Yeah, Strongbow is great for the summer. There's also a local place in Calgary that makes one called Rock Creek which is pretty good. Osmosisch, Lagavulin is an awesome Scotch, but I likewise find I need to be in a mood for it. I can always, ALWAYS drink Talisker though. Love that stuff. First thing I did when I started making a decent paycheque and found myself able to afford good stuff was stock up.

I live in the West, which means I primarily drink whiskies and beers. I like both a lot, but am very particular about them until I've had enough to no longer care about drinking good things. Yeah, DIII and inFamous 1 are the only two games in which I turned up the difficulty mis-playthrough, and I found myself liking both more as a result. (Though honestly on your first playthrough, you can still only max DIII out at hard, which is still too easy.)

Yeah. He's a friend with a problem. If it's beyond your ability to directly solve it, all that is expected of a good friend is to be there. Gay doesn't matter, he's bummed about a relationship ending and you are there for him. If it helps you get over your "I was socialized into shitty views and have not yet fully overcome them" problem (one we all have, not judging. The difference is only WHICH shitty worldview we're each overcoming), just try to mentally replace the word "boyfriend" with "girlfriend" when you're thinking about it, remember to switch it back to "boyfriend" when speaking, and keep on doing what you're doing. Your duties as a buddy would be the same in either case anyway. EVERYONE appreciates beer, pizza, and a reliable friend. Keep up the good work.

I am very frustrated by a world in which I can go out with a different female friend three times in a couple of weeks, and every single fucking time at least three people comment on what a cute couple we make. Three different friends, two weeks. Apparently friends have good chemistry, I guess? Fuck heteronormativity, and fuck everything. Living just South of there, having an uncle who still works there, and going to school at a university where the default way of paying tuition is "just go work in the 'sands for a few years", that hit pretty close to home. Fuckin' Alberta, man. I like Calgary, I like a lot of things about this city. The fact that it is ENTIRELY reliant on the oil from that fucking place to continue existing is not one of them.

I know it's not anime related, and I'm in entirely the wrong thread for me, but I happened to see this and holy shit do I miss running home from school when I was like 9 to watch Round The Twist on TV Ontario. I don't think I've ever known anyone else who watched it, but then I was a super dorky kid with an Australian family, so it was required. Was it actually a big deal over there?

Wavves and Best Coast are two of my partner's favourite bands, so when either one is featured in a game, she takes notice.

I bought Origins during the holiday sale and beat it last month. 100% completion. I know this is largely considered heresy on the internet but... I preferred it to City. Yeah, they're pretty much the same game, but I really thought that what they did with the villains was kind of interesting. Mechanically, there is almost no difference, so if that's all you're looking for it's totally skippable. The window dressing in City made me feel like a sleazebag though, and Origins did not. I got a game that is equally fun to play but less gross. That's a win in my book. As for technical, it crashed to desktop like 3 times in the time it took me to get 100%. YMMV.
