Oh shit, I see. I'm behind on my podcasts. I sent that like 3 months ago. Weird. EDIT: And Subbes, I make neologisms because I am studying to be an English teacher. I can't help myself. I figured that as the people who spread terms like "abilitease" and "winchime" they would appreciate the word.

Really though: No amount of googling my name and the word "Boondongle" is helping me understand why there is a thread on Idle Thumbs with my name. What the fuck is happening?
-
Seriously: James, explain yourself. What the hell?
-
...I'm incredibly confused right now.

Happy birthday, sir! You do damn good work around here, providing us all a place for our nonsense.

Is it Alex Ashby? Is he doing stunts? Man, I really wanted to find a gif of this that I used to have, as the youtube has the name right in the title. I was hoping to pose a "who's that Thumb?" on this one: Ho2Q0LE-gNc Oh well, the video is up now. Anyone from back in the day still have the gif? I think it was originally Rusalka who posted it...

Oh shit, Pirate's body has started splitting off chunks with their own independent interest in the forums...

Oh, the irony of not knowing who Famous is on sight...

It has definitely not been (if anything it's gotten worse), but I like the games enough to look past it anyway.

BECAUSE IT'S HIS. Don't try to tell him what to do with his couch.

GET OUT! THE SKYRIM IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!!! :zoid:
-
Wow, that is beautiful. Good work, team. Exciting as hell!

2 would be the one I'd go for. Maybe not nursery though. Something like pretending I'd left her locked in the car for a week.

If you get all the way to Calgary, I'll buy you one.

So in my efforts to leave my increasingly shitty job (good friend of mine got fired without cause on Saturday morning, in the latest news), I applied at a Starbucks out of desperation. They interviewed me today, and decided to offer me a supervisor job right off rather than start me at the bottom. Pays almost as much as I'm making now, plus they'll cover some of my tuition as part of their corporate policy. Because they're not starting me at the bottom though, I'll need a second interview with the district manager before they can officially offer me the job. On top of everything else, the place is four blocks from my house. I can think of far worse ways to spend the next year and a half while I finish my degree. I'm still sad as hell about what happened to the theatre, but I think I feel ok about this. At least I'm landing on my feet.

I counter-funded for orange and teal.

Man, I've been mumbling Goldblum like crazy lately. It must be going around.

I was thinking the same thing when I donated. "Well shit, I'm getting the game for $15, and lots of other stuff for paying more than that. I wonder who will buy this when it comes out if everyone is getting it now." It's certainly going to be interesting to see how that shakes out on Steam when it launches. Still, exciting! It's been a weird couple of days to be gone from most internet stuff. I logged into the U of C's wifi yesterday solely to ask a question for class. Today I go online and see that since Wednesday afternoon Double Fine has gone from 0% of their goal to 350%. Good on you, internet.

That must have been it. Thanks! That'll be really helpful for me.

What are we talking about playing it on? I have it on Steam and would be happy to give it a go with someone. It just doesn't feel right single player.

For a class, I'm required this week to look up technological resources for literacy education. I started thinking back on something that was mentioned on the podcast a long time ago, a game that generated levels based on text that you entered into it. As I recall, these levels required to you go through the text that you entered and contact every word, encouraging the player to read along as they played. Am I making this up? Does it actually exist? I swear that this was talked about at some point, and I think it would be a pretty cool thing to bring into a classroom situation. Anyone able to come up with a name for me?

Happy birthday, Wrestle! Was wondering if this was going to be on the forum or just twitter. We've been missing you around here. Good to see you're around to see this! (also, I think you may have been part of the first thumbs multiplayer games I played as well. I miss playing shit weekly. It actually made my Live subscription worth it.)

Just give him a chance. If it's episodic, we can always ditch him and start over on part 2.

Give me a $10-ish a brain experience! Maybe the fist episode could drop a hub world with a tutorial brain and the first real one, and then each subsequent episode drops a new brain or two into the mix? Armchair game design, that'd be how I'd like to come at a Psychonauts 2.
