?? madman! I don't think I know anything about focal width, I thought it was more to do with depth of field and the internet refuses to elaborate on it, I don't believe any game engines have it as a settable property though. As SiN says, isometric really isn't worth it, it's a constrained viewpoint....
  9. Fallout 3

I thought they said it was going to be as fast paced as you want it to be with a user enforceable turn based sort of thing... the VATS system or something. Also it would be pretty bizarre if anyone allowed you to switch from first person up to third person and then to isometric, since it would have to change how the world was rendered entirely....
  10. I'm in ur xbox profile stealin ur friends

It is a problem if you replace the console, but when you upgrade the HDD it comes with a cable to migrate everything from one HDD to the other, which I believe includes its "identity" so to speak. I could be wrong of course as I haven't done this, you'd hope they weren't THAT stupid though...
  11. I'm in ur xbox profile stealin ur friends

The point is they are trying to encourage more users to upgrade to the 120GB HDD.....
  12. A warm welcome to our latest forumer...

Yeah I always think that the majority of members on this forum are too small.
  13. So Metroid Prime 3 is released today

Actually that's in place for every boss, retry puts you at the start of the battle. MP3 does require you to beat 2 bosses at the end, and the retry point is before the first. The first is very easy so as not to be a consideration though.
  14. I believe you can't get all the stars without first beating bowser, as when I beat him it unlocked
  15. PS3 or XBox 360?

It's blu-ray region free. Also the PS3 does have free demos and small downloadable games on PSN too spaff
  16. You Can't Spell Assassin Without...

She's a major part of the *TWIST* scif-fi parts of the story.
  17. It doesn't make sense though, as you don't choose where to save the file. She'd have to have specifically chosen to delete your file .... Malicious!
  18. Qucik question about java :)

Ok so you have an ArrayList, I'll call it objArray, and each object in the list has string s1, string s2 and int x. Your new ArrayList I'll call stringArray. for (int i = 0; i < objArray.Length; i++) stringArray = objArray.s1; I think that's the kind of thing you're after, there's probably more efficient ways of doing it though.
  19. Rant: Getting The Short End

Heh, if that question isn't ironic it kind of misses the point. If a game is mediocre it should be made better, if cutting parts will achieve this then that's a good idea! But then perhaps this game might seem too long only because of its mediocrity. If a game is excellent and complete, then adding spurious content could very easily spoil it, so should be considered very carefully. Of course some games just end at the wrong point, Halo 2 famously ends in a stupid place (especially considering the marketing campaign). It works both ways though as personally I feel that Bioshock should have ended way earlier, the whole last segment really disappointed me. My position is that a game should only be as long as it needs to be to fulfill its purpose, to contain a complete well paced experience. Neither long nor short are inherently bad or good.
  20. Guitar Hero III (and demo!)

He would lose, you have to attack the boss to make him fail otherwise he plays perfectly. I've only seen the Tom Morello battle, and frankly I think it's a good thing the song isn't playable outside the battle.....
  21. The IT crowd shouldn't have been abysmal, judging by the ingredients that go into its creation. Sadly it is an ultimate failure, extremely tired and obvious jokes delivered badly by awful characters...... I find it wholly unwatchable, and its missed potential is painful.
  22. Portal

Done all the advanced maps and got golds on all the "fewest portals" challenges, but goddamn are the "fewest steps" challenges hard (well the first one is crazy hard anyway) got a gold on the second one of those though.
  23. I also have both to give away, PM me and they are yours.
  24. Gaming semantics

The Half Life series plays very differently to Quake and both of those play very differently to say... Rainbow Six, yet all of these are FPSs, so how you can claim FPS to be defined by one type of gameplay or how it feels is beyond me. Oblivion would not be categorised as an FPS for the same reason as Tomb Raider is not categorised as a TPS, shooting is not the primary gameplay element. I think it's more about the balance of what you can do in a game, rather than a small subset (i.e. whether or not you can shoot). If you disagree with that first statement then fine, but that only goes to show that what you are arguing is something completely subjective. Objectively GoW is a TPS and objective categorisation is far more useful than subjective as it means the same thing to everyone.
  25. Gaming semantics

Would you seriously not tell people that Doplhins aren't fish if you heard several distinct groups claiming they were? (sorry to keep stealing your analogy nappi, I just though it applied so well) I realise Gears feels more like some FPS games to you than any TPS games you may have played, but TPS is a fairly small genre currently. Some games across different genres do play similarly, no reason not to allow TPS to grow as a genre. Also while you are saying you have heard enough people use it that way to accept it as a change in language, I don't know anyone who would refer to it that way. A handful of personal experiences can't really be relied on as proof that language has changed or not. Your example of B-Movie is a good one as I had no idea of the true origin, I imagine the majority of people don't. It is incorrectly used, and I think it would be hard to impossible for anyone to contest the new use as being an evolution of language (especially since the new meaning can be found in dictionaries).
