All I know about GTAV's soundtrack is that my girlfriend told me that it included Wavves. This obviously makes it good. She has a habit of identifying games by their soundtrack though, so that should not surprise me. She asked me if I'd beaten "That game with the Mudhoney ad" (Infamous: Second Son) earlier this week as well.

@miffy495, big surprise. I rarely post anything, but if I am very proud of a pun I will often share it.

If these videos prove anything, it's that I'm great at this game.

100% completed my "good" playthrough about half an hour ago. Thanks, spring break! Really enjoyed this game. Small stuff: Wish there was a way to swap power sets without going off to drain something that will give you that power (by the end of the game, I had smoke, neon, TV, and concrete powers, but the only way to switch between them was to go find a source for that power and drain it in order to overwrite was I was using before). Once I had neon, which slows down time while you're aiming, I didn't really ever want to use anything else, so not having a neon source handy was a pain, especially with how clumsy and weak smoke feels in relation to the other powers. Not as strong as TV or concrete, not as fast and precise as neon. The neon and TV traversal powers really step up the game as well, so when I was stuck with smoke and had to get somewhere it felt like a huge step back. Basically, the power that they did all the marketing about and start you with is by far the worst part of the game, but you get three more so it's still pretty great overall.

Yeah, I went to play Minerva's Den at Christmas because I wanted to do so before GFWL went away and I lost access. Turns out it didn't matter because once I installed my old Steam version everything was already in place. Good job, whoever did that.

Well, I'm now at 50% completion for the game (all collectibles on first island gone, just opened up second map). I also just got the neon powers, which are the crazy running things you can see in the image in the OP. The "power up the node" stuff is really quick and just kind of paying service to heritage at this point. When you get a new power set, they give you a single mission in which you run around for like 10 minutes finding a bunch of nodes that give you all the powers at once. Upgrading them is what makes the real difference. There are also a lot fewer things to run around and collect this time around, which means less of the tedious bits and more good parts to the game. Also, getting the neon powers is the part where you go "oh shit, this really does look fantastic", so if you're unimpressed with the graphic stuff early on it does get better. Still really having a lot of fun with this game. Is good stuff.

So I got a PS4 and this today. Because fuck it, I love this series. There's a fair bit of "meh" towards Infamous 1 on the forum, but it was one of my favourite games of 2009. As a first PS4 experience, this thing is rad as hell. It feels really good. Not drastically different from 2, but a bit tighter. Lighting and animation are great. Using steam vents to get around is super fun (don't have that blur running thing in that top gif yet. About 30% of the way through the game), and being able to zap yourself forward mid-air and then glide gives me the same feeling that the air dash in SR4 did, so that's good. I'm kind of struck by how much this game both looks amazing for something that's running on my TV and not that different from something that I'd be playing on my PC, but whatever. I'm just happy to have more inFamous, and my new shiny system to play with. Looking forward to lots of good times with this sleek little black box, and inFamous 3 is a great way to start out.

I absolutely loved BI right up until the first combat encounter. I spent an hour wandering around, exploring the world, reading everything I could and generally loving every minute. Then I got a button prompt that resulted in my shoving a rotating hook in a police officer's face. The overwhelming rush of disappointment as I thought "Welp. I guess this is the game I'm playing now." is one that I don't think I've ever really felt from any other game. That said, I finished it, and enjoyed playing it. The gameplay was fun, the story was kinda dumb but whatever. But man, the gap between what I hoped BI would accomplish and what it actually delivered is so fucking wide...

Well, I'm around. The mumble channel is currently empty. I guess I'll check out some other stuff in the meantime, but man would I be down for some GTA...

Did you play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance? It is a character action game that is pretty much entirely centred around two things: slicing shit up with a sword, and parrying to launch into your rad combos. If you go in without thinking about a proper counter, you're fucked. It's a very interesting system, and Platinum made it pretty damn fun to do as well.

I'm a white male with a beard, but only 26. On the other hand, I also talk to children about space. High five, RubixsQube!

I'M SORRY I CAN'T TALK RIGHT NOW THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY PANTS.

SPRING BREAK!!! ...So this is happening on Monday, yes?
-
It doesn't. The protagonist in 3 is the grandson is the protagonist in 4. They just haven't filled in anything between when 1 and 2 took place yet. I'd like to see that too.
-
I booted up my old second playthrough character because of all this talk. Played for about a half hour (it was late and I had to get to sleep) and immediately got so much better stuff. I'm probably going to be playing a bit over March break, so I'd be down for some partying now and then.

Courtesy of a student sharing a new vocabulary word: "Ok, so REDACTED has found and defined 'adjusted' for us..." *interrupting* "Yup! Ah jus' did!" ...and then I facepalmed in front of a room full of 8 year olds.

No "shake to roll", but roll and grab are on the same button and contextual to whether or not you're moving, so I roll accidentally way too often. It's a bit of a bummer on that front. Part of why the controls feel a bit too "loose" to me. It's a good game, but I feel like I lose a life more often because the controls are wee bit janky than because I'm bad at it.
-
I've been playing it, and I quite enjoy it. It's a fun game. The controls feel looser than I'd like, but it's a good game. I think I'm a bit fatigued by how many collectibles are in each level though. The five Yoshi coins of Mario World struck it pretty well. With 9 puzzle pieces and four KONG letters in each level, there is just too damn much here and it's exhausting to think about getting them all.

If you write the date MM.YY.DD (who the fuck does that, but whatever), tomorrow is 03.14.15. Just sayin'.

If you are camping and have to use a porta-potty, the solution is surprisingly simple. Porta-potties often have those weird fake urinal things on the sides, so you can both use the toilet part and throw up in the urinal thing. This is a good way of dealing with horrible food poisoning when camping at a music festival. ...not that I have any experience with this or anything.

I am not a religious person. I don't have any kind of beliefs whatsoever regarding an afterlife or a cosmic anything. Regardless of this, I found myself today saying a brief "Hey, take care of Cabot, Subbes, and Shammack today" to no one in particular. Deepest sympathies, guys.

So rather than keep on posting about EVERY new 3DS game in the 3DS thread, I figured I'd start one for this game. I'm about halfway through the Clockworks section right now (abandoned factory setting! Neat!) and am completely in love with this game. So much charm. I chuckle pretty much all the time when I'm playing this game. Usually I play my handheld games with the sound way down, but that is not happening with this one. The sound design is great and I don't want to turn it down, even if I'm on my break at work. I almost want to take extra time to solve puzzles because it will mean Luigi starts humming. Anyone else playing? I'd be down for some Scarescraper team-ups too (in a couple of weeks when school is finished) if people are interested. Who's down with Luigi?
