Alright, so on your recommendation I eBayed Wario Land 3. Something like $20 (CAN) so it seemed like a decent deal. It arrived today and I've sunk a whole lot of time into it. Great, great game. I just put in an order for Wario Land 2, and (allowing for homework) should be finishing this game right about when it arrives. Damn this is fun, although the "not dying" is a double-edged sword. Sometimes all that it means is that my ass catches on fire and I need to run around waiting for it to go out so I can get on with the level. ...I gotta say, though I liked New SMB, Wario Land 3 is currently kicking it's ass.

Just... wha? How can he be so blind? This has to be a way of poking fun at himself. Otherwise, I just can't fathom that he'd do this.

I still have yet to find a copy myself. Can anyone recommend between the Xbox and PC versions? My PC is very capable, so compatability isn't a problem, but from what I've heard this seems like it might play a bit better with a gamepad.

Alien Hominid maybe? Hard to find though...

plus, the game will always stay in your Steam menu, just the next time you play it it'll have to re-download everything. You don't have to uninstall HL2, just remove game files from the Steam games menu.

The slow reaction seems to be almost like they're taking a page from Prince of Persia. Mario seems to have weight now, and as such it takes him a while to go from a full out run in one direction to moving in another. Once I got used to it, I actually kinda liked it better to be able to move a bit more realistically.

I love you, Spafford (The Spaff Appreciation Thread)

Whether or not you love Spaff, everyone can love that picture. -
There isn't. The DS can only connect wirelessly. If you don't have a wireless router (using the 802.11b or 802.11g standard) then you can buy a separate first party accessory that plugs into a USB slot and sends a wireless signal to the DS. I have a router, so I have no idea how well this adapter works, but it IS available. Anyone used one and have some feedback?

I love you, Spafford (The Spaff Appreciation Thread)

as do I. Spaff has truly confirmed just how awesome our joystick is by endorsing it in his picture, which has earlier been described as "teh sex." Thus, our joystick becomes the "teh" in "teh sex." Guess what the other part is? -
Damn good games. I'm learning Japanese right now (Just started a month ago, know Hiragana and most Katakana, and can carry on conversations capably, but not amazingly well) and when I feel competent enough that I'll be able to work out what's going on, I think I'll import Mother 3. That, or just pray to god that they decide to localize the bugger, which they probably never will. I just wish that my university would allow me to take the next level courses sometime other than starting in January. I'll be finished this course in a month and sitting around waiting for the next one for the better part of a year. Bastards.

I thought it was a giant enemy crab...

Or just get a GBA and wait for Mother 3. (Or Earthbound 2. Whatever they're calling it.) Either way, Earthbound is the first thing I'm getting on Virtual Console.

You gotta put yourself on video first, THEN the internet will become abuzz with cries of "OMFG!!! B00BZ!!!"

Fucking awesome. Also, I love that their sad background music is the Katamari song.

Shit, I'd forgotten all about Cooking With Spaff. An enjoyable, if useless, little segment. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it.

In Canada we have that. It's called "CTV vs CBC." It basically consists of Canadians having to choose between our two fairly crappy national networks, both of which have approximately one good show on at the moment.

The mega mushrooms are stored by going into one of the houses shaped like a mega mushroom. It'll give you a mega that simply goes straight into your storage place. Tap and activate whenever you want. As for the minis, I have yet to be able to store one and I'm not sure if it's possible or not. I did manage to stay mini in world five long enough to beat Petey Piranha and unlock world 7 though, so I can't really see why else I'd really need one aside from finding a few more coins. EDIT: Hmmm... on closer examination, it looks like they can be swiped from one of those regular item houses, the ones that look like a regular mushroom. It's one of the options that the box will toss out, although it's more to chance there. The mega houses will ALWAYS give you a mega mushroom. The regular houses, not so much.

I see nintendo's shift more as a change in leadership from that guy who had never played a game and was proud of it (can't quite remember his name right now) to Iwata, who had been designing and playing for a long time. As I recall, this was just around the launch of the 'cube, and you can see how their strategy has changed since. Sony would do well to ditch Kuturagi and get someone in there who legitimately enjoys playing with things.

...I own the DVD of Plan 9.

It's pretty sweet to be a Canuck right now. I think when I was born it was around 80 cents US, followed by hovering around 60 for most of the rest of my life. This makes me feel richer than ever at my crappy little customer service job!

Well, I liked it, but I gotta say it does start to go downhill after that bit on the military base. The bugs at work was definitely the moment that made the game worth it for me. I don't know why that made me like it so much, but it did. It made me want to figure out what the hell was going on. Once I did, I wasn't very impressed, but the game still had its moments.

Damn, I want my lite turned into a Donkey Kong one. That is fucking brilliant.

Well, like you just said. The horrible deaths. Don't think they aren't coming. Multiple homicide + suicide by one of the hosts is coming, you just know it.

I Am So Lame (vote for me in a contest begging thread)

Hot damn! Grats, man. Awesome mappage. -
Yeah, it's definitely too early. I've developed quite a DVD collection over the years, and 480p is frankly already higher def than I actually need to enjoy most of my movies/TV shows. Wow, all of a sudden, South Park got so much better now that it's on HDDVD, despite the fact that it wasn't created in HD! How did they DO that? I'm with Rodi, maybe a few years down the line. Maybe.
