  1. Bann Monkeydang

I'm starting to think that Monkeydang was a practical joke by the administration in order to keep us annoyed and entertained. Jake, any chance of a "I played Monkeydang's fan made Monkey Island game, and all I got is this lousy T-shirt" shirt? With Mr. T in the back, of course.
  2. Because everyone is making games...

Can't download it... long story... film-noir... But I give you:
  3. PxG, a gaming show that's so... painfull!

I don't watch Fox Kids (not because it's mainly for kids, but because I don't receive that specific channel, stinking cable company!). But anyway, remember this?: http://www.consolevania.com/ What is this, anyway? And why did I find it on this site?
  4. Lava™ lamps

    Wow... 8 of 12, that's just... wow.
  5. Announcement

You lie! The weather is never good in California (I like cold and cloudy weather ).
  6. Happy Birthday, Yufster!

    Happy birthday!!!
  7. The XBOX 360 revelation thingy

I didn't see the actual thirty minute commercial, but I did see a one minute talk about how "cool" and "hip" it is. I may not be a big shot reporter with a degree from Yale who puts on too much hair jell and thinks that the majority of rock/pop/rap/etc. groups from the '80s were talented musicians and that Wall Street was a good movie! But I am an opinionated teen-ager who listens to The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, James Yorkston, The Doors, who thinks that Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums are some of the best movies ever made and if this is what to be expected from video games in the next generation it may as well be a toilet because it's going to be one (if it isn't already). But I digress, anyway, these are my thoughts about 360 (which is exactly what Microsoft did, a 360): Appearance: An over zealous toaster with the possiblity of being a high tech machine that'll collect dust and get that Xbox one look. Controller: I'm a little skeptical about the idea that it's only gonna be wireless. I own a Wavebird and I think that it's great playing without the cord, but it needing batteries every houndred hours or so is an expensive nuisance. I know that Nintendo and Sony are gonna do the same thing, but if the controller needs batteries to function I disapprove (not that my opinon matters), we need options with such a thing. Design: Didn't play with it, so I can't say. Games (and graphics): Kameo: First it was on GameCube, then Xbox, and now Xbox 360. Are they even developing it or are they just teasing people by saying "It's gonna be done soon, so buy the console"? It looks good, I always thought it looked good, but for an experienced and rich company like Rare developing a game for five or six years and still hadn't finished, that's not quality control that's just sad. Graphics: http://www.jeux-france.com/news10042_-maj-kameo-le-magnifique.html This is next generation? The last picture is the only impressive one. Perfect Dark: I disliked the first, so I won't bother with the second. Graphics: http://www.jeux-france.com/news10036_perfect-dark-zero-se-devoile.html The hairs on her head aren't even individually made, being published by a company who pretty much said; "graphics are everything" with a system that's supposedly a thousand+ times stronger than its predecessor, it's sad that they even didn't bother with such an anticipated detail in the graphics (not to mention the meticulous and brutal job that's needed for such an anticipated detail). Blue Dragon: I can't say anything about the actual game or graphics yet, but I imagine that it's gonna be quite good, and I can rant about the character design : http://www.jeux-france.com/news10053.html I never liked Akira Toriyama's style, every character looks the same (especially if you compare them to his previous designs), I understand that he's a respected and imaginative man, but him being the character designer is really not something that appeals to me. Condemned: This is next generation? Graphics: http://www.jeux-france.com/news10046_condemned-se-devoile-en-images.html This is next generation? I really don't care much about shiny next generation graphics, those who do are just fooling themselves with the notion that it'll really improve their gaming experiece (not to mention that it's the idiot's way of thinking). This console seems to only slightly improve the graphics of games and Microsoft seems to want that to be their message for the next generation (they already did that with the current/previous one, that's why it's a 360). That's why I emphasized the graphics. Shame on them! Shame! :mrt:
  8. We made this game...

I can't download it because Big Brother will be mad at me (I really mean my big brother and NOT the government), it's a long story best told in a flim-noir style. I like the idea and screenshots so I give you a: Keep it up.
  9. Blackspotsneakers anti-corporation

It's not a real shoe 'til it gets an endorsement deal with an NBA player.
  10. Really? Curse the foul luck that lingers in this beloved site! CURSE IT!
  11. The XBOX 360 revelation thingy

What are you? An MTV/Microsoft employee?
  12. You forgot to make a shirt, now that will be something. I gotta say; this is one of the most surprising things that I recently encountered. Also, I like the Hawt th0ng.
  13. Yufster will you marry me?

