  1. 24 the Game

From what I've heard the story is great but the game itself is absolute shit. Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but if you really like the story, you may be able to get through anyway.
  2. Pschonaughts

    He's so dreamy....
  3. Favorite Zelda

I have played (and beaten) every Zelda game out there, with the exception of the CD-I ones. As ground-breaking and incredible as OoT was, Wind Waker wins for me because of one single moment during the game. When you're underwater, and you finally get to see Hyrule (the REAL Hyrule, dammit!) in all it's cell shaded glory. God, what I would have given to be able to run around that and check everything out. I didn't even want gameplay there, I just wanted to explore. It was beautiful, and all we got to see was the view from Lake Hylia. The only moment that OoT had that could compare was when you first reached the top of Death Mountain and had a perfect view of everything that the game had to offer you. But that wasn't cell-shaded. Also, it didn't have the added awesome of the shimmering under-water-y effects. Just gorgeous. As for gameplay, I hold the two games at about equal standings, but that one moment puts Wind Waker over the top.
  4. Megaman vs Ghosts 'n Goblins

Just... damn. That is really sweet there man. Quite enjoyable. indeed.
  5. The Sims

I've played the Sims before, but never really managed to get into it. If it were the sort of thing that I could get into, I could see being ok with paying around $10-$15 per pack, but at the price they are, it's just not worth it. I just can't see paying that much for a list of litte features that I can do without. Of course, my sister is hooked and has all the packs, so there must be something to them for those that can get into it.
  6. Sequel-itis at IGN

Last time I was in EB, the guy said something to me regarding the fact that I play all of "those weird games." For some reason, weird to him included guitar hero, but I'll forgive him for what he told me afterwards. After I'd bought psychonauts, the guy who sold it to me (same guy, I like him) decided to check it out. Every single person who works in that store has a copy now. That really helped to explain to me why I never see it on the shelves, as the staff appear to be getting first dibs on it. Not such a failure after all...
  7. The big names in gaming

n0wak, Walter and Ben have already all mentioned him, but it's a fucking crime that Tetsuya Mizuguchi isn't on your list yet. Even if all he'd ever done was Rez, he'd be necessary, but he just keeps on going. Add him already, and right this horrible wrong. Also, who created Gyakuten Saiban? (Phoenix Wright) Only one game in english, but 3 in Japan and as from what I hear they're all of similar quality, this person may be a good one to keep an eye on.

Nah, nothing can touch Shiggy now. He's fucking ARMED. Deal with that, Mr. Lionhead.
  9. Rumble Box

A lot of the ones I spend the most time with are here: ABA Games Tumiki Fighters and Parsec 49 are great old-school shmups, and Tumiki even adds some Katamari-esque weirdness in that you can take components of your opponents' ships and absorb them into your own. If you're good, you'll create a giant clump of fighter-death that looks like it was just rolled by the prince. Also, I play a bunch of Warning Forever. There's more, but those are really the ones that keep me coming back. Nice, simplistic, addictive arcade-y games that are great when you're just looking to kill 5-10 minutes rather than spend 3 hours looking for the next wave of whatevers to shoot.
  10. Flames

OUENDAAAAAAAN!!!!!! :bomb: heh. Great game if you're up for some more j-pop.
  11. Viral Market in this thread

What... the... crap? This begs two questions. First off, who the hell took time out of their life to create this? Second, who goes running without any kind of support? Hell, running is the only time I'll wear briefs, otherwise pain ensues. Common sense dictates women have some similar realization to this "excessive bouncing = pain" theorem. I've seen some weird and pointless crap on the internet before, but that may actually be one of the toppers.
  12. Flames

These cough lozenges that I'm sucking on have some kind of anaesthetic in them. I can't feel my tounge. Damn you, Cepacol brand cough lozenges!!!
  13. Rumble Box

...except I actually play these more often as well. Parsec 49 has seen so much more action than Half Life 2. Warning Forever is enjoyed far more frequently than Freelancer. These purchased games are very good, but not played that often. I could go on, but don't really want to.
  14. Game designer publicity photos

Lord British FTW!!!! ...oh crap. If I'd seen DanJW's pic earlier I would've voted for that one. Oh well, it's not the official Molyneux so it doesn't count. I think.
  15. Hot titles you're waiting for

Crap, I forgot about Loco Roco, Okami and Spore. Hmmm... better add those to mine.
  16. I never thought I'd see the day...

TUKERJERBS!!!! ...well, we all know what we have to do now. Everyone on the pile.
  17. Flames

    yes, but morons with excuses.
  18. Viral Market in this thread

I've tried. It's just been a bunch of lawsuits for me. Contrary to popular belief, poking nipples with great force does not cause women to immediately disrobe. When will the lies end???
  19. Hot titles you're waiting for

After recently finally getting Darwinia, I'm quite looking forward to that strategy game that Introversion is working on at the moment. Forget what it's called (if it's even been given a name) but looks cool. I'm kinda curious about "Me and My Katamari," as I'm not sure if it could be pulled off without the analogue sticks. Other than that, all I'm really waiting for is for Amazon to deliver the copy of Trackmania Sunrise that I ordered so that I can get into that. Oh! I also hear they're working on a revolution sequel to Trauma Center: Under the Knife. If so, definitely on my list. Though it's a long way off yet so I may as well not get my hopes up.
  20. high system requirements

The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Give you some idea of what a big deal this is, The Elder Scrolls 3 was more commonly known as Morrowind. High quality, mind-bogglingly beautiful 1st person RPG. I'm actually not really looking forward to it. RPG's aren't really my thing. Still, this is a really high profile release for the 360 and PC.
  21. Sonic X-treme demo!

The article says that the dude who sold the demo was in charge of destroying all the disks for Sega and decided to hold one for safekeeping. Mystery solved.
  22. Flames

Shit, I didn't mean to do that. My connection's been kinda wonky and I had to click the submit button three times before it would load the page. Whups. At least it's appropriate...
  23. Rumble Box

Just had a chance to check it out. Quite entertaining, though it's mostly been a button mash so far. I may work out some strategies eventually, but for now it'll just join the ranks of shortcuts to little free games on my desktop. *examines desktop* hmmm... apparently these little free games now outnumber actually retail games. This says something profound, but I'll be damned if I know what exactly that is.
  24. Just how awesome is the DS Lite?

I second. And I think I've finally convinced a few friends to get one. I shall be dependent on WiFi no longer! Bwah ha ha ha!
  25. high system requirements

I'd say if you're capable of FEAR and other such fine-looking games at a decent level of detail, then you should be good for Oblivion if you turn the graphical quality down. Hell, you probably won't have to do much of that. Gorgeous as the game is, it can't be THAT far above what most people can run. Otherwise they'd just be completely fucking themselves over for casual consumers. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Especially if you can run what you've already mentioned.
