Grats. Siamese are fucking awesome cats. A little uppity sometimes, but worth it. I've only got tabbies myself atm. Your cats are way more next-gen than mine. Mine are like those alleycat 2600s kids used to play with in the 80s. Oh, and JPEG = best pet name ever. I wish I'd come up with it.

Just so everyone's aware, the web browser just went live. I'm typing this on my Wii right now. I doubt I'll ever write like this again. For god's sake there's a perfectly good keyboard a staircase away.

I blasted through the single player really quick, but am looking forward to some new years eve drunken co-op. It honestly wasn't anything all that special, but it was a good chunk of fun for a while. This type of game is always better in co-op though, so I'm witholding final judgement until a few friends and I have passed around the controllers for a couple of hours.

Hmmm... that's two new members in one thread. Impressive. Welcome aboard.

Really? Maybe it's just that I've played too much Zelda over the years and can recognize the patterns, but I was never stuck for more than 20 minutes. Ocarina was another matter. Never would have gotten through the Water Temple sans guide, and the Spirit Temple later. Course, with the fishing, just standing at the proper distance to have the fish land on the dock so the cat can grab it was a pain in the ass. The fishing early in Orodon is easily the worst part of the game.

Wasn't that for N64? Or do you mean the Rouge Leader battle of Endor where you're up in space over the moon (having to take out 3 star destroyers at once, as I recall) and surrounded by a giant raging battle? That was a damned fun game, and the thing that I played the most during my first year of cube ownership.

Sounds good. I'm working a bunch in there, but I'm sure I could squeeze in a few games here and there. I won't be very good, what with the "just got it and haven't really played it" going on, but it could definitely be fun.

Sony continues to simply rock, PS3 delayed again in Europe?

HELL. YES. Mmmmm... fighting games have always been my fall-back. Not enough to hold me for any good degree of time, but always there when I need them. Fantastic news. -
Wow. So many people have their hate on for the boss of Prime. I actually found it easier than Meta-Ridley. Won on the first try. Meta-Ridley, not so much. That was a good 5 or 6 attempts. Maybe the 100% thing helped (that's a lot of optional energy tanks there) but honestly I never understood that complaint. It wasn't like BG&E boss hard or anything. On that note, if you don't have it for anything else, BG&E is necessary playing.

I've seen one or two buzzlegums flying around, but haven't had any take up residence yet. The problem with the flying pinatas is that you can't select them until they're near the ground, so I can't pop up the info window to see what they need to stay. What do I do? How do I make the buzzlegums like my garden?

Yay! Finally arrived today, along with Gears of War. I played Gears for a bit this afternoon, and damn. Much better than I'd expected. The "We are big men with big guns" thing instantly had me skeptical about its greatness, but I gotta say I'm enjoying it. As for Pinata, well that's why I'm in this thread. Holy crap, a greater time sink there never was. This game eats hours like popcorn. I figured that I needed some sleep after watching Colbert, but I wanted to give Pinata a try so planned on maybe a half hour of play. Exams are over and I work nights, so it's not like I have to be anywhere in the morning. At around 4:30 in the morning, I became aware of what time it was. Whups. Damn that thing pulls you in. My fucking Mousemallows don't want to breed. I can't seem to get my hands on any daisy or buttercup seeds, and they need to eat 'em to want to copulate. Of course, maybe it's a blessing. After watching a few of the "Romance Dances" I'm wondering if this game really should have gotten the E rating. It's not like there's anything explicit, but I wouldn't want to have to be the parent who bought it for a 4 year old and had to explain why the bass-heavy music in the background of the Whirlm dance made me chuckle so much. I now have 7 achievements already and just got my first garden size upgrade. I'm only about 4 hours in and the game has ahold of my brain. I am very, very impressed. Good on Rare for taking this amazing step in ending their slump.

Guitar. Hero. Nothing more will ever be needed. Well, ok. There's actually quite a bit worth a look. I notice that neither Katamari nor Gitaroo Man are on your list. I'd grab at least one (hopefully both, budget permitting) of those. And if you're into traditionalist JRPGs at all, it's the only place you'll find Dragon Quest 8.

Twin Snakes was fantastic. My second Metal Gear game (first being Ac!d. I was desparate to find something worth playing on the PSP.) and I think perhaps favorite. 3 was great, 2 was a solid continuation, but damn was Twin Snakes good. I'm on the fence about how whole-heartedly to recommend Prime. It's definitely a good game. I think I may have burned myself out on it though. I played the first one obsessively. Hell, I got 100% completion on it. Them Echoes came out and I just couldn't get more than a few hours in. I don't know what the discrepancy was, as the game really did seem of high quality. I just didn't seem to care that much any more. I also intend to try again with Corruption. Hell, if it's good enough, maybe I'll take another look at Echoes.

Yeah, I just got it today, and I usually try to make it a point to beat the campaign mode before I go online with a game. Not too bad so far. I hear co-operative is great, and a friend has been telling me to get it for a while just so we can play some online co-op. Of course, now he's out of town for the week, but soon some two player goodness shall be mine.

Yeah, if you get sent to prison for saying there may be a conspiracy, by the time you're out there won't be any room left in your mind for doubt.

I second Luigi's Mansion and the Sonic/Mega Man collections. Well, Ok. I don't have the X collection. I keep on meaning to pick it up, but then there's all this new stuff... *sigh* I should really get that sooner or later.

I'd add in Chibi-robo if you want something innocent and cutesy and Mario Tennis if you've got someone on hand to sink many, many hours of multiplay into the game with.

Please don't let the fishing spoil you on this game. It really will get awesome, and soon.

The fishing in the initial town is kinda shit. Wait until you get the fishing lodge over by Zora's domain open. It's actually all right there. It's even made more worth it by the fact that

Can't you just get the little USB thing from the DS? I was under the impression that that works with the Wii as well. My TV is on a different floor than my router, so I was much happier with the Wifi capabilities of the Wii than having to spend the extra $120 on the 360's wireless adapter. It's a bit of a rip off, but they've got you by the balls if you want Wifi.

Well I shipped you that little girl alien. Hope that helps. Or were you already counting that one? I've started making a conscious effort to make some female Miis now and then to correct the balance on my own system.

I assumed that that's what he was referring to, thus the reference. If there's some other movie that I just completely missed, I apologize.

I see switchboxes every time I go into EB for about $25 Canadian, so you shouldn't have too much trouble tracking one down. And yeah, if you're playing a Wii on it, your TV is recommended to be no more than 8 feet away, so is it really that much hassle?

The problem with the arcade demos is that, with a couple of exceptions, they're totally insubstantial. It's one thing to give gamers a taste of a game that leaves them wanting to buy, it's completely another to have a demo so short it borders on a video. Download the Gauntlet demo if you don't get what I mean. It can be beaten, easily, in under 1 minute. The only thing that that demo did was irritate me. We need more demos along the lines of Geometry Wars. Play on a 5 minute timer? Cool. It's a chance to really dig into the game. Once you can last longer than 5 minutes, you're probably into it enough to want to pay for the whole thing.

I'm also wondering about the origins of Bobalee. It's an awesome little Mii. Adama is sweet, as are the two (whose names escape me) that ysbreker sent. It's nice to actually have a reason to run the Mii parade now and then to see what people have made.
