We're not typically, but because it's really hard to find a Canadian identity that ISN'T hockey, when there's another tournament going on everyone goes crazy for the country that their family is from. I suddenly become Australian (not really a good thing to be around World Cup time, but whatever) while my friends are Italian, Dutch, Irish, German, British, etc. Trust me though, for tomorrow night's Edmonton vs Carolina hockey game, we'll all be Canadian again.

Is that a reference to Grabbed By the Ghoulies? I saw it used and cheap recently, and was quite tempted. Rare's recent work hasn't really impressed me though. Any good?

I don't mind soccer, but until the NHL Playoffs are over (could be as early as Friday...) I really don't care too much about it. I've caught a couple of games. Was impressed with Ghana's honour (helping up knocked over Italians and the like) and utterly disgusted with Argentina's theatrics. Those guys are the reason that North Americans don't take soccer seriously. You were grazed by a toe, get the fuck up and get on with it you asshole. Still, as long as a match hasn't had Argentina in it, I haven't minded watching. The key is to not give a shit about the outcome and just enjoy the game.

Man, nobody really seems to like the way characters were handled in the GTA games. Personally, I thought CJ in San Andreas was a really refreshing kind of hero for the kind of game people expect from GTA. Yeah, he was a gangster, but if anything he was a victim of circumstance. Try growing up there and NOT being one. Even Loc, who had a good chance to make something of himself, tried his best to become a gangster if only to fit in. The fact that CJ still had a moral compass was what impressed me. The guy may be a killer, but damn if he doesn't have a sense of honour as well. Aside from that, you just need to look a bit to find games that'll deviate from the norm. Killer 7 anyone?

Well, because the Episode got me all fired up again, I'm replaying HL2 now. Fucking Ravenholm. Always scares the piss out of me. I got through Doom 3 and many other "scary" without getting too creeped out, and really not many games scare me. Except for Ravenholm. How the hell do they make it so creepy? Damn black headcrabs. Ugh.

Why? I don't revel in the title myself, but I take part in many activities that would have me classified as a Nerd or Geek. If someone needs to categorize based on interests, then yes: I am interested in many nerdy things. This would make me, to many people, a nerd. Should I have a problem with that? Or is there a difference between someone calling me "nerdy" and someone calling me "a nerd?" If someone wants to take pride in the fact that others call them a nerd, why shouldn't they be able to? You forgor Mario Power Tennis. I'm frankly a bit sick of Petey Pirhana. He was a cool and appropriate boss in Sunshine, but everything he's been in since just feels tacked on. If you're gonna have Petey Pirhana fighting, why not throw in a Pianta too? ...Actually, come to think of it, being able to kick ass as a Pianta isn't such a bad idea. It would have to be the Don or something from Paper Mario though. Meh, I guess with 40 characters there's room for all kinds of crazy.

Well, in Metroid Prime Ridley only seemed a bit bigger than Samus. I'd say he's about on par with Bowser or Gannondorf. If you're talking about the 2D Ridley though, yeah. Way too big. Frankly I could care less that they removed the ice climbers, as they weren't all that fun to play as and their level sucked immensely. I wonder if they'll at least let us keep the Game and Watch level though. For old time's sake.

No more Game and Watch? *sigh* I guess I'll have to hold onto my copy of Melee, while still enjoying the hell out of Brawl.
