I love this forum. How many other places have threads derailed by grammar correction? Although you never know, he could have meant that it is wholly black. He'd be incorrect, as there are splashes of chrome here and there, but at least his grammar would be solid. With regards to the "PS3 looks like shit" topic, I'm inclined to disagree. It's definitely (in my opinion) the ugliest of the new consoles, lacking the smooth and clean lines of the 360 or the "we're an inconspicuous little box!" nature of the Wii. It's actually quite awkward and looks out of place in every photo I've seen of it that hasn't been made by a PR company. It's already big enough without having it bulge strangely through some design decision. Why make it bigger than it needs to be? I think the earlier comparison to the original XBox is entirely valid here. Still, it is far more aesthetically pleasing than some other gadgets you may have in your "these things are all hooked into my TV" pile. I'm looking at you, audio reciever...

...and all I can think is "Error: 404" sorry.

Hell, the GBC had tilt sensors. Kirby's Tilt n' Tumble (1999, I think?) had 'em way back in the day. Followed up on the GBA with Yoshi's Topsy Turvy (or Universal Gravitation, depending on where you live) and WarioWare Twisted. Way to go, Sony! Don't have a mac myself, but a guy I work with is running parallel desktops at the moment. Works fine for him, but all he plays is an old PC version of FF7, so make of that what you will.

Uhhh... you do understand that this is episode based, right? As in "Tune in next episode to see what the deal with that creepy bear thing was! Also, what's causing these TV personalities to flip out and go rogue." Now eagerly awaiting next month's episode, and hoping that Season 2 is already in the planning stages. It's not like some TV network can just up and cancel it.

Depending on what leaps the new version makes, I could be tempted. 'Course, if I traded in my old Xbox, I'd hold onto my current hard drive so I could keep all my arcade games in their "able to run offline" state. It's all about the heat for me. The noise doesn't bother me, as the thing sits on the other side of the room when I'm playing and as such is never noticable enough to be a problem. If they can make me more comfortable leaving it on for long stretches of time though, I may have to swap up.

I'm not saying it's the best quality ever. I can hear the faults too. Thing is, they're not serious enough (for me anyway) to really detract from the experience. It'd be nice if they were higher quality, but for now they get the job done. ...yeah. I get that now. The fact that there's no menu when you start the game for the first time meant that I didn't bother trying to find an options menu and just started playing. Maybe next playthrough I'll start messing with stuff. Walter, I think the problem is on your end for that one. I'm a widescreen person as well, and on my monitor there's an option in the settings (like, settings that come up when you mess with the buttons on the monitor, not settings in Windows) to display things in their native format. As such, whenever something 4:3 comes up, my monitor switches over to 4:3 on its own. It didn't do this by default though, so have a look around and see if you can find the option. Good luck.

Well, I'm glad that they've put out Military Madness, Gunstar Heroes, and Ecco the Dolphin at any rate. I never had the systems that those were released on, so they're ones that I've wanted to check out for a while. Gunstar in particular, as I only learned about Treasure two years ago and have been trying to catch up on their back catalogue since.

Fair 'nuff. Here in Canada, I've heard "E" quite a bit, but "X" only once or twice.

I would also like to applaud the download time. I went to grab a glass of water after it started downloading, and on my return approximately 1 minute later it'd already finished. Considering it'd just released, that's damned impressive. I figured that the servers would be swamped and I'd have plenty of time to do things before playing. Not so, and I'm very happy for it. (and Karimi, I'm pretty sure the TV & Hypnosis themes will carry on through the season until the climax. Unless I'm horribly turned around about the whole thing, the season's greater arc is based around it)

I heard the Action Replay for the GCN works fine for those games. Still, I believe that's something that is booted on CD, and thus probably wouldn't work for VC stuff.

Yeah, I figured as much. The widescreen thing was kind of a wishfull shot in the dark that I never expected to happen until at least this season is finished. As for the audio quality, I don't have any problems with it. I've heard the complaints, but don't really see the issue. It's not the best, but it sounds perfectly fine to me.

Hmm... it occurs to me that I didn't really try. There was just never an obvious options menu. Although something did pop up after the credits. I guess that's the problem with going through the entire game in one sitting.

Don't make me link the press release that accompanied the Wii announcement... Although "Wii" grew on me. E for All is just stupid and I doubt the same will happen.

That's still within their PAL restrictions though, isn't it? Although I guess both North America and Japan are NTSC. Well, NTSC-U/C and NTSC-J, is that close enough? Essentially, is there a universal workaround, or just the Au-Eu one?

I'm pretty sure that's consistent across most English speaking countries.
