  1. Your Animal Crossing Town

Go for it. I doubt we'll have the awkwardness of the same ringtone going off at the same time, what with that pesky ocean in the way and everything. Stealing my ringtone is not considered a problem when the person stealing it is on another continent.
  2. New Super Mario Bros.

Well, with the pace of the course I'm currently taking, I needed something silly and easy to take a break from the endless tidal waves of Japanese homework. Peach seemed appropriate. Although yeah, very weird looks from the other people in the EB. On the other hand, I got to download the Tetris demo to my Lite and try it out, which gathered a small crowd of people going "ooooooh... a lite..." which was enjoyable. Then I bought Peach and instantly lost their respect. Oh yeah, Tetris demo = . I was almost sad to turn off the DS to pop in Peach. EDIT: Peach Update #2: Just finished World 3. Kinda addictive, although still not challenging. I like that there's a new breed of Boos that are too pissed off from Bowser's emotion-tampering to be scared of you. Thus, if you run into a Boo with crazy eyes, it'll go after you whether you're looking at it or not. The various emotional kinds of enemies (Pissed off koopas and sad goombas are my favorite, though the blissed out piranha plants are kinda cool too) keep things fresh and add some new dimensions to the Mario series. Easy as all hell and kinda girly or not, I'm quickly being won over by this game. Plus there's a little glossary for every enemy that you've encountered, which is a nice touch. You can go through and browse 7 pages of enemies and read some single-scentence blurbs about them. There is one problem so far though. When you get to a boss for the first time, you're forced to play a stupid little touch screen minigame, which is different for each boss. These mini-games are HORRIBLE. Lame, don't control well, and somehow always seem like a badly made attempt at the balloon trip part of Yoshi's Touch & Go. Just terrible. Luckily, once you've cleared them once you're given the option to skip them on subsequent run-throughs, so it's only a minor blemish on the game.
  3. Paul Barnett explains Warhammer Online

Yeah, I don't like Warhammer (original) and I don't like MMOs, but I still like this guy. Very charismatic spokesman for the game, at any rate.
  4. New Super Mario Bros.

I've really developed a taste for the weighted Mario. I've come to like it quite a bit. Oh well, decided to grab Super Princess Peach now to try and get something a bit different as well, so I'll report back later on how that worked out. EDIT: So, I've cleared the first world (out of 8) of SPP and am having fun with it. It's more Yoshi's Island kind of difficulty (read: none) but luckily keeps the atmosphere nice and light and if you can ignore the slightly sexist undertones of the "emotional powers" they do add a nice element to the gameplay. And hell, in the opening cutscene, Bowser gets hit by the emotional wand thing too, so it's not JUST Peach that has these powers. I don't know about going full price on it, as it's supposed to be really damn short (though strangely, people were saying it was way too short at about "6-8 hours" which is more time than New SMB took me) and doesn't pose much challenge, but it's good fun so far. If you can find it used and don't mind the cashier looking at you funny, I recommend it. Oh, also: I don't really have a problem with Petey Piranha, but does he have to be a boss in EVERY new game in the Mario Universe? You even fight him the same way as in Sunshine, only this time instead of using FLUDD, you just cry really hard.
  5. i found this in my local chemist...

Pickled Onion Crisps? If I recall correctly, on the TV show he was obsessed with Chili-Dogs, so why not something in that region?
  6. No Pre-Owned PS3 Games?

I assume though, that you can log into your Live account from different machines. THAT'S the important part of it. Not that you can't re-download or anything like that, but that you can't lose all your games simply because you had to trade in your busted PS3 for one that works. Accounts are OK. I, much like Masque, do a lot of research before buying a game and haven't bought a bad one that required re-selling in many years. If it's through online distribution, then it's less likely that I won't be able to find a rare game, as people probably wouldn't bother to take it off the server without good reason. If things go the way of Steam, I'm perfectly happy with it. It's the other ways that this whole thing could potentially screw the consumer that concern me.
  7. Who are you and what have you become?

Hmmm... in your case, does the opposite sex happen to all look like shady black-market-organ type people? I've heard they'll try to trick you like that. Although who would want an appenix, you'll have to ask someone else.
  8. Most Dull Online game Ever

5 people can only delete so much. We can take them out through our amazingly large group of people who don't enjoy playing shit games. Be wary of where you tread, Frederik, as behind Yufster stands a massive army of geeks with not a whole lot else to do!
  9. Gabriel Knight

She wrote King's Quest 6? Damn, I gotta play that now. The only Quest games I ever played were the Space Quest ones.
  10. New Super Mario Bros.

