Dammit, where's the copy I preordered? Maybe the fact that Contact is in the package as well is adding some time to it. I guess it'll be arriving in a few days. Stupid shipping to Canada...

Golden Joystick Awards: Farcical list of "winners"
miffy495 replied to Spaff's topic in Video Gaming
Hey now, let's leave SpiderMonkey alone. He does have something of a point. I almost always have my DS in my backpack, because it's great when I'm waiting for the bus or show up early to meet a friend, stuff like that. Brief bursts of time to kill. I also like my PSP, but only bring it with me when I know that I'll have an hour or so of nothing to do later on in the day. During those periods, I'll play GTA , Lumines, MGA, or whatever. Honestly though, most of my playtime on the PSP has been logged while sitting on my couch. It's a solid system that just happens to have a screen on the controller instead of needing to be hooked up to something. There's nothing wrong with that. Portable games that are meant to be portable? Love 'em. Still, the PSP has its place. -
Damn, I didn't realize the game had a character editor. I saw that photo and almost bought Armageddon just because of it. If I could fight using "Legalese" as the shot portrayed, I'd have ponied up the cash in a second.

Golden Joystick Awards: Farcical list of "winners"

...I kinda liked LCS. Sure, it wasn't the best thing on the PSP, but it was a solid continuation of GTA and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm really looking forward to VCS as well. As for handheld game of the year, you can bloody well fuck off, but it was still pretty good. -
It's almost $30 Canadian, but I still paid for the whole damn thing. It's Lumines, for god's sake. They found my weak point and hit it. (for massive damage) I'd say the basic ($15-ish) version is worth it. Dunno 'bout the extra advance pack yet, as I have yet to have a chance to play it, but I'll get into it soon enough. Again, it's goddamned Lumines, there's no way it isn't awesome. If you've played it on PSP, I might reccommend holding off 'till you're sure about it. Otherwise, get at least the basic already. Great, great game.

I think that she meant things like "they're/there/their" or "its/it's" becoming so misused that they form their own language. In which case I believe the proper term would be either homonyms or homophones, depending on who you ask. Ummm... yeah. EDIT: oh yeah, I meant to do this too: QFPOHH. Not anymore anyways. Just look to the internet for thousands of examples. I've already said that I will only buy Sony products second-hand from here out, but I'd like to reaffirm that as everyone seems to be right now. Also, the PX-100s are fantastic. I've had my pair for almost 3 years now. Best $80 I've ever spent. Fantastic range for headphones. On heavy bass songs, it's like wearing a subwoofer strapped to your head, while still not losing any quality from the higher frequencies. Brilliant. -
I kinda like both styles. You're not always in the mood for a heavy story with lots of cutscenes, but when you are FF VII and VIII are great. When you're not, well, play VI or IV. (I'll admit, V's job system kinda irritated me.)

I never had a problem with NFS until they jumped on the urban-izing bandwagon. They always seemed like solid little racing games that, though it wasn't my genre of choice, were a nice little diversion for a while. I have particularly good memories of playing NFS3: Hot Pursuit with a friend back when I was 13. We'd trade off being cop and outlaw over and over and wasted a whole day in this manner. Then we did the same thing the next week. Then we got kind of sick of it, but it served it's purpose. I can't speak for the new incarnations, as I stay away from most "Underground" games on principle. From what I've heard though, they at least hold up the quality of the previous games.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. Although I only ever play against bots as online shooter players generally irritate me. Still, Unreal 2004 was worth the money more for the mods than anything else. The game itself wasn't that hot, but the mods made it good.

Rocket slime is awesome, but no more of an RPG than the 2D Zeldas. There's no leveling to speak of and you only gain one new ability the entire game. Your only real customization comes from what you decide your tank's crew and ammo loadout will be. Aside from that, I'd call it an action/adventure before anything else. Still awesome, and I highly reccommend it, I'm just not sure if I'd stack it amongst other RPGs.

Enjoy. Here's me, not 10 minutes ago, holding my busted and worn out (but delightfully be-stickered!) Guitar Hero controller in my surprisingly tidy student-hovel entryway. One of those awkward mirror shots, but you get the idea. Please note: I just now realized that there's some random white splotchy stuff on the mirror. I shall be asking my roommates about this shortly.

*cries a single tear.* THEY WILL PAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! ...by which I mean if I ever buy one of their games again, it'll be used so that they get no money from me. -
Cheers man, I'm in the exact same boat. Justice for All and Contact are on the way!

The only film I've seen recently with Joe Pesci in it was Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. (so fucked up, check it out if you can.) Although he does play a gang leader in it, I assume you're referencing something else?

Wooo! Everybody do the wave for Take Two's lawyers! :worship::worship: :worship::worship::worship: :worship::worship: ...man, if I could stagger the timing on that, they'd totally be doing the wave.

Having cleared Expert, I kinda resent that. My hair isn't that weird at all.

Donkey Konga video: Four full combos in 4-player mode, by myself! (pokemon)
miffy495 replied to Tommy Gun's topic in Video Gaming
Jesus Christ, man. And I was happy when a buddy and I cleared Duet Gorilla mode while drunk... (note: we've done this with both DKs. Good fun.) I bow to your superior rhythm game skills. You've inspired me. I need to get two more sets of drums and try this out for myself. -
I believe that the first time I noticed a bunch of 'em was Killer Queen on Medium. This was a while ago though. If you want a definite bunch of hammer ons and pull offs, try Texas Flood on, um... any difficulty. That song's got a bunch no matter how confident you are. On a related note, please allow me to mourn for my over-used and now dead GH guitar. I mean hell, I only played it almost every night for almost a year. How dare a piece of plastic not be able to take that kind of punishment? When GH2 hits on 360, I swear I'm getting something like 4 guitars just so I have some backups.

What the hell's up with this "only showing up some of the time" thing? I can't even see my own damn gamercard right now!

Cool, I didn't know you could find an image of your tag like that. I guess it makes sense, as I've seen pictures of other people's tags on sites before, but I had no idea it was such a simple process. Well, for anyone who's interested:
