  1. DOTA 2

Hahaha. One more reason I love this place. Someone would actually call dibs on a beta key for someone else. Awesome. Hope it lives up to your expectations after all this time, Pat.
  2. Giant Bomb Joins GameSpot

Is this to replace the Bugle? They made out OK under News International until they got dropped a few months back. I guess they need at least one irreverent and inexplicably (for News International) left wing podcast.
  3. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

I'd be down sometime. I picked this up during a Steam sale but have yet to play it.
  4. EDF: Insect Armageddon

I had a great time with it. In fact, I just learned that I'm not scheduled to work this Sunday at all! I'm in for an hour or two of EDF again this weekend!
  5. EDF: Insect Armageddon

I have no idea! I just wanted to check if what we saw was the real ending! Turns out that there's one for each difficulty, Normal, Hard, and Inferno. We saw Normal, which is the shittiest ending. There are two better ones, but in the hopes of earning them for myself I resisted clicking on the youtube videos to watch them. Gotta level up my Jet dude and get there myself/with you guys!
  6. EDF: Insect Armageddon

Just played through the "bad" ending with 'blix and Wrestle. Good game. Very fun with two others. Unfortunately the whole "new job" thing means I won't be available Sundays after this week, and thus may never see the other two endings. Still, glad I did it. Well worth the $15 that it cost me. Everyone, give it a try. Just make sure you have someone to play with. The offline mode is kind of balls.
  7. Mass Effect 3

Though I disagree (Sure, I guess those plot holes exist, but none of them bothered me at all until I read that thing. Now that I know about them, meh. Still loved ME2), I feel I should point out that you've been featured in this week's Sunday Papers. Grats!
  8. Sim City V

I think I fucked that up...
  9. Stacking

Yeah, I knew Grubbins on Ice was included with Costume Quest, that's why I asked about Hobo King. Good to know! I bought but never actually played that on 360, so it sweetens the deal of replaying it on PC after it goes on sale to be able to go through all the content without screwing around getting my 360 set back up. Yes, set back up. I'm now that much of a PC guy. Although I do want to play Gears 3, so it may be worth it.
  10. Sim City V

It sounds like the Deluxe Edition just lets you turn your city into Vegas...
  11. Stacking

That is a totally excellent deal. Does the Steam version have the Hobo King DLC included? Either way, I've played through this on 360, so though some stupid part of me is tempted to add this to my Steam library, I can't justify doing so until it's on sale for $5 or less. That said, this is a great deal if you haven't played it somewhere else first. Fantastic little game. Now I just need them to put out Trenched/Steel Battalion. That's the only one of the fortnight games that I haven't already played somewhere else.
  12. Yeah, who wants to talk to those jerks?
  13. Live Penguin Cam

I thought this cam was from the San Diego Zoo?
  14. Steel Batallion: Heavy Armor for Kinect

    Uh... 3D Dot Game Heroes?
  15. Steam Box

You could eBay a PS2 copy?
  16. Halo 4

What difficulty did you play it on? That was my opinion of Halo back when I was still playing them on Easy. The AI doesn't get a chance to shine when you're killing it right away. I stepped it up to Heroic around Halo 3, and have really enjoyed the last ones that way. Amazing how much a difference upping the difficulty level in that series makes for enjoyment of the game. A lot of people will tell you that games aren't meant to be played on Easy, and for the majority of games I consider that bullshit. Play on Easy if you want, what the hell does it matter to me how you enjoy your game? Halo though, it really changes the dynamic of it. If you still enjoy playing Halo on Easy, there's nothing wrong with that. When someone tells me that the games are too simple for them, the first question I ask is "what difficulty did you select?" That criticism really does disappear when you ratchet it up a bit.
  17. Giant Bomb

I enjoy it. I really like a lot of what they do for subscriber content, specifically the Random PC Game features, where a few of their guys spends an hour or two playing through a reasonably old PC game (last edition was Mechwarrior 4) and commenting on it as they go. They accidentally played through all of Phantasmagoria in this way a couple of months ago, and it was pretty fun to watch them play that whole game in a few hours with commentary over it. Spread over a few nights, or course. I doubt I could watch that much in one go, but it's nice to have as a way of winding down after work.
  18. GDC 2012

At least we'll finally know if that picture in his avatar is him...
  19. Giant Bomb

Yeah, that's his house you're seeing. Except for that one he recorded in a Vegas hotel room.
  20. EDF: Insect Armageddon

...where the hell do you find these images?
  21. EDF: Insect Armageddon

I meant the two player was because Wrestle's game was full. When it was first proposed I thought the three of us would be teamed up rolling through future-Detroit fucking up everything. Turns out Wrestle started a game with two non-forum scumbags (seriously, if they're so great why don't they post here?) and we had to go with an AI jerk. It was still thoroughly enjoyed, 'blix, don't worry. I treasure our virtual bro-dates.
  22. EDF: Insect Armageddon

Just spent a good 2.5 hours playing 2 player with 'blix because wrestle's game was full. We went from mission 1-1 through to mission 2-3. I got to level 3 for the Jet armour, while 'blix got to the same for the vanilla (trooper?) armour. It was pretty great. Those of you who played Grand Thumb Auto back in the day know the whoops of joy that come from 'blix when a huge explosion goes off, and those are plentiful in EDF. The excitement is infectious. The bit of time I spent playing single player before didn't capture nearly that feeling. Good times indeed. I have one more Sunday off before I have to work most Sundays for a long time, so I will probably spend the same time next week playing EDF as well. Cory, you're welcome to join in if you have it on Steam.
  23. EDF: Insect Armageddon

I hope you don't need the SP. I played about 15 minutes of it and figured I'd wait for co-op. On a logistics note, are people playing with mouse+keyboard or gamepad? I'm wondering what the way to go with this one is.
  24. I'm pretty sure he kicked down the banister at Spaff and Yufster's place. I may be wrong, but I remember a picture of a guilty looking Remo standing next to a messed up staircase.
  25. Broken forum icons

All that kickstarter money means they can afford NEW icons! Animated ones! It'll be like a callback to the angelfire days!