Yeah, it's a good game. I enjoyed it thoroughly, although I've lost interest in digging up all the secrets by now. There's just not the same motivation to hunt everything down that there was for games like Super Mario World. I'm actually thinking about getting Super Princess Peach now, as despite the stereotypical sounding emotion-based powers, it seems to do much more in terms of innovation and risk-taking than New SMB. The complaints that I heard about it were that it was a bit too easy and that the emotion stuff wasn't really opinionated in a way that is different from me. I can accept both of those provided the gameplay is decent, so I may give it a shot.
  11. Your Animal Crossing Town

Heh, back when I had my old cell phone, I went into the Motorola composer thing and composed the LeChuck song as my ring. Good times with that phone, as everyone always wondered what the hell that song was from. Nowadays, I use the sample from Don Hertzfeldt's "Rejected" of a banana screaming "I AM A BANANA!" but every once in a while I miss my LeChuck song.
  12. Double Fine kitten & game leak

Use all the crazy science you want. I'm going to do this the Super Troopers way and just stare at my computer screen saying "enhance" over and over and hoping something happens.
  13. Japanese Wii-price: 25.000 yen (225 $)

I'm tempted to import one myself, as $250 US normally means us Canadians get charged somewhere between $300 and $350, despite the fact that the exchange rate would put it at around $275 Canadian. And since the US price is already a bit inflated over the price in yuen, it's looking substantially cheaper to order from Japan than to buy from the EB up the hill.
  14. Half Life 2 mods

The best zombie mod by far is for UT2004 though. Killing Floor. Squad based multiplay seeing how long your team can survive against a never-ending wave of Zombies. Some of the best Co-op I've played in a mod, and has a real Romero-esque feel to it. I have yet to find an HL2 mod full of zombies, but then again I don't play many of them.
  15. Double Fine kitten & game leak

awwwwww... ...yeah. I have a huge soft spot for kitties. Now, my masculinity compromised, I must slink back into the shadows and try to regain my composure.
  16. No Pre-Owned PS3 Games?

The problem I have with the whole thing is the issue of rare collector-type games. If they couldn't have been resold, I never would have gotten my hands on things like Panzer Dragoon, Rez, Gitaroo Man, or Ikaruga. I would've missed out on these awesome experiences just because the company decided that the games will be useless to anyone else once someone has bought them. Try finding any of these games new, I dare you. If you're not into the whole "everything must be shrinkwrapped and preserved for eternity and cost hundreds of dollars" scene, used games are the best option for finding gameplay experiences you missed out on when they were new. I don't rent much, as I'd rather compile a whole bunch of free reviews than spend $7 on something that I'll probably buy later anyway if I like it, but don't take my used games away. I'd be missing out on some of the best gaming of the past generation without them.
  17. i found this in my local chemist...

Despair. That, and the knowlege that Sonic lovers all over the world find you to be kind of a pain in the ass. So yeah... kinda like strawberries I guess. I've never smelled really intense despair before, but I assume that's what it's like.
  18. Japanese Wii-price: 25.000 yen (225 $)

Don't do it, man. Some things are better left a mystery.
  19. Your Animal Crossing Town

How frequent are these random visits? I think all that I have is something like "shame," and I'd really like to be able to dance or something.
  20. Ballmer jackpot!

    Don't tempt me...
  21. Gabriel Knight

But... Tim Curry... Yeah, I wasn't all that impressed with the first one either. Personally, I think the Beast Within (#2) is much better, and have never played the third. 'Course, when I played the Beast Within it was a long time ago, and the genius may well have faded, but at the time it was awesome.
  22. Japanese Wii-price: 25.000 yen (225 $)

Still, a $225 ceiling is pretty sweet. This thing'll cost me less than my PSP, and bring what appears to be far more joy. Well, we'll see after loco roco, but you get the idea.
  23. Microsoft: hey why not buy a Wii?

Holy crap. Allard is the best Fester ever. How have I never realized this before?
  24. No Pre-Owned PS3 Games?

Me: Hey everybody! SONY! Crowd: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! :hah: :hah: Me: Thank you, thank you. Although despite all this, I still REALLY want to play MGS4. Those bastards.
  25. My First Review (Gibbage related ¬¬)

Unfortunately though, I've heard that two can be as bad as one. In all seriousness though, grats man. Now I can say "I communicated with him on a forum once in a while way back when..."
