My dad had a commodore 64 in his home office when I was a little kid. I spent so much time on that damn thing.
-
I only just got it. Will do so quite soon.

Ah, fair enough. I can see a thing that asks me for a password if I click on it, so I'd assumed there was one. No biggie.

...they haven't sent me my password yet. I can only hope that you aren't also talking shit about me while I wait to get access.

Hey guys, let's use the Phaedrus forum to all talk about Rodi!
-
Are any of us NOT Phaedrus?

So? As one of the most owned-by-Nintendo people out there, I must profess my love for this game. It's pretty damn sweet. Anybody else out there playing it?

I just submitted my very last homework assignment for the year! Everything is awesome right now! I'm going to a friend's house tonight for a night of board/video games and beer that we have actively planned to go until about 6 tomorrow morning, at which point we will begin making a giant hangover pancake breakfast! Also, I have a week off now before my practicum! I'm working every day of it except for tomorrow, but my new job is pretty ok, so that's fine. Plus, I'm off around 1pm each day, so afternoons and evenings are mine. ...things are looking up right now, which is kind of a new thing after this past year spent its time repeatedly kicking me in the balls. I feel good.

Isn't Alpha Centauri like $6 on Gog? I bought it the day it came out because I was super into it in junior high school. Apparently all my strategy skills have evaporated since then though, because now I can barely make it three turns.

As a guy who sucks at all things strategy, I have always enjoyed hearing you guys on the GWJ cast, so I'm glad to see you here! I may need to check out some 3MA. Any suggested starting points?

I quite liked it (deliberately ignoring snobby comments about Battle Royale). The changes that they made I could mostly understand, and even the stuff that irritated me (such as death not having the impact it should. They spent so little time developing the relationship in the film that if I didn't already care about the character from the book I don't know if it would have mattered to me at all) I could at least rationalize by saying "well, the movie is already over two hours long...". I did think it was a bit of an odd choice to show , as I didn't think that sort of thing got into full swing until book two, but I guess they assumed that the film's audience would expect a more immediate reaction to that sort of thing. The casting was really well done, for the most part (though Katniss and Gale were significantly whiter than I'd pictured them), with the two exceptions for me being that I'd imagined Gale being way lankier and had thought that Clove and Cato would be equally aryan, so making her a brunette was weird. All told, good movie. I'm not blown away, but am satisfied and looking forward to the next one.

Actually, my coworkers decided on Monday night that going for beer and then watching John Carter was a good idea, so I tagged along. I quite enjoyed it. It wasn't great, sure, but it was fun enough. The bits with the Thark (four armed big green dudes) were pretty good, while the bits with the space-Romans (is that what the human/martians were supposed to be? Whatever) were pretty tiresome. I enjoyed enough of that movie to recommend it to someone looking for a way to kill a couple of hours, but not enough to see it again myself. In a weird way, it made me want to watch Riddick again. I still kinda like that movie...

Disney. Good luck bribing those guys. -
Bought my tickets 3 days ago.

Yeah, I have three for Revelations and a 66% off Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. Anyone want 'em?
-
Yeah, is this going to be archived? I'm probably not going to be telling my girlfriend that I'm cancelling a date to watch a podcast count a thing down, but I do want to see it sooner or later...

Discs? What? You're on Idle Thumbs and don't buy all your games on PC? What I'm worried about is that by the time I get around to playing the game and downloading it from Origin, the version I'm downloading from EA will have some new happy ending shit bolted on, rather than at least letting me see what the fuss was about and giving me the choice.

I wish there was some kind of cookie that could remember my birthday for things like that. Steam always knows what my birthday is, I just have to click ok and go through to the next screen. Other sites (Giant Bomb, for example) just drop the age gating as soon as I've signed in with the account that says I'm 24. Either one of those is fine, I just wish that sites where I don't have an account and don't care to get one would find some way to let my browser remember my birthday or something. Google chrome already has my gmail account tied in, why shouldn't it be able to drop my birthday in there too if I tell it to?

So will the current ending still be there if I am to buy and play the game in a couple of months? I'd like to see what all the fuss is about, and if they change the ending before I get around to playing it, it would kind of suck. Like, a lot.

Punch Drunk Love.

As Pat has alluded to, I'm now in. I have never played a Lords Management once. Anyone want to teach me how not to get instantly destroyed?
-
I blame Nick Breckon for this.

If this is happening today, I'll be online in 15 minutes ready for a couple of hours of bug splatting. I have been doing so much goddamned homework this weekend and I REALLY need to let off some steam.
