I kept on yelling at you without realizing that wegten on mumble and Dhwty (or whatever) in the game were the same person. I'd yell at Dhwty and then remember "Oh yeah, he can't hear me." I'm hoping you at least got a laugh out of that and actually catching every word. All in all, that was a great time. Especially 'blix's soundtrack. Awesome to see so many old faces, particularly those who aren't even big forum-goers any more, and a couple of totally new people who fit in quick too. That was dumb. So gloriously, gloriously dumb.

Welcome, dude. Good playing with you this afternoon.

I can't believe I did that. I really hope it becomes a gif, because I don't have any saved data of this. Someone better have been watching.

On my 18th birthday, I got one of these: I've been using this phone for seven and a half years now. It still works just fine for texting and calling, and the battery can last for almost three days, but it is now physically held together with scotch tape. I graduate with my second degree next week (again, got the above phone just after leaving high school) and my folks have decided to finance a new smart phone for me as a grad gift. The phone can be any phone. Given my 7 year old flip phone ways, I have no idea what makes a good smart phone. The people here seem like they'd know what they're talking about, so I figured I'd come for advice. I'm leaning towards going Android, as the only Apple product I own is a five year old iPod touch and I don't really like Apple that much. Going Android means that I have way more choices though. The Galaxy 4 just came out, and it's easy to be tempted by the newest, shiniest thing, but I don't want to just blindly get a thing because it's new without being at least kind of aware of what I'm ruling out by making that choice. Also, as I post here, it's a pretty safe assumption that I'm a gamer. I know that smartphones are a popular way of conveying games these days, but have no idea what the scene on any particular OS is. So I put it to you, Idle Forums: 1. What sort of advice can you give me on picking a new Android phone? Or, if you're an Apple zealot, what may you say to convince me (as someone who's always found Apple to make products which are fine functionality-wise, but overpriced to the point of being status symbols as soon as you get beyond the base level) that an iPhone 5 may be worth it? 2. What is the gaming scene like on Android? From what I can tell, phone gaming is something that would interest me as a curiosity for about a day and then I'd forget about it and go back to my 3DS. Is there anything actually compelling to do on there? Thanks, thumbs!

WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Things just got about 10x crazier. All of my favourite havoc was 'blix-initiated.

Ahahaha. Me too. Decided to watch it after seeing This Is The End. I like that the cast of Undeclared is having a good summer of flicks.

I only had trouble with one small part of it. Am I a secret platforming genius, because I'm pretty sure I'm not that great at games...

I bought the two DLC characters now that they're on sale. I already had the base game and the season pass, though I'm still working on finishing them with my first character (level 31 Siren) so I don't know why I bought more characters. Still, love this game and can't quite put my finger on why.

As said in the OP, this was originally suggested by Wrestlevania, who is on GMT. This puts him 7 hours ahead of me. I'll be home in time for 8:30pm GMT, though I think that the actual steam event is scheduled a tad earlier. As for expansion or no, that can pretty much be decided at game time, depending on who has it and who doesn't. I'm good either way.

Voted for that shit. Hopefully at $5 more people join in.

Obviously you buy that and pick up "Living Word: Bible" as your freebie...

You know I did! You're the only other person on my Wii U leaderboard!

Oh man, Charles Martinet speaking in his normal voice is always so weird. EDIT: Also, the duck hunt dog sound effect when the ship explodes is perfect.

I certainly say it because of you, at least.

With that thing coming out of Rockstar Leeds yesterday looking for people to help them port "The latest Rockstar games" to PC, I'm even more willing to wait for PC now. Grand Thumb Auto V PC looks like it may be the most likely of all, especially as multiplayer is so much easier there anyway.

Your basement is terrifying...

That.

I was a gifted kid myself back in the day. I am well aware of the weird priggish tendencies. I think the fact that I didn't pull any punches about my own experience with gifted education during the interview was a big part of why I got the job. I was positive about making it better, but did not hesitate to point out the ways I feel like the program turned a lot of students into entitled jerks who couldn't handle the real world because they were always told that they were better than it and never learned how to work. So yeah, gifted kids are going to be a challenge, but not one I'm unprepared for.

I have a friend doing that right now in British Columbia. He absolutely loves it, though I get the sense he's starting to get a little homesick. Still, no need to justify that, it sounds like a rad thing to do.

I'd be happy to join up for Fate of Atlantis. It's the only LucasArts game I've never finished. I may replay MI 1 and 2 just because as well.

Oh yeah, acceptance is essential. You don't go in expecting to win. My friends and I informally call it "Die in Space." I think it only gets referred to by its actual name when we're talking to someone who's never played it before.

Galaxy Trucker is a staple at my weekly game night. I can confirm it is rad as hell.

Mington is in the UK. Obviously that is "Gone Home" read very quickly and with a slightly slurred British accent. "g'n 'ome".

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Yeah, SpaceChem is definitely one of those "It's absolutely wonderful, but you'd have to be a completely crazy person to actually finish it" games. I loved what I played a whole lot, but when I was done I was DONE.
