Hmmm... I saw the trailer and was intrigued when I bought SiN. I may try it out sometime soon.

What are you talking about. I forget what score you need to hit exactly, but if you play it for long enough you'll get an email on your PDA thanking you for wasting your life.

So they're releasing the first Sonic again...

Yeah, sadly I would too. Sad, because I already have both the Mega and Gems collections. -
Indeed it is. And Mario Kart is great too, but they missed my favorite levels from the N64 one. That one where it's a maze around Yoshi's Egg? Fuck yeah, bring it back. Also Toad's Freeway, but that's a given.

'nuff said. Although towards the end of the series it got a bit too weird for my tastes.

Me about two minutes ago. Sorry 'bout the shit webcam. Also, the angle is fucked up as I can't get it to balance correctly on my monitor. Oh well. If I actually had access to a good picture, I'd use that. Alas, I shall make to with this.

grats man, sounds like quite a feat. I'm considering using the sheet music to make myself up some guitar tabs (I can read music much better for piano than guitar) and teach myself some acoustic goodness.

I'm more excited about the save feature. The opening levels are great and everything, but I really don't need to play them EVERY DAMN TIME. -
Indeed there is. You go into any game that uses wifi on your old DS and select something along the lines of "transfer friend code." It's in the menus somewhere if you hunt around. Once you've got that selected, have your other DS search download play. You should be able to transfer over your settings. Worked for me in Mario Kart, but have yet to check it with AC.

Games I have purchased on Steam: Darwinia HL2: Ep1 Ragdoll Kung Fu SiN Episodes: Emergence Haven't had a problem with any of them, and it's the only way I was ever going to be able to track down a copy of Darwinia, which I absolutely loved. At present, all they're collecting about you is what games you own, (necessary for the service) how long you've played them for, (marketing mumbo-jumbo) and your system specs. (optimization of games) It's a bit big brother-ish, but it allows me access to great games that I couldn't find otherwise and doesn't collect stuff that would worry me to have people find out. I really like the idea of Steam, and like elMuerte said, it's not like the EULA can really be enforced.

Heh. Me likes the trailer. Also: WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: What else can one say?

Oh fuck yeah. Macross is fantastic. Never saw the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series, but did enjoy both movies. Second wasn't nearly as good as first, but still solid.

Runs beautifully on my PC, but unfortunately gives me the same sound stutters that I get with Doom 3. Anyone know why this could be happening? I have a soundblaster X-Fi (the cheap one, Xtreme Music or whatever it's called) with the latest drivers so it should be great. It only seems to be this and Doom 3 that give me trouble, but I suspect if I ever tried Quake 4 I'd get a similar error. Damn engine. I hate the way that people look in the Doom 3 engine. It was created to do so much with monsters that it even makes humans look like you should be scared of them and blowing their heads off. The hawk is cool though. Overall, I quite enjoyed that demo. I'll probably be getting it, but maybe in a month or so when I can find it used. I guess it all depends on how fat my next paycheque is, as I'm already planning on getting Oblivion with it. Prey comes second, but does look promising. EDIT: Started downloading the Quake 4 demo. Let's see if I can confirm this suspicion. EDIT EDIT: Yup, same sound problems. Fun little demo though. A bit generic, but if I can find the game on the cheap, could be fun.

Sweet. The theater I work at is getting a documentary based on his sketches next month. I'm kinda interested.

One that's come highly recommended to me is Blood+. I have yet to watch it, but there you go.

3rd party DS stylus/thumb stylus/screen protectors
miffy495 replied to Tommy Gun's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah, I'm already on the back-up stylus that nintendo gave me with my lite, so I'm going to need another replacement sometime soon. Was hoping for first-party, but have yet to see them. -
I think I saw this on Somethingawful. Isn't one of the challengers Lowtax?

Yeah, CMI is great. And to hell with popular opinion with regards to EMI. It may not have been as good as it could have been, but it was still a solid adventure game. I will proudly stand here and say: I LIKED EMI.

I've had my Lite for just under 2 months now. I gotta say, the novelty hasn't worn off yet. It's a great little machine. Although I agree with Moos in terms of ipodization, my much beloved clunker went gimpy on me and forced an upgrade. The screens make everything pretty, even GBA games are better on the lite somehow. On the subject of GBA games, the sticking out really isn't that bad. Anyone who's walked around with a DS + Warioware Twisted in their pocket can tell you how bad it can get. In contrast, this is barely anything. I have no qualms leaving a GBA cart in the slot at all times. I think I've got Advance Wars in there at the moment.

3rd party DS stylus/thumb stylus/screen protectors
miffy495 replied to Tommy Gun's topic in Video Gaming
I got one of those a while ago with a pack of madcatz original DS styli. Problem was, the regular stylus scratched up my screen, so I was terrified to try out the pointy-lookin' thumb thing. -
Man, this is making me want to pick up the piano again. Started on guitar when I was ten and gave up the piano two years later. It's only been 6 years, I could still... meh, not likely. I AM replaying MI3 now though, as an unrelated coincidence.

Dude, anime style. That's just how they're drawn. If they don't have giant boobs, then they're probably about 8 years old. Kind of a disturbing staple of the genre. Anyway, yes. Trauma Center has an awesome story. That bit with the Senator (? Some government guy. I think it was a Senator) was especially moving. I fucking saluted him at the end of the level. Go dude go.
-
Yeah, that was fucking sweet. He always talks about "nailing" people, but this time he fucking got it perfect.

I like that Sony pretends to have invented the design when really all that a Playstation controller is is an SNES pad with two extra shoulder buttons glommed onto it. Maybe like is the wrong word. Find humorous?

It's not as bad as in North America. On the CBC, they assume you can handle an accent, but I've seen some American networks put subtitles on British accents. We're talking about clean, upper-class British accents here. The kind you'd see in a fucking Jane Austen made-for-TV special. The only kind of subtitle you should see on that had better damn well be in a language other than english.