I'm sorry if I offended you. I just like joking around, it makes the forum experience more enjoyable for me. I also didn't even see a picture of you, all I saw was a forum in a Buffy fansite and you saying something about something. So if you thought I'm talking about your appearance or something similar, I'm very sorry. I really ment nothing by it, and again, I'm very very sorry.
  14. This guy fucked up

Did he do it for world peace? Or what?
  15. Yufster will you marry me?

Am I invited to the wedding? 'Cause if I am someone needs to send me an air plane ticket, a banjo, a monkey named Dan, and a date. I like Rorry from Gilmore Girls, could you set me up with Rorry from Gilmore Girls?
  16. Game.Net takes over Spain?

If they'll make a version of the site with ancient hebrew I'll be impressed. Huzza for Spain and other spanish speaking counties.
  17. Xbox's J Allard revealed

Did any of you stop to think that he may have a thin, bald, Matrix loving evil brother named Gralious, who wants to destroy him to finally fulfil his diabolical machinations of world domination? Much like Microsoft. And besides, he's no Reggie Fil-Ames (I'm positive I misspelled the guy's last name)
  18. Boycott Star Wars III

Have you seen this? http://gorillamask.net/americanjedi.shtml I'll join his army, but for different reasons.
  19. Tooning In: A trip down the memory lane

This may not be Video game related, but this site has such a Mr. T fan club I thought some of you may like it. http://www.agonybooth.com/extras/mr_t/medallion/ I found it quite funny in the first three pages, after that it kinda lost it.
  20. Deadwood

HBO is hardcore! That's why. The show never really appealed to me, I find it to be Oz set in the wild west (but it's definitely better than Oz, Oz was like a violent soap-oprah). The funny part is; half of the characters can't read yet they utter words like "capricious" (the only time I heard someone saying the word capricious other than Deadwood is in one of the court scenes in The Aviator) and "plenipotentiary" (they probably never said it, but still). You should see the comedy in it and not the historical inaccuracy.
  21. Xbox's J Allard revealed

I think he should get a job as a spy for the CIA, just look at him, he's a man of a thousand faces.
  22. Moral ambiguity... or something...

Is this thread about Chipotle or offering a helpful hand? Anyway, these kind of events occur in my vicinity every month or so. I always try to help, not just because it's the right thing to do, but also because I know if I fell and hurt myself or get into an accident and needed help and no one would care about my dire situation and go about their daily routine I'll be devasated. When I was six or so I noticed an askew sewer lid, I of course had to followed my boyish curiosity, so I steped on the lid causing it to slightly open, just enough for my leg to get stuck in the freashly opened sewer hole. People walked next to me and none of them offered me help. That taught me a lesson in life; always help, because one day a similar accident will happen to you.
  23. Sequelitis

Micky Mania on the Mega-CD (or Sega-CD) was an outstanding licensed game, in fact, it made the Mega-CD worth buying. I can hardly think of a game in its time that can compare to its production values, its ability to imitate the classic Disney movies, and the love, I can't forget the love. The fact that a game is licensed doesn't mean it's gonna be bad, the problem is that they're usually made for avaricious purposes. If the developers care, and the publisher cares, it can be as good as any classic. For me, Micky Mania and Sam & Max are prime examples (also, Balder's Gate. Those damn D&D copy rights, I hate them so!). Some of the finest games ever made are sequels. If it weren't for sequels we would never have had Zelda Ocarina of Time, A Link To The Past, and The Wind Waker. We would never had Mario Bros. 3 and Mario 64, Yoshi's Island, Monkey Island 2 and 3, Day of The Tentacle, Paper Mario 2, Final Fantasy VIII and IX, etc. When they start over doing it with needless sequels and spin-offs (like all those needless Mario and Final Fantasy spin-offs that they're making these days) the problem starts, and the Idle-Thumb, Grumpy Gamer discussions begin. Activision is one of those companies that seem to only care about profits, Tony Hawk stoped being appealing to me when the "THUG" thing started, I never liked anything else that was published by them. So again, I'm not surprised by their decision to make sequels.
  24. Worst show ever?

The second alien song blew me away. Don't worry they'll get what's coming to them in hell.
  25. GDCTV - Molyneux on moving gameplay forward

I like Molyneux's personality as a game designer who wants to improve with every game much more than I like his actual games. The Movies was quite nice and looks to be fun but these type of games never appealed to me, usually I play them for a couple of hours 'till I get bored with them or in most cases frustrated. Black & White 2 didn't really do anything for me, I like the simplicity of it but that's pretty much it. The Room was very nice, I really don't care if it's only a demo I found it to be a real look at a proper physics engine. Half-Life 2 was cute, but The Room is the way it should be.
